..and there will be no "pop medley". Full songs only! upd: just checked the setlist. Well, only Starlight as a pop song (don't look at SMBH!) is a way to go, I suppose. Let's see how their setlists will progress then. 15 min of metal is >>> 5 min of pop.
@@Dronosaur0 I really wish they'd just axe Starlight from setlists. Matt doesn't even play any of the instrumentals anymore, so it's a pretty empty, pointless live song.
I think this is yet another way to somehow please hardcore fans with older/heavier stuff much like they did with the so far 2 "by request" shows. After Montreux 2016 they got a lot of hate and this proves they listened. Hardcore fans have not been forgotten in favor of the more mainstream audience for which they have a lot more pressure and are forced to satisfy one way or another. I find that extremely cool from them, cause they could just do whatever they please, yet they still think about us. Thank you Muse!
I respect you, sir! I wish when I'm in my 70's I would be in such a condition that I could go to the Muse gig, if the still do any gigs then (I'm 56 atm 😉)
Don't matter what age you are,I'm 63 seeing them for first time NXT June, can't wait, Muse and the killers my favourite bands, saw killers last year..rock on 😁
Awesome! I feel sorry for the majority of older people who only listen to the same stuff all their lives. Most people i know, haven't moved on from what they enjoyed when they were young. 50 something and still blasting metallica, maiden and acdc.
I know some people here aren't pleased with cutting such good songs into small pieces but personally I like the idea (no one said they'd repeat it on every concert from now on, right?). We got 15 minutes of pure epicness and I love it!

This like the best parts of their old live shows all mushed together into one. So fucking awesome. They have too many hit songs to fit into a single concert. This is an excellent compromise.
It's genuinely sad, as a fan of this band since 2000, that their biggest and best songs get diluted into a medley. I'm not a fan of their last 3 albums (2nd Law and Drones had a couple of standout tracks which were pretty damn good, but Simulation Theory is genuinely such a let down, and seemingly just an incoherent mess of 80s throwbacks and pandering to the 80s synth bandwagon which Stranger Things got right). I know that some people love simulation theory, and fair play to you if that's what floats your boat. But as a musician I'd be listening to how excited my fans got over my older style of songs compared to my new stuff and be saying to myself "actually we need to get back to our roots just a bit, cut out all the synths, and do some classical piano infused with face melting hard rock riffs. Again, just my opinion, not trolling. Love to all and merry Christmas.
I get you man. There’s only a couple of songs on the last 3 albums that give me a little bit of that genuine Muse feel. I think the problem is that even the band itself cant really place what that means to us. They came out with drones thinking thats what all of us ‘hardcore’ muse fans wanted to hear. But drones is just a hard-rock album. Muse’s older albums were so much more than that. I for one really miss the piano style tracks that were on Origin and Absolution. For me thats a big part of why those albums feel so ‘out of this world’.
Woah. What happened at 4:24 ? It's an overdubbed guitar part. Matt looks pissed, like it was a mistake in a backing track render and you can see his hands not doing a slide down when there is an obvious audible slide down. I've never seen anything like this before with these guys. Guitar backing tracks????!!!!!
@@feeziwizz nah, even the later solo seems weird. unless his tech is back stage controlling the wammy pedal or it's preprogrammed to the timeline. I've been a diehard fan since showbiz. I'm not hating at all. I would just really love to know what's up.
SceneOfAction It’s an effect of some kind that pitch shifts and sounds like a slide. Literally happens every time he plays the song so not a mistake and I don’t think he looks particularly pissed off if I’m honest. ua-cam.com/video/CQLh_6KH0bM/v-deo.html Watch other videos. Literally does it every time.
@@SuperToddjohnson Yeah, that video you linked, definitely live. You can hear the variations in the playing, all that. But this video. Man, I'm just not convinced. Especially the slide before he sings home. It just seems like the slide is on a backing track. But yeah, that other video is live for sure.
SceneOfAction Not sure. I admit it’s weird as when I first saw him play it live I was equally confused. But I think it is just an effect. You can make a sound like that using an x y pad as I have a kaoss pad which I use for DJ stuff and you can drag a notes pitch with it like a digitech whammy and it sounds like a guitar slide. It’s strange that he doesn’t move his right hand towards the pad or stomp a pedal but every time I’ve seen it live in person or on UA-cam he never slides his left hand so he meant to do it.
Yeah, by the time they played that big Rome show in 2013 his head was well reforested. He did it between the release of The 2nd Law and that show. Fuck, I can't believe that was over five years ago. Time flies.

@@nickcds3419 Yeah, that's not how UA-cam algorithms work, though. If you haven't been a fan for the last four albums, about 8 years, there's no way Muse live videos are just popping up on your suggestions if you haven't been watching any Muse-related videos for appx. 8 years. Chris has had hair for over half a decade, so you're clearly not watching any Muse videos that would cause this one to pop up. No problem if you don't enjoy their new stuff (I haven't enjoyed some of it), but people who go out of their way to post hate is just trolling.

9:25 Chris belting the shit out of Dead Star is phenomenal. Still sounds so great all these years later.

The medley should be Starlight/Mercy/Madness etc. so they can play these pieces of perfection in full.
