I’m so saddened to hear the passing of Mr. Beverly and suddenly I’m missing my dad all over again. RIP Gerald Oxford (1936-2018). This was his era and I’m so glad this is the kind of music he raised me up on. He was the flyest black dad there was…danced at all the family functions to this song and started all the Soul Train lines at the reunion ❤

I'm 56 and I have so many beautiful memories of family reunions and other family celebrations and Frankie Beverly and Maze was in constant rotation. This band and many others is still real music. You can't beat the "feel so good" soul classics. Today's excuse for music can't hold a match, a candle or a blow torch to this real music.

Amazingly this song and "Golden Time of Day" get me thru chronic bouts of depression. I've learned to use music as means of therapy. These words reassure me that I'm not alone. Threw this song and others like it, I've discovered the brightest side of the darkest part of me. I put my headphones on, get away from my thoughts and let Frankie console my heart, my mind and most importantly uplift my spirit. Just to take a break from negativity, I sometimes meditate in the melodies. When I open my eyes, everything is alright. Even if that alright only lasts me a little while...

Many men died and lost limbs fighting for what? These are the joy and pain of our country.Pray with me in Jesus Christ name that we as a people come up under His divine authority. Peace
