I have had a secret love affair with the helicopter since I saw the Amercan tv show, The Whirleybirds, in the 50's when I was a boy. But there is no mistaking the sound of the Huey slap slap. There is just no comparison to any other helicopter, the Huey remains the first for perfection on all levels. It's like a faithful old dog ready to serve at a moments notice and it did so saving countless lives and still doing it even now.
Thanks for capturing this- I was fascinated and got a lot of hawk pics while watching the HUEY land...That sound takes me back to my teens, and hearing it every night on the news during dinner when the Vietnam war raged...
A man I have known most of my life and who is like my dad was with 25th in Vietnam. Don Tibbs earned the silver. We have talked about his service for hours. I think he would love to this Huey. It would be two old warriors together again. Thinks to all old warriors.

I can imagine what memories these Vets must have of this Iron Horse A Life Saver in many respects.
