0:50 - Canada Dry Vostok must have been a hastily-made competitor to Schweppes Russchian mixer for vodka which seems to have about the same sort of thing (both were the same colour, anyway). Apparently Russchian is still available in a few out of the way places, but Vostok went east (geddit?) rather quickly...
Mostly goods rather than services back then, and ads designed to sell the product, not to push a social message. As for Grundig, yep they were a 'posh' brand, out of my parents' price range. The 70s were a difficult decade, but I think I would go back to them in preference to today.

That is a known problem with digitising old tapes. You sometimes also get a faint "shadow" of the audio appearing slightly ahead of the normal audio track.
