How does this machine work? I've been trying to figure this out. How does the wire go onto the mandrel and just keep going without anything to hang on to so that it can create the coil?
The pin and mandrel rotate together at same speed, but the pin moves back and forth making room for the wire while is pulled. The machine has a cam mechanism inside to adjust pin stroke for different wire sizes. The pin have a sharp edge on the end facing the coil, and cut one ring per revolution.
