    I had similar results with a PSA px- 9 and a Griffin Optimus with 3lug adapter. My point of impact shift was 21 inches low and 9 inches right . I gave up on 3 lug and went to taper mount. I used the same 3 lug adapter on a CMMG 22lr with a Griffin 22m and had zero point of impact shift for all three lugs. Weird just weird

    Another thing to consider too is trying the different positions on the 3-lugs. Try rotating each suppressor apparently it does make a difference too

      @joesrcool  Місяць тому +1

      Off camera, POI shifted, but there was no increase/decrease of accuracy. Agreed, all my 3-lug cans slightly shift depending on orientation. I try to keep it consistent and make a mental note to keep the can's logo as close to 12-o'clock as possible.

    May need to tighten the screws on the barrel of the mpx, for whatever reason, it's a well known and documented issue that somehow still comes from the factory out of spec, but once tightened, accuracy improves tremendously.

    • @joesrcool

      Done that several times, to the factory Sig specs and torque specs others have recommended, with no improvement.

    i've watched a number of mpx videos in the last day or so and a common theme is how it shoots all over the place. has anyone figured out why and have they fixed the problem??

    • @Dr.Shankenstein
      @Dr.Shankenstein 6 місяців тому +7

      I can only imagine it's improper torque on the barrel screws. I have two MPXs and they shoot extremely accurate up to 200 yrds

    • @alexanderkim4889
      @alexanderkim4889 3 місяці тому

      Not sure what other videos you watched, but the MPX is plenty accurate out of the box. The problems usually come up when people switch the muzzle device like this guy did. The muzzle device needs to index off of Sig’s proprietary 25 degree taper or you need to get an adapter. Otherwise, groupings tend to open up. If you want a trilug like this guy, your best best is getting it from ILWT, which offers one for the MPX specifically.

      @solarlion144 2 місяці тому

      It's the 3 lug adapter. Mine was all over the place. Switched to a plan b mount and now it's beyond accurate. Like a rifle

    • @danmosse9170
      @danmosse9170 2 місяці тому

      The most consistent solution I’ve had is increased power recoil springs and reduced diameter gas plugs. Barrel torque variation does nothing for it. I think that the gun is under sprung and is just beating itself up. Putting a suppressor on increases the back pressure and the bolt speed which seems to make it worse especially on the 4 inch guns. Could explain why they beat up and break triggers so much too. They seem to also be very picky on ammo selection as well. 147 grain seems to work the best. Using a direct thread Sig ModX9 was atrocious until I upped the recoil spring power and reduced the gas plug size. It was shooting around seven inches before and about two inches after.

    • @solarlion144
      @solarlion144 2 місяці тому

      @danmosse9170 no. The accuracy issues is from a 3 lug adapter. I had the same thing. Switched to a plan b cherry bomb , and hub adapter to plan b for my can. Now it's literally 1 moa. Tac driver. As for gas issues. U can get an adjustable gas plug from ilwt

    A friend of mine has the same setup that you do, a PTR and a B&T can that has the EXACT same point of shift you experienced. When he asked me my opinion, I originally thought that it was likely the weight of the can or some sort of misalignment with a tri-lug. But after seeing this video, I now think it's more than likely a design issue. I'd be curious to see if other MP5 clones are also replicating the same point of shift as the PTRs with B&T cans.

    I was starting to think this was a commercial for a Rugged Obsidian suppressor, lol. What optics are you running on those? The one on the MP5 looks like an Elcan or Aimpoint/MRO patrol. I recently purchased the MPX-K and submitted paper work for suppressor. I haven't shot it yet and hoping I didn't waste my money.

    • @joesrcool
      @joesrcool  5 місяців тому

      Well, my Obsidian is the quietest 9mm can I own. The MP5 has an Aimpoint PRO with the standard low mount, I really like the optic. I think you'll be happy with the MPX. They do shoot nice, but they can be a bit gassy. The accuracy seems to be "okay" for an up close kinda gun. Just make sure you understand any POI shifts with a suppressor.

    Yeah, I gave up on three lug a while ago. B&T cans on SP5, but results weren't as bad as yours. Def suppressor-dependent as your Rugged did really well. Not a super accurate platform but man, these B&T cans are cheap for a reason.

    I will add that on your B&T you did not confirm if it was your first shot that went low and left. Not sure if you are aware but 1st shot through a supressor is well known to be different. Usually in relation to amplitude making it louder than normal, often stated due to more oxygen in the can internals and something you dont hear of as often anymore running a can "wet or dry" has to do with the physical internal volume. That MAY be something to look at.

    • @joesrcool

      As am I, but I've heard others report poor accuracy with 3-lug adapters. I checked the barrel bolt torque after this trip, and they were well below 40in/lbs. I also re-torqued the 3-lug adapter as I was able to spin it off by hand. We'll see if there's an improvement.

    • @Dr.Shankenstein

      I have two MPXs a 6 inch barrel and a 9 inch barrel. They shoot extremely accurate up to 200yrds when I got them I cleaned off any oil or factory threadlocker off of the barrel screws and applied vc3 thread mate and make sure they were properly torqued in sequence. If you tighten down one completely and then the other one down completely you can totally screw up your accuracy.

      Sig barrels have a 25 degree taper. You need to get a muzzle device that accounts for the taper or get a taper adapter. ILWT offers a trilug muzzle device specifically for the MPX that performs reliably.

    • @danmosse9170
      @danmosse9170 2 місяці тому

      Like many others, I’ve had nothing but trouble with the four inch MPX variant and a direct thread Sig can. The eight inch (and longer) guns seem to be less trouble. With some tinkering with the spring weights and gas plugs and being flexible with trying different bullet loads it can be mostly overcome. However, I find myself just shooting an MP5 more instead of dealing with the headache.

    Dude good idea for a test but you should have set up a better rest and position since you are really testing your stability more than the cans. And yes I have done similar tests and also seen low and to the right shifts even with threaded .30 cal supressors on a bolt gun on a SOLID as a rock front and rear rests.
