MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Stratos Figure Review with Parts Swapping!

- This video is a review of the Masters of the Universe Origins Cartoon Collection Stratos figure from wave 2. I also show show parts swapping options with the Other vintage inspired Origins Stratos figures.
I can’t find any of these in the wild and I want them so much lol. I’m gonna have to break down and buy them online I think. 🎉🎉🎉 another great video. I got my snout spout today so I’m excited to get the video done for home. He’s an awesome figure.
These are not at retail or even on places like BBTS yet! Only on ebay for higher prices. I also got my Snout Spout. I'm working on my review now. Congrats on getting your figure as well!👍
Looks good, great head sculpt. I might grab this just to use the head on my origins figure. Already grabbed a staff off etsy though lol.

The Cartoon Collection and Turtles of Grayskull figures are looking really nice.
Yeah, I'm all in with both of those lines. I think they are a lot of fun to mix with the original Origins figures. I'm glad you also like those lines.👍
I like the idea of having one all red, and one all blue Stratos.

Here I was, just commenting on the Cartoon Collection Mer-Man about the likeness being off and the “lackluster” episode-specific accessory, and now Stratos is the complete opposite! I like this one a lot, and yes, the Staff of Avion is perfect for him! Perhaps I’m not remembering correctly, but I thought he always had that staff every time he appeared in the cartoon (which is probably why in this instance, it doesn’t feel like a pointless one-off). I also appreciate that they finally gave us the reverse colors of the wings and jet pack. They might be more “toonified,” and the jet pack might not be a perfect fit, but they work. It’s kind of funny and odd that almost every iteration of Stratos keeps flipping the colors around (the Eternia Mini version also has the red wings and blue jet pack).
I agree about the hand pegs though. One thing I’ve definitely noticed upon opening the early Origins figures is that the hand pegs feel incredibly fragile. I don’t like having to continuously pull them off and push them in either.

I'm glad you like the new look and accessories that come with this cartoon Stratos figure. He was always the most boring to me as a kid. But I did appreciate his character in the cartoon and its great they included the staff of avion. I don't remember if he always had in the cartoon flying around. I don't think so! Yeah I really can't stand the small Origins pegs in the hands. They are really weak with too much pulling of the hands on and off.

Awesome review! Honestly, I think he looks great . The face sculpt is done really good with more expression or something. Looking forward to getting Stratos.

@@Themanchlid perfectly put I completely agree. I always felt like Stratos and Zodac never get the love because they may be more plain and basic. But , as you stated they are important characters/figures in the motu world
@@robertalessandrini8773 Yeah Zodac and Stratos were kind if boring in the vintage toy line compared to other figures. But the animation is what helped bring those characters personally traits and backround story into the light. Of coarse that helped sell the toys then. It definitely makes these figures more wanted now as well because they are important to the story as mentioned 👍
Great reviews of mer man and stratos. Yes the colours do look off on the figures. But the sculpts look very good. Really liking the cartoon line.

As always great review! :) Cartoon line is shaping up quite nicely imo and apart of few... well... questionable color choices you pointed out few times in your reviews, I really like what Mattel's been doing. If we can trust leaks (and so far Toy Habits were spot on!) I really can't wait to see some of the figures they will release this year, in both Masterverse and Cartoon lines.

Thanks for watching as always! I appreciate your support and sharing all your thoughts and comments. The color choices are a bit off on every cartoon figure compared to the Animation. I'm not if it's a license issue, The mixing of plastics at the factorys or just Design choices. I bring it up in the reviews because I hear that complaint with many of these figures. The colors don't really bother me personally. I think they look good and this line is definitely shaping up very well as you mentioned.
I'm sure there are some really cool Origins and Masterverse figures in the works. Yes Toy Habits do a good job of finding the most current info on upcoming releases. I never reviewed the Cartoon Man-At-Arms arms because I got him late and there were so many reviews already up. I also reviewed the New Eternia Man-At-Arms not far from that release and I wanted to keep one Cartoon collection figure in card with the art. Some figures I get and just don't review sometimes for those reasons. I got Rokkon for example like many other people did from Mattel creations. But im not sure if I'm gonna bother with a review because he's an exclusive and everyone can get one. The Turtles of greyskull Most Masterverse and the Cartoon figures will be sold online at places like BBTS. So I think the important part of reviews with certain figures is showing then to help collectors to buy them or not when they become available!
@@Themanchlid I presumed that you didn't reviewed Man at arms because you got him late, but imo, people don't watch your reviews just because they are early, we watch them because of your opinion and because they give us a lot of good info about the figures, and in some cases your review can sway the decision on wether to buy the figure or not one way or another.
Mattel Creations exclusives are really bad experience for international collectors, with most of the world being prevented from buying them because Mattel is incapable to sort a contract with a shipping company, but they are not willing to wait with the releases until that is sorted, so they will rather release the exclusives to a handful of countries. That is why you should probably review the exclusives, as a lot of people might not be sure if paying bunch of money on ebay is really worth it, so your review might help them make the decision.
I am collecting Masterverse and Cartoon lines so I was not looking into getting Rokkon, but this Snout Spout will hit me hard in case the guy I "pre-ordered" him from on ebay doesn't come through. I payed $69 shipped ($50+19 shipping), which is a great deal for me, considering that shipping from US alone is usually around $30-35+.
What worries me is that seller changed the price from $50 to $75 (which seems to be the average price) after I payed for mine, so now I just hope he values his positive feedback more than extra $25 as if he decides he'll rather screw me up l'll be looking into $100+ with shipping from US included... 🙄 And I REALLY want that figure! 🤣
Sorry Man but there is no issues with Licensing colors, it's either source material used by Mattel or designer's color choice, pantone red 056 can be used in making this figure just as easily as pantone red 074 in plastics, there is no licensing involved with having to get color accuracy.
Yes it definitely could be mixing of colors or just the plastic they are using. But the Classics had license issues with certain designs or colors they used when it comes to the Movie or certain filmation figures. The license for MOTU is very complicated sometimes to produce figures or certain looks. I remember watching Super7 discussing issues related to license or certain issues they could and could not do do with certain figures at that time. I think it's interesting that every color on every Cartoon Origins figure is off from the filmation or a different tone. I have seen plenty times a toy being made from a Cartoon or movie had very accurate colors when they want to do that. So again it's interesting all the Cartoon figures colors are off.
Nice figure, looking forward to it! You might have stretched out the band a little on the wings.
I hope there are some heroic warriors in the next wave too. Four villains sounds like to many. ha ha
Thanks for stopping by already! Yeah I definitely stretched that Ban a bit on the other figures. I'll use some sticky tac to hold it. I'm sure they definitely will have a few Heroic Cartoon figures to come as well. Those four Cartoon villians were just the four announced for later this year.

Stratos one of my favorite also, has a termo suit, for high-flying,.........I had him in the 80s,....and now too, my son lost one of the blue wings while playing,...now my son fell in love with he-man action figures, he dumped gi joe and transformers and Star Wars toys, for he-man, tmnt, and sonic action figures and backpacks,................marius(punk rules).
@mariusbabii Statos was always an interesting character. He was probably my least favorite as a kid because the figure didn't come with any weapons. But it's cool this one gets that iconic staff. Yeah, the wings are easy to lose! It's interesting that your son is more into Motu over Transformers and Star wars now! Thanks for watching another review 👌
Stratos and Zodac are the most bland of MOTU characters but they're definitely ones of the originals.. 😊
I think to amped Stratos more, they could have given him some hand blasts effect accesories. In the toon, he can fire blasts from his hand and wrists as well. 🤔
Yeah they could have done a lot of different things with the figures or added more accessories or alternate heads. But then they would have been more expensive deluxe or exclusive figures.
If we are getting Evil lyn. We got to be getting Triklops cartoon. Heard about Spikor, Webstor and Clawful. So good guys im thinking 🤔 Man-e-faces, Ram man, Buzzoff, and Orko.
Yeah, I heard Cartoon Evil-Lyn, Spikor, and Clawful and Tri-Klops were all announced confirmed so far. I'm sure those other figures will also come to this line!
Wonder if they are going to do a lot more character figures in this line. If so Im in one it. Looks like they will.

I think, wrapping those clear little rubber bands around Stratos' wrists can tighten the wings. Adds more friction in it. 🤔
Yeah good idea. I can also use some thin clear tape.
@@Themanchlid I don't use tapes. It leaves too many glue residue that messes the figs up in time. 😪

He's kinda bland. Just saying. The 200x and masterverse did a great job on his character. But good video as usual sir!
Yeah Stratos was always kind of bland to me because he never came with much! The 200x really made all the characters more complex looking with details and accessories. This cartoon figure is doing what is expected from the animation character. It's cool he also comes with the staff at least! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts as always 👍
I much prefer having the straps be solid, rather than being adjustable. It's much cleaner and removing them is still possible, but it's not something I would be looking to do often, if at all.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts on this figure and review. Yeah the solid straps definitely look luch cleaner and simple. The cartoon backpack is a little more involved to take off as I showed for customs. But if your just gonna leave it as is, Then it's not an issue. I like the ajustable straps because of the nastalgia and flexible designs. But they can also be Annoying taking apart as well!
What's that black tie on the red backpack for? 🤔
That's a hook I use to hang him. I keep my figure with those custom etsy wings on and flying by hanging him on a hook under my shelf. Thanks for stopping in already to check out the review 👍

They should have made it so that the comic that came with the figures told only half the story so that to get the full story you had to buy both figures.
Yeah, that would have made more sense for marketing. But I guess then they would have to make another comic to tell the other story, which is more expensive from Mattels side. So, I guess it's easier to make one comic and mix the multiple characters into one quick story to sell those figures with one or two comics already produced with art and a story for those characters that the figures are designed from. LOL. Yeah Stratos was always kind of bland but an important character in the filmation and Vintage toy line. The Masterverse Stratos came out awesome! He really big and has so many accessories. Thanks for stopping as always bro!
