I used to love the Ghostbusters HQ just being a regular building. It made a great villain hideout when I played Robocop or Spider-man where it would be Kingpins building.
Great Story !! When Star Wars came out, my grade school English class did a letter writing session to,people that we liked or looked up to. I wrote to Chuck Yeager for obvious reasons and a kid named Paul wrote to George Lucas. In his letter, Paul told George how he was planning to design his bedroom in a Star Wars theme and asked for any hints. Several weeks later, after school, we all got a phone call from Paul to hurry up and get over to his house. George Lucas had shipped him the ENTIRE Star Wars toy and comic line, among other things for his room. I kid you not, there were boxes of stuff sitting in his driveway. We went nuts unpacking his treasures. The following day nearly the entire class wrote letters to Lucas LOL, unfortunately non of us got a response. What a neat thing he did back in the golden years of the 70s. Thought you’d appreciate this one. Keep up the good work.
I’m 53, so it’s no surprise for me to relate to all of these amazing toy lines. Star Wars was of course my favorite. But every line that was mentioned I completely agree with in how unique and beautiful designed they were. My brother had the Six Million Dollar Man series of toys and still has them. He was born in 1965, so the original GI Joe 12” figures were also what he played with along with the Evil Knievel stunt cycle. I remember being in toy isles and really enjoyed looking at all the different toys from Kenner, I recall sending them proof of purchase seals for many years and waiting to receive my figures with great anticipation. Another excellent video as always Tony! Made my day
Excellent list. I actually had at least one or two items from each of these toylines. They cemented an entire generations love of world building toys. Kenner toys were.just incredible. Great video and synopsis of each toyline. Again, Tony, even with your short videos, you set a high standard of excellence.
I remember part of the lack of appeal in the Adventures of Indiana Jones series was that there was a point where the pegs had “German Mechanic” figures and nothing else. I had Indy, Toht, “Civilian Clothes” Belloq, the Cairo Swordsman, and “Soldier Disguise” Indy. I remember drooling over the pictures of the playsets, but never found any of them “in the wild”.
Professional Video. Knocked it out of the park. The Indy line really is something special. You really showed that with those beautiful pictures. I did have a couple of the figures as a kid growing up. I wager the Indy line needed to be marketed to an older demographic that didn’t really exist. Possibly could have marketed more to the modelers crowd. You can’t blame Kenner though for that. Indian Jones was more for an older demographic. I think it was also the fact of so many great lines were competing with each other at the time. 😊
What I do like is the extra effort for detail when displaying the toys. For example, when you showed the Kenner Star Wars bounty hunters at 12:38, you displayed them exactly as they stood in the movie, when we first saw them in Empire Strikes Back.
Thanks for the video. Great list, can't argue with any of it really. Love to see MASK on here. I wonder what the new MASK toys from Loyal Subjects will be like.
Great video! I absolutely loved Beast Wars but it’s hard for me to really consider them Kenner since it’s a Hasbro brand that Kenner made after the buyout. A guilty pleasure of mine is Bone Age. They were so fun but also so brittle
Great list. Still love that first set of Batman movie figures. Although the figures were not screen accurate, I love that they fit in with the Super Powers scale. The Joker figure looked great and looked somewhat like Jack Nicholson. Bruce Wayne was pretty spot-on Michael Keaton 🦇 🃏
I suspect the Indiana Jones sculpts were also borrowed from the Lone Ranger action figure line - a very short-lived and limited line, but great little figures - nicely detailed if nothing else. The guns could be inserted into hip holsters, which for me was a very nice feature in any figure wielding a pistol/blaster.
We (my older sister and I) had Steve Austin and the lab playset and also most of the 'Star Wars' Ep IV main characters. I acquired a plastic toy boat at a flea market that rattled peculiarly because somebody had closed up an action figure in the hull. It was completely mummified in masking tape, making it kind of creepy-looking when I popped the boat open and found it. It turned out to be a first-series Boba Fett that some kid had decided to hide, for some reason. It was so long ago that I can't tell you whether it had the working rockets or not; I was so young I didn't even know what I had until years after it was lost to childhood toy history.
So pleased to see the Super Powers line making the list! Regarding Batman's closed fists and a "Batarang" accessory, that would have been easily remedied with extended wing tips on the `rang (to serve as grips) and small holes in the fist for insertion. He could wield his most iconic bat-gadget, AND be ready to knock the Joker's lights out, lol. Basically, something akin to what they did with the Batarang that was supplied with the first (and god-awful) 1989 Batman movie figure (with that terrible pudgy face-sculpt that was "supposed to be" Michael Keaton), which featured a retracting "bat cable" (stemming from the utility belt buckle, and the Batarang was sculpted to thread the cable through for a smooth "ascension" - well, if you've seen the figure, you know what I'm on about)... However, the figure's hand was sculpted in a more traditional "relaxed" c-grip or "accessory grip" rather than a closed fist, but it could have worked either way. It really is too bad the SP figures did not have more accessories, but, the upside of that is, that no accessories provided = no accessories LOST.
The kenner Aliens and Predator line 1992 was class and fun back in the day and was just before the jurassic park still better than neca that falls apart in your hand and even fades and reacts in sunlight. Also the Terminator line was ok too for the time
Great evaluation on the Batman: The Animated Series toyline, but Mech Wing Batman deserves some love as well. That glider was a thing of beauty, and his silver colouring wasn't too gaudy.
Damn! I missed out on most of these toys. Almost all of them came along when I was an adult. The only one I may have liked was Steve Austin, but he never appeared in toy shops. None of my friends owned one either. I wasn't even aware that there were Star Wars Toys out there, because I lost interest in the franchise the moment those sodding Teddy Bears made their debut. Bloody hell, I missed out on so much fun. Fair play to all the lucky children who got to experience these now classic toys when they were young. You lucky beggars.
@@timothyward8695 speak for yourself. TOTAL JUSTICE had the very rare combination of both collectability and playability. It's as if each hero was pulled directly out of the 90s JLA comics. Despite having only 5 points of articulation, this toyline looked better then anything MARVEL had out at that time. Which had me very disappointed since I prefer MARVEL over DC.
Holy crap a top 10 toy list with toys I actually had! lol. Unfortunately when I was in middle school my step fther forced me to throw away most of my toys, and I lost the rest when my mother divorced him and he did something that made it impossible for me to pack the rest. But the one toy I managed to salvage from my early childhood was my combat belt Batman. Still have him too. But I had the Jurassic Park toys, Power of the Force Star Wars, Batman Returns (Which would be on my top 10 kenner list) I especially wish I could have saved my Lost World toys, especially the Bull T-Rex.
Jurassic Park/The Lost World is easily my favorite toyline ever. Human figures with cool attires, over-the-top equipment and cute dinosaur babies; cool vehicles with a plethora of action features; and gorgeous dinosaurs from many species. I didn't really mind that most humans weren't movie-accurate. The line itself felt like its own thing, much like The Real Ghostbusters or Aliens, both of which had their own interpretation of the live action characters.
Great video and all solid picks with a lot of reasoning behind them. I have never understood why they insisted on making all of those "gimmick feature" versions of Batman in such ridiculous color schemes.
I'm always surprised when I hear that The Raiders of the Lost Ark line was a flop, as I and all my friends had it (not to brag but I had the most complete set, all I'm missing is the truck (lack of space most likely), and as kids that small group represent the entire world. Plus the line did get two waves.
Another great top 10 Tony! I’d like to say that Kenner is the GOAT for toy lines but that would make a great debate video in the future with some other content creators where you each come prepared to battle it out. It might be a bit subjective and biased, but would be fun. 😊
I have a few Hasbro versions of the Indiana Jones Kenner figures and I think they’re great so if those suck and the Kenner ones are even better than that and the $6 million dollar man are their best lines
I'm really looking forward to the loyal subjects release of new M.A.S.K. toys. It's been a long time coming. However I do wish Hasbro had started a classified size range of them.
Personally, I would have chosen, Total Justice (excellent sculpting, weird to look at, but they grow on you) , the Man of Steel line, and the Legends of Batman line, and a shout out to the weird Legends of the Dark Knight line too.
Haha, definitely not, way too much Batman, I just wanted to highlight Total Justice, an underrated line. you have an excellent list, I can’t fault your choices, keep up the good work.
@@jasperswarp I liked what they were going for, but the sculpts were lacking. I have the Superman and Green Lantern from the line. The figures all look deformed humanoids standing with their arms and legs spread out wide like sumo wrestlers. Plus, the figures are flat out 90s in design. Mullet Superman, Spear-hand Aquaman, Kyle Raynor Lantern.
I googled yesterday 1970's Brittians toy soldiers and came across a box of knights boxed couldn't believe the price £75+ and I had this set Now i wish I never gave them away. If I knew then they'd be in a cabinet now
Personally, I'd have added Kenners Aliens toyline to the list. Maybe not as popular as your 10 but this was a great line. Lots of different and interesting aliens, human figures with action accessories and a number of vehicles, which i think some people may forget the Alien line had like 5 or 6 vehicles. Still, great list. Six Million Dollar Man is an all time favorite of mine.
JP is the best. I have loads of series 1 toys on a shelve above my computer. Probably 90% of them. They still look great to this day. In fact they are better quality than the modern JP line.
If this was a top 15, I'd like to think other toy lines would have got a chance to make it into the list like Sky Commanders, Starting Lineup, Aliens/Predator, Swamp Thing, RoboCop & The Ultra Police and even the honorable mention itself, SilverHawks; but as the top 10 it is, I think it is mostly well done. Although personally, I would have made the Indiana Jones one a 2nd honorable mention to make room for Sky Commanders, but as Tony said, is a personal favorite of his so I understand.
You can in fact fit all 4 Ghostbusters in Ecto 1, I have them in there now. 2 in the front, one on the gunner chair and one in the back with plenty of room.
No, you in fact have three _in_ the Ecto 1, and one _on_ the Ecto 1, plus the back does not a seat for figures. It's like saying the battery compartment of the Millennium Falcon is space for figures.
I don’t think it’s comparable to a battery compartment. It’s like riding in the back of a pickup truck, something that people did all the time in the 80s. It’s still not as bad as the Extreme Ghostbusters Ecto one that could only fit two barely
The original Star Wars lines were my faves. Only had the Darth Vader TIE Fighter, Land of the Jawas set and a diecast Imperial Star Destroyer and some figures, but I liked the pre Special Edition Star Wars. Still, it could've benefitted from having the articulation of Hasbro's G. I. Joe: A Real American Hero. Funny you referred to Kenner being acquired by Hasbro, as in Gary Larson's Toy Galaxy/Secret Galaxy UA-cam channel, when a video cites Hasbro getting control of a competitor, Mr. Larson quips: "Hasbro- Till all are one." 😀
He jokes "Hasbro... till all are one..." You'd think that would be a complaint for a toy collector, but _Dan_ Larson would go on a shill for Hasbro on multiple high profile occasions.
hello there bud . do you have any of the figures they made of you . I am from uk to in Newcastle and would be an honour to own one . love your channel and thank you for you service God bless you . totally respect
Loved the Ghostbusters, Im honestly surprised I had as many silver hawks as I did. I was a TMNT kid, but I did have spots of other toy lines. didnt get Animated series batmans but had other bats and the vintage super powers superman and batman, I wish Mcfarlane would have made a better batman in that re-release. and the ghostbusters firehouse was awesome. yes stay puft was small. but there was a plush that scaled better with them. he was still a ghost.
Great video Tony agree on everything. I only wish I knew of the Indiana Jones figures as a kid as I definately would have wanted them ans now they are a fortune and unfortunately along with the awesome playsets, out of my budget.
Which line do you consider to be Kenner's best?
@AnalogToys imo the indiana Jones line suffered because of the popularity of star wars. Which is a real shame because it was a great line.
Batman TAS should have been way higher on the list.
It has to be Star Wars for me it was my first action figure toy line
@AnalogToys For me, Star Wars (NOT Hasbro), M.A.S.K., & Centurions in that order.
Original Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back in particular.
Brilliant video Tony. Kenner made my childhood plain and simple.
I used to love the Ghostbusters HQ just being a regular building. It made a great villain hideout when I played Robocop or Spider-man where it would be Kingpins building.

That was really great man! What a nice blast from the past. I was a Star Wars kid but also loved 6 Million Dollar Man. Always wanted that Big Foot!
Fantastic! Wake up on a Sunday morning, new Analog Toys video and it's a Kenner Toys video.
Get in! 👍
Very pleased to see M.A.S.K so high. Great vehicles yes, but a great set of villain figures too.
Can't go wrong with a Kenner Favorites List. Fun video Tony.

Starting Lineups!!!
Great video! Really enjoyed this one!
Awesome company, awesome list, and even more awesome toys! Those were the days for sure.
Great list, I like that you have both Star Wars lines on here, both are big parts of my life
Excellent list. I actually had at least one or two items from each of these toylines. They cemented an entire generations love of world building toys. Kenner toys were.just incredible.
Great video and synopsis of each toyline. Again, Tony, even with your short videos, you set a high standard of excellence.
This video brought back so many memories! MASK and Centurians in particular don't get enough recognition these days as great toys.
What a video! Pure Awesomeness!! Thank you Tony!!
Thank you Tony. Great video and so many beautiful memories! Vintage Star Wars is also my #1, Super Powers is not too far behind though.
Awesome list and video Mate. Well done. I thoroughly enjoyed it. 👊😁
I'm still impressed the pleather cloak on vintage 4-LOM is still good after 40 years, when modern materials fall apart after 10.
Great video and I won’t argue with that list despite only ever owning MASK and original Star Wars toys.

Solid list Tony! I like your criteria. Agree 100% on this list!
That Infrared Batman slander! Lol great list Tony, sorry you’re sick, but you sounded great here 🫡
Great video, Tony. Some fantastic toys there. Always has to be Star Wars at No1 for me too. Awesome mate, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video. Great list, can't argue with any of it really. Love to see MASK on here. I wonder what the new MASK toys from Loyal Subjects will be like.
So jealous of your original Indy collection! I have the retro hasbros which will have to do.
Excellent video Tony. I really enjoyed watching it 🙌🏼

The Joker figure looked great and looked somewhat like Jack Nicholson. Bruce Wayne was pretty spot-on Michael Keaton 🦇 🃏
Great video, as always.
No doubt that Star Wars is top, but MASK second is deserved - I loved it. I'd have put Centurions a little higher, though 😊
A great video Tony - thanks for your efforts on it.
Great Video, can’t argue with Star Wars being 1, but MASK was my favorite
I loved this!

Another AMAZING video! Love your content, thanks for sharing! 🍻🔥👏
Another great video, Tony.
this was really good, I also loved the Aliens\Predator lines
I feel like you could play toy bingo with these top 10 lists, if you had at least one toy from each line you get a bingo.
So pleased to see the Super Powers line making the list!

Another great top 10 video. Samantha appreciates that fact that you may do a female Kenner toy line video.
Thank you for another great video 🤠👌👌
The kenner Aliens and Predator line 1992 was class and fun back in the day and was just before the jurassic park still better than neca that falls apart in your hand and even fades and reacts in sunlight. Also the Terminator line was ok too for the time
M.A.S.K is so under rated. My absolute favourite !!
Hey Tony👋Great video!!!
M.A.S.K. Would have been my personal No.1, but can’t really complain being No.2 behind Star Wars.
Super video👌👍
Excelente vídeo, me encantaron todas las lineas

Awesome video mate
Kenner is KING !!
You left out TOTAL JUSTICE.
Rightfully so. They weren't one of the best.

Great video Desert rat , 💯 Star Wars number 1 , but number 2 for me super powers 😊
