Seeing Jon Richardson and mat baynton together. when worlds collide
I've had crushes on both of them so I'm loving my life watching this vid 😂
@@eviebradney2068 *coughs* feeling called out by that comment WOW
FYI: That was the year without a summer, it was so cold and miserable, they had to stay inside all the time. They challenged each other to write the best spooky story, and out of it came Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein". So just think, if the weather had been nice, there'd be no "Young Frankenstein", no Munsters, no awesome and classic Halloween costume, etc. Sometimes bad weather is a good thing!
Bad weather is always a good thing, mate ;)
Sparkle Scribe So you love a rainy night, huh? Me too, but as a Florida resident, I'm not a big fan of hurricanes,😨. It was just interesting how bad weather was such a big factor in the creation of Frankenstein. Makes you wonder how else history, literature, etc. has been influenced--like, what was the Butterfly Effect of bad weather changing the winner of a battle or war, for example. IDK, I think about a lot of weird stuff, that's why I have SpaceCadet in my tag name, lol. My folks say they don't know what planet I live on in my head, but it must be a fun place because I sure do spend a lot of time there, 😆.
Oh hurricanes are scary!! It is interesting how weather affects things. I know that rain always gets me in the creative zone.
And doctor Polidori also wrote the first modern Vampire story during that period 😀
I actually remember studying that in my English 101 class.
"Nooo...it's just a villa in Geneva...it's going to be shiiit!" Best line! :D
also "get in my friend!" But - yep.
@@jayeasson2910 Thought he said "lit"
Mary was half my age when she wrote Frankenstein. My levels of jealousy are immeasurable.
the holy music while she describes the drugged out doctor.
too appropriate
So that’s how we got Frankenstein. A lot of people high.
Annie and Elsie of Arendelle yup, pretty much. High and bored.
and through the premature death of Shelleys baby and a weird dream
Jon Fucking Richardson! I would've loved to hear him actually saying the lines in his high-pitched voice
Am I the only one who thinks he's overrated? He's quick, but not THAT funny, imo.
Okay, the Mary Shelley in this alone seems like someone you want to be friends with.
definitely up for a party. And...FRANKENSTEIN :)
1:28: OH MY GAWD. I think that might be L- L- L-Matt Baynton!!!
XD
Hamlet M half sister
Mat*
UK version:
"I'm a bit scandalous, you can't handle this!"
American version:
"OMG, I'm pissing out of my balls!"
Honestly, the UK version is more crude to me.
Uk version is so much better lol
I found this show by mistake. Best mistake I ever made!
I know right.........so funny
Yay! Mat from 'Horrible Histories'. :)
Alyson Rodrigues
Gotta love Mat Baynton
Im so thankful you made this video. A whole sitcom could be built around these guys.
Does this count as literature revision
One of the real things I memorised of Shelley's biography, was, that he had blew up a tree and I still can't get over it :D
well trees can be pretty sexy...
what, with gundpoweder?
is it weird that the narrator looks bang on like Percy Shelley's portrait?
Analysed the sh*t out of "Love's Philosophy" for my GCSE English paper. Thanks Percy for that gem of a poem..
I also contoured his little black and white painting photo in the anthology with my pencil when I was bored in class so now his jawline is *chiseled*
Oh snap Jon Richardsson!
she is so funny
Omg, it's the actress who played Pippa and Jon Richardson. Love them!
Jessica Knappett is a delight
What is it about GeNEva?
Switzerland...laudanum...euthanasia...I'm feeling something here
so many ppl going to Geneva
Byron
Fleming
Shelley
prob many more
This narrator is the best lol
Tourism wasn't what it used to be when taken on tour with Percy Bysshe Shelley: all the echoes of Ghengis Khans became wrapped up in Frankenstein's charms.
Mr Faust I appreciate what you say - does that make you an ecrivain sans pareil?
love Jessica knappett
Black Sand thanks, I was wondering who this was and they didn't credit her
C'mon Maaaaaaarryy
"he's off his boxxxx"
Ikr I laughed much at that one :)
she's adorable
This probably interests absolutely noone, but when we did a play about Mary Shelley and competed in a festival, we needed a hash tag to put on our t-shirts.
And because Percy's full name was Percy Bysshe Shelley, (pronounced bysh) we came up with #byssheplease and I am still kind of proud of that. ^^
Also fun fact about Mary: She kept her dead husband's heart and carried it around with her, after she died it was found in her desk wrapped in one of his poems.
Where can I buy one of these tshirts
This....is what I trained for
*Shelley
what the fuck I need some good history on the romantic poets and I find this shit
CloudDino You were doing serious research so you clicked on something called "Drunk History"? Well played.
I hope you at least had a laff X
I love her...
I...wannabem ates... withTHAT g irl...! XD
I really do. Shes fun.
I wish you'd show the whole thing and I wish you'd show the other episodes (the one she does with her friend about Queen Elizabeth I and Mary of Scots is soooooooooo good!!)!
Come on, what revenue are you losing by letting Americans see this???? We NNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEDDDDDD it.
(well...Brexit, you do too)
Please please please release the histories. They're so much better than hard drugs to give the brain a break in these tumultuous times.
I am holding your virtual hand right now Ruth. No sarcasm. For reals. X
I've seen feature length movies on this event that weren't as entertaining or good with the deets ;)
Ok, I don't think he had a helmet that said "good times"...but the rest is on the money!!
But I thank you so much for the kind words. For reals :)
This is pure perfection !!!!!!!!
I want a helmet that says good times...
this programme is gold
Omg I want to see the full episode
Derek Waters is a genius, for coming up with this show!
Mat is so tall
I wanna see a Percy fawcett, Amazon related one
Did NOT expect to see Mr Mat Baynton in this 😂
Actually Percy Shelley married Mary Shelley, the daughter of Mary Godwin (nee), Mary Wollstonecraft.
This one's pretty funny, its funny in her head I like it
Then the Lone Cyberman randomly appears and crazy shenanigans ensue.
Mat Baynton in Doctor Who, yes please!
MATTHEW BAYTON!!!
"BYRON!!!"
I need to see Jon as the main character in a period drama
She knows how to work this because she made them have to make that helmet
Oh dang u got the same "Byron" as the one on the other video. Props for consistency but i guess its also easier to pay the same dude maybe. BTW at 0:50 its going to be 'What???"
Oh wow, I did not recognise Morgana Robinson. I mean she looks great either way but she has lost A LOT of weight.
Never knew how tall Mat was.
No Jon Richardson is just really short
Dr who has entered the chat
This is what I trained for!
1:18 The guy on the left looks like a cross of the Dr and newt
is that Pippa from The Windsors
What does this woman have against Geneva? XD
OMG Mary !!!! The actress plays pipa middleton on ''the Windsors''
Who is this guy? He's like a poor man's Tom Ellis. He's still handsome.
Well that is what made greece out of thin air
"Come in, come in, come in!"😂
Whilst despairing during a global pandemic, brexit and a democratically elected western government lying about nets in the channel this has cheered me up. Not much, but maybe just enough.
What is wrong with Geneva?????
I like the UK version, but it's not quite as sweet without Derek shepherding the comedian along.
Can someone please tell me where to find this full episode?
I Want byron's holiday too!😂😂😂 Him and his Friends!
0:05 why does he look like a butch lesbian 😂🤣
A Foam Dome...NICE.
Are these supposed to be this short? Entertaining but incomplete 🙁
this lot was basically skins but make it goth literature i luv it so much
Good Times!
It's not as funny when you intentionally add goofy additions instead of playing it as straight but drunk.
Go watch the boring USA version if you can't handle some extra humor that makes it so much funnier...
They do that in the US version as well, but not to the same extent because they're usually not as drunk. Thing is, if American comedians got as drunk as the British ones, they'd pass out. Binge drinking isn't as big in the US. Well it is where I live, but we're an exception to the rule.
I cannot help but wonder if it has anything to do with the general state of history education in the respective countries.
Because I repeatedly hear history education in the US is absolutely dismal. So I wouldn't be surprised if the reason they're more faithful to the history isn't that if they weren't, no one would know what they were talking about. Whereas in the UK version the additions are hilarious because people _know_ what actually happened.
(Yeah, I know this is an old comment, but I'm honestly surprised no one has brought up my point yet.)
can you at least spell "shelley" right lmao?? disrespect
HaveYouSeenATimeLord can you help me
*when you realize this is a drunk show*
don't disrespect the second e!
Mary Godwin! I'm a Godwin too...!
do you share genes with the creator of "Frankenstein"? Cause that would be pretty awesome X
Is that pippa from the Windsor’s ? 🤣
Ahahaha just have finished reading Frankenstein
smoking this while high is fucking amazing
This narration is the worst I've heard.
This looks the the outside of Professor X's house.
We are hearing It was a sick ostrich...
ok but what does this chick have against Geneva? It's a beautiful city
who is the woman who narrates it?? she is hilarious
Rebeka Beka ikr,
Its Jessica Knappet
Who is that playing Mary please?
Where to stream full episode?
JON RICHARDSON
Who plays Mary?
Morgana Robinson, she really doesn't normally look the way she does here, which is a shame
Stop posting clips!
What can you do, eh? Still better than nothing. They have to make money from the show, otherwise they would stop making it. If they give away the whole segment, who would visit their website, let alone buy the episode?
Mary yawning
You can tell she is reading
Uhhnet she’s not you idiot
1:02 ur welcome
Watching this after Ghosts Series 2 is...
O O
Extremely ironic?
Poor Thomas lolll
Ey
Mat 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
0:59 fav part lmao EUGH!!
Lol, what a fucking horrid name for a lake lol
whats the name of this narrator?
Yeah, a sitcom with Mary and Polidori would be brilliant!
The British version??? I f’ing LOVE it! As long as I can get some of the lingo🍻🍾🌏📚🍾🍻
I don't think the british understand the concept of drunk history. They're trying to be funny. That's not what makes drunk history funny.
What makes drunk history funny is when the narrator uses drunk speech to describe real facts, not when they make shit up to be "funny."
Erm... that's what the USAmericans do, and their version of Drunk History is boring. They actually also make some slight jokes, but you can hardly tell they are comedians, they just seem to be drunks.
These Brits however show their comedic skills even when being totally pissed. It's just because when telling a story (any story) they can't help but to be funny...It just adds so very much!
HolandaChiquita I like both. British are more rowdy and the Americans just take it in their stride, like they are telling real history like a historian.
It's the difference between Ricky Gervais and Jon Stewart.
Alex Newson I don't think that's the best comparison...
+Alex Newsom Same here. Seems like on every video there's a bunch of people whining about how the UK verison isn't enough like the US version, and vice versa. Just watch the version you like and ignore the other one, it's not hard. And those of us with a broader sense of humor will enjoy both!
yeah mate not really jon stewart can be rowdy have you not watched his show?
