In this charming, critically acclaimed tale of rumors and reputation, Olive (Emma Stone), an average high school student, sees her below-the-radar existence turn around overnight once she decides to use the school's gossip grapevine to advance her social standing. Now her classmates (Amanda Bynes, Aly Michalka) are turning against her and the school board is becoming concerned, including her favorite teacher (Thomas Haden Church) and the distracted guidance counselor (Lisa Kudrow). With the support of her hilariously idiosyncratic parents (Stanley Tucci, Patricia Clarkson) and a little help from a long-time crush (Penn Badgley), Olive attempts to take on her notorious new identity and crush the rumor mill once and for all.

That's just coincedence. No American actors or actresses have names minus vowels. It's not like there are that many Hollywood stars that don't have an A somewhere in their name. The movie is modern day satire playing off "The Scarlet Letter." Only in this case, a girl is pretending to be a whore so that no one razzes her about being a virgin.
Except for your name, most of the earth has an A in their name. I didn't use 'world' cause it didn't have it.

***** Finished with it. Yes indeed, that movie also includes those both qualities: great humor and good taste. And both movies dive pretty thoroughly and entertainingly into high school life.
Easy A has more inventive and apt sitccom and verbal contact, and Emma Stone puts up a better acting performance than Lindsay Lohan. But the point about deeper basic message goes for Mean Girls.

I don't know why, but I'm kinda obsessed with this film. It's one of those "simple" things I gotta rewatch every few years. Maybe because the story and characters are, like, the poster posse for the one storytelling method I've been trying to master but never have been able to. Stupid simple but also...kinda complex, delivering, and transformative.
Same here. You should also watch Bad Teacher, I consider it to be very similar to this film but like...teachers instead of students 😂

@@OldsVito Oh yeah I know where that is! I had a a couple friends who lived out there, I'm not sure if they went to that high school though. I grew up in Thousand Oaks, not too far away. I definitely miss it there.
@@OldsVito Yeah, quite a few other celebrities too, mostly in West Lake. She went to the same high school I went to (thousand oaks high) but she graduated a while before I did. My brother sort of knew her though, he was a couple years older than her I think but they had similar social circles. I remember seeing her walking around the campus while I was playing at a little league game when I was a child, probably around 2002 or 2003. That was before I knew she lived around there so I was pretty confused at the time, I just recognized her from the Amanda Show. I'm pretty sure she went to Colina high school as well which is where I had my little league games.

Just finished watching this movie and I absolutely loved it! The jokes were pretty funny, the characters were brilliant and the acting was AWESOME! Loved Emma Stone in it!

I loved Lisa Kudrow's part in the movie as the guidance counciler... She creates a great twist in the movie that complicates quite a lot... Although I can't help but see her as phoebe no matter what role she is playing. I LOVE HER!
