This band is so good. You have catchy driving tunes, saloon-sounding music and then at times a sort of oldies sound but it's still all fresh. And they are actual musicians. And the lyrics are good too.
Great way to describe them in a few words. Such a brilliant recipe to keep people like me in awe lol. It's crazy but I've not listened to them until the last couple days either. Everything going on with this song...instrumentally, lyrically and in the way he delivers it has had me going back to it and trying other tracks I have never heard, and there's not been a song done live on UA-cam that I didn't play 2 or 3 times on repeat...so far I can't bring myself to stop and soak in the 10 or so I've put in a playlist. Other than what he did about a decade back with Dawes and Delta Spirit's front guys in folk rock super group Middle Brother, just about every song by Deer Tick is new to me. I knew they made music I liked and I kept keeping them in mind for some other time. Thankfully, this is the song that made me take notice...I was excited to hear more, expectation higher than usual. I'm more than impressed, as each listen, like I more than hoped, adds to the original sound I love here. Anyone who loves Deer Tick should not pass on the collaboration album I mentioned. Both the album and band are called Middle Brother and "Million Dollar Bill", "Blue Eyes" and "Daydreaming" are great songs to start...but really every single track sounds better than you could expect to get from most "super-group" albums... they are usually so over managed and also under developed. Folk Rock gem imho.
I saw them in San Antonio in 2012 and they were stellar. Mcauley is the best of Eddie Cochran, Townes Van Zandt and Kurt Cobain. This concert should have 50 million views.
I have been obsessed with this video for weeks now. I listen to it at least 2-3 times a week...can't get enough of it! Hoping they come back to Maine so I can see them again soon!
If I Should Fall From Grace With God' is an absolutely perfect cover to play in London. So cool. And then the new song after is fantastic. Gotta love Deer Tick. They remind me of The Replacements in many ways (which is a good thing).
Seen them live at a bar in Albany NY and at Plymouth State college in NH. about four years ago with some friends...one smashed hotel TV and a hungover fifty minute flight home. Can't appreciate these guys talent enough
Absolutely brilliant band. Saw them live at benefit show a few weeks ago not knowing any of their tunes. I left with one of their discs and then got the rest in a matter of days. Can't wait to see them again.
was there, incredible set, great recording (although I hate when the crowd breaks the flow of dirty dishes, pissed me off then, pisses me off every time I watch).
Whenever the uptempo ending of "Ashamed" comes on, I always think they are going to rip into a two-minute instrumental, but then it ends. Also kinda funny how much John McCauley is starting to look like Macauley Culkin.
love the music but the pogues are an irish group not a london band.they might live in lon don but there irish .thats like me calling ye a canadian band lol
christ jesus was, yeah. and war elephant had less original work. not to take anything away from it of course. but i think black dirt sessions is a better album to showcase John's talent, not owing as much to other artists. if that makes sense.
I've legit watched this 2000 times.
The sound person deserves some serious props.
Criminally underrated band..

I re-watch this video at least once a week while at work. I really dig their new music, but this set list is so fucking good.
One a year? Rookie numbers!
I've been listening to this on a regular basis since early 2014. Still keep coming back. Miss these goons!
Same! 😁
Wow, the drummer is a fantastic singer. Love his voice
Love Dennis.
Eat your heart out, Levon...
Can’t wait to see them this weekend!
This video is my favorite Deer Tick album. Hope it stays up forever.

This is my favorite version of Dirty Dishes I think.
One of the best.

Replacements meet Nirvana with a bit of Hank Williams thrown in...
Go see em live if you get the chance. You'll not be disappointed...........they love playing & it shows!

I love you ...John!
Great show!!!
And an appearance from Robert Ellis! He's just about as amazing as Deer Tick.
"Let's All Go To the Bar" always makes me think of Patrick's on Smith St.
This performance is sick
this was so rad!
wow , i love it !
Awesome DT !!!
Let's All Go To The Bar
Young Deer Tick with Robert Ellis. Sick.
This crowd needs to be significantly drunker and significantly more insane...I don't think they realize who they're watching
That's London for ya. it's a different story up North
this is a stupid comment
Not everyone is from Smith Hill...
Great band
I wonder what this band would sound like with Niels Cline in it?
was there, incredible set, great recording (although I hate when the crowd breaks the flow of dirty dishes, pissed me off then, pisses me off every time I watch).
I love Deer Tick's War Elephant. It is one of my fav folk/indie albums up there with My Morning Jacket Tennessee Fire
Whenever the uptempo ending of "Ashamed" comes on, I always think they are going to rip into a two-minute instrumental, but then it ends.
Also kinda funny how much John McCauley is starting to look like Macauley Culkin.
brilliant music
White Freightliner!!!!
I'm not usually this guy but uh, 88 dislikes?
+BUSINESS MEN trying to figure that one out myself. awesome show from an awesome band and recording is great
World is cancer happy new year !
95 people who just wanted them to sound like somebody else.
holy fuck
Great Choice of song bro but I think the picking is very important to the start of the song imo..
love the music but the pogues are an irish group not a london band.they might live in lon don but there irish .thats like me calling ye a canadian band lol

i thought black dirt sessions was a really good album. just different
Pause....play. Ahahaha

the bump is not what i consider a good song and it breaks my heart for penguins
Did you have an aneurysm halfway through that thought?
This new commercial setup from UA-cam makes videos unwatchable
their drummer is a far better vocalist
the new kurt cobain
Yeah, lets hope not.
@@OxfordTown why? Did you see the reunión show with him?
I remember seeing john and others playing sets in people’s apartments in Providence.. long ago
