I play both (but i usually use mostly online materials, which means pdfs, D&D Beyond (on the D&D 5e side) and Archives of Nethys that is completely free (on the Pathfinder 2e side.)
Recently made the jump from 5e to pf2e and am having a ton of fun with it. It helps that all kf the rules are available for free online and their remaster has made buying physical copies really easy as well
pf2e has a lot going for it! they really did a good job at taking the dnd system and making it feel unique enough to be difference but not so different that it isn't easy to transition into
For me, Pathfinder is too crunchy, it reminds me of a warhammer 40K game that takes 4 hours to get through two turns of combat! But maybe Im just scarred haha!
I think the "crunch" of pathfinder is generally over stated. As far as the number crunch goes it really isn't that bad you might have at most 3 numbers to keep track of on any one roll. I think the real barrier of entry is trait memorization.
Show of hands. Who plays PF2E and who plays D&D 5e?
I stick with PF1E.

How're you going about the character creation since the transitioning?
@@UzimaOyin my group primarily used d&d beyond for their characters so they made the jump straight to path builder and have been enjoying it.
@@jonathanbarker831 mmm that's great. So what theme do yiy enjoy most when creating your minis?
@@UzimaOyin I'm not super artistic so I have primarily been using pathfinder pawns after we made the switch lol!
I’ve only tried DnD5e but I’d try PF2e
Try them all!
Thats a great idea, how do you plan to go about the new characters creation?
As someone who’s dabbled in both, this was really helpful and informative!!
Thank you Kitsu!
pathfinder sounds fun. I like a lot of detailed rules if I have time to learn them.

As a player of both systems, I can say that , in my experience, PF2e turns are faster
@@miguelricardovargaswhat character are you currently working on?
@@UzimaOyin rogue. But what I personally think that speeds up is the action economy. That's how everybody knows each other's turn is over.
I haven’t played Pathfinder but it sounds a lot closer to D&D3.5 than 5e.
If i am remembering correctly i think that is around the time pathfinder came out? I might be wrong
Last I checked the adventure path subscription doesn't deliver pdfs to your door, they mail you a physical copy of the adventure.
ah yeah, I just say pdf as a catch all for any type of physical document that isn't a hard copy book. But you are right.
@@TheGameMastersTome PDFs are digital files, they're the opposite of a physical document.
@@JS-tl7jp yes, I am aware.
