We've missed your shots and quiet wisdom. Sorry you've been demotivated, and glad to hear that you are (hopefully) on the upswing. Thank you for the honest appraisal and enviable pictures. There are plenty of us who admire this... keep going if you can. 🤗
I'm so glad this camera brought you back to everyday photographs. Those are so often my favourite of yours. I've always been tempted by this line of camera from Fuji but I've never owned one, mostly because of the 35mm lens. It's just not a field of view I use. Instead I've settled on the X30. It's just a little versatile for me. Though less powerful and probably not very good at video (a feature I've never used so I can't really comment).
@@ChrisBoland 28mm. I live there most of the time. I used to use 24mm a lot but it's been a while since the X30 doesn't go there and it's been my everything camera for a while now.
Two things have always kept me back from the X100 series: the 35mm equivalent focal length and the optical finder. When shooting a 35mm I always found myself cropping to more like 50mm. And while i want to love the optical finder, having spent a lot of time shooting rangefinders in the past, I just know that I wouldn't be able to help myself and I'd be switching to the electronic finder for "the accuracy." I really hope they continue the X-E series, perhaps even continuing to use the 26MP sensor.
I agree with a lot of what you say. For a while I had the XE4 as my go everywhere camera. If it had the new sensor, a nicer shutter sound and a better EVF it would be fantastic. I would definitely consider an XE5 , but I feel that they need to give premium features to it and not treat it like a lower end small camera.
Congrats on your new camera, Chris. I always wanted to try the x100 series, even the old ones will do. The IBIS and the built in ND filter is such a great combo. Looking forward for more photos. 😊
Thank you Toni. I really enjoyed your video by the way. I was halfway through and someone distracted me! :-) I'll look forward to more of those, I thought it was really fun watching you take pictures with your friends.
@@ChrisBoland Thank you for taking time watching my video. 🥺 I do prefer your style in making content, you inspire me to share my photos here in youtube. People who are closest to me will be featured in every episode.
It is a lovely camera and I really had a tough time deciding if I wanted to upgrade my V and whilst I can see the benefits of IS and a 40mp sensor I have thus far held off. I have always found it very hard to find any faults. I love the camera for what it is and for me pocketable is only jacket and coat but where else can I find anything with this versitility? Lovely images and hope this camera continues to reignite your love for photography.
Thanks for the comment. The V was the only model I never owned, so this was an easy decision for me. From what I could see the V was a big leap and I'd certainly be very happy with it now.
I hope I didn't sound too crazy in that bit, but I was so delighted that they had simplified the design. I was going to say that even Leica bring out special editions without the dot 🙂

Thanks so much, that really means a lot. I read this while walking home tonight and I really appreciated it.
How lovely to see you back in my feed and to hear your thoughts on the X100VI. Thank you for sharing
Thanks very much Sam! 🙂
Love the colours in the beach shots
Cheers Mark, they're from Lightroom 😁

I'm definitely a convert to the 28mm. I might have to get the wide conversion lens. Thanks again for the message - hope all's well with you.
@@ChrisBolandAll good :) It's been a good start to this year for me. I hope it'll continue this way. I hope it's the same for you too.
That's great to hear 🙂

I like that red dot in the front of the camera. I kinda wish they would’ve kept it in the mark 6
I just love the simple monochrome look. But it's personal taste of course :-) Thanks for watching.
The removal of the red dot was an unfortunate choice.

@@ChrisBoland I agree if I’d had an older version then it would be a simple choice. I’m sure you’ll love this little beauty 😀
Thank you - it might inspire me to post a few more videos:-)
You don’t sell red dot cameras for sure 😂

@@ChrisBoland thought it was fun. Leica owners often want to hide the brand’s name or colored dot.
Nice to see you again!
Thank you 🙂🙂
