Hi folks we had the same issues with smart alternator. Once main battery charged it backed off so we put dc to dc charger in which charged up the trailer and extra batteries. All good.
Another very enjoyable episode! I admire your courage Alex, I thought you would have learnt your lesson last time with the oyster.. Personally, I can't stand them... Perlube Beach looks awesome!
Would be great if you could go into a bit more Detail about the batteries and why they weren't charging. For those of us that don't van yet, and things to keep in mind/look out for. Other than that great footage, beautiful place 👍
Hi Chris! We let the batteries get too low and when they reach 20% they shut off to protect themselves. This requires a jump start to get it charging again 👍🏼
G'day mate, thanks for the informative vid. Just stumbled across your channel whilst do some research for our trip in the new year. Just wondering how many spots down you guys camped from the huts so I know roughly which camp-site to book to avoid being hit by the tide. You're advice would be greatly appreciated and you wouldn't happen to remember what the tides were around that day would ya? New to all this beach camping & trying to suss out as much info as possible. Cheers 🍻
Hey mate! We were here before they turned it into allocated site and I think we were further than last one is nowadays. Can’t remember the tide heights at all I’m sorry!
Looks like you all hated every minute at Perlubie 🤣. Interested to hear what your batteries issues are in the van considering you really have a great set up with the enerdrive gear and also why your itechs in the car had issues??
Ford dealer should be able to sort out the alternator - from memory the "smart" feature can be turned off to run higher constant voltage.👌 Sounds like the aux battery in back isn't being isolated when car is off and draining start battery..
@@nowornever_ausI just got back from spending two weeks at streaky went to pelubie for a drive all new signs every we're and the local ranger always going there to check the beach

We had jackets in the boat, didn’t realise at the time that SA laws are to wear them at all times, since finding out we wear them all the time!! Thanks for commenting! 👍🏼

We had the best time here and it was fun watching it all again. Thanks for the epic times 🤙🏼
We miss you guys!!!
@@nowornever_aus We miss you guys too! We’d love to be with you over on WA x
I love how vanners all help each other. Good vlog.
Thanks you!!
Almost everyone we meet on the road is great! Everyone has the same mind set and all willing to help out when needed!
You should have kept the orange Row on them . They are exactly the same as sea scollops so you threw away half of the fish there for future reference.

oysters, drop oy soy and lemon juice bloody lovely
Thanks for the tip! We’ll have to give it a go!
Nice ep mate 👍🏼
With those itech batteries- set the capacity for them on your monitor to 90ah. You’ll get more accurate SOC that way.
Thanks mate!! I’ll change that over and see how it goes! 👍🏼
Awesome day guys! And thanks for the save haha. Can't wait to catch up again 🍻
Haha anytime mate!! Crazy to think this is when we first met yas properly! See ya on the east coast!
Definitely on my bucket list!
It really lives up to all the hype!! So amazing!!

Yeah it was terrible there! 🤣
It all came down to the smart alternator in the car, had it turned off and all is good now!
Looks like a top spot heading there in Jan 🌞
We loved it there!!!
Great camping😍
Isn’t it!

Thanks mate!! We did get it turned off not long after this, and it has been heaps better!
That tinny is a ripper nice and light 🤙
Thanks mate! That’s why we bought it! Very happy so far with it!
razor fish, teaspoon sugar salt pepper vinegar and top up with water
Cheers!
Check all you plugs they may be loose or dirty
Yeah we went over it all, turns out it was needing to turn the smart alternator mode off in the car
The rising tides would have been a bit intimidating but apart from that it looked like a great time. The tinny was such a good buy. 🙂
Yeah, keep on top of the tides and the place is amazing!!!
So happy with the tinny!!
razor fish best bait for king george whiting
Great to know! We’ll give it a go next time we get some!
pelubie is limited to 20 vans and i think 10 locals due to people trashing the place and so forth
Yeah we saw that announcement recently, it’s sad that people have no respect and unfortunately will se more places be limited because of it

Put your solar blanket out
Yeah we did once we jumped it back to life, very slow going with our cheap blanket though!
Don't spoil oysters by cooking them.
Natural oysters just aren’t for us!
No life jackets

No worries, love that spot.
Have been to many drownings on the west coast over the years.
Yeah it’s an amazing place!
