Very happy for Klecko finally getting in - it is just wrong that it took so long for him to be officially recognized for the elite player that he was. I cherish the memories of watching those Jets teams of the 80s. It baffles me how so much talent wasn't able to break the Namath curse.
If you remember the 80s then you remember Richard Todd, that should say it all !

With two inductees this could set the stage for the Jets to finally return to play in the Hall of Fame Game again this year for the first time since the 1992 Season when they played the Eagles. It certainly should.

I do not know one single NFL fan, from whatever team they root for, that does not like and appreciate how Joe played the game, and how much he deserved this. Not a player alive that played with and against Joe would deny that he was a sure Hall Of Famer, and the fact that the voters disgracefully left him out, for whatever bullshit reason, while other less talented and accomplished players- some mediocre- were voted in over Joe, was a disgrace. Congratulations to big Joe, I met him so many times when I was a kid watching him practice at Hofstra- I would take photos of the Jets, go to the one hour photo developing place, and come back for them to sign them. Joe was so excited to see his photos from the earlier practice, and signed them with joy! If anyone remembers the practice, you could meet the players walking off the field going to the locker, by a small gate, the weekday morning crowd was tiny, hardly anyone there....players would all stop and talk, and take pictures- which was rare then, no iphones, I was a teen with an SLR camera and they absolutely loved to stop and pose, it was a novelty, unlike today. This is a huge deal for the fans, his teammates and the entire organization. Congratulations Joe!

I must say I was never a jets fan. But I enjoyed watching Joe Klecko.. Joe you were so crazy strong , quick and smart.. always enjoyed what you did.. finally you are in the HOF. yay.. plus your happy ways affected many fans .. you are a great girly with a great heart.. And now you are still the same. Your mama did a great job in making you too. 👍☺️

Richly deserved. Joe was one of the most undervalued players ever. I don't know why. Big sack numbers. Tremendous strength, and outstanding against the run. Played multiple positions. I remember when he was known as "Scrappy, ex-truck driver" Joe Klecko. A very tough guy. A good person.
I am so happy for Joe Klecko. Joe Klecko and Mark Gastineau are my favorite NY Jets growing up. Mark Gastineau is next for the HOF.

If there is one defensive player that dominated the opposing teams offensive line is was this guy Joe Klecko. I watched Joe go against some of the best Centers in the 1980s when I was young and this guy just dominated them all. He was on a different level than everyone else. Congrats Joe. . Giants fan, but Klecko was the JETS LT. With him and Gastineau, that was some team. Should have won the SB. Richard Todd etc.

These guys shouldn't have to wait so long.
They should cut the HOF waiting period in the begging from 5 to 3. Stupid.
So ridiculous that he had to wait 30 years to get into the Hall of Fame. He could have been a first vote guy.
