I am as enchanted now with this movie as when I first saw it in 1972. Pete plays an outsider, a can-do type of guy, hired to repossess a jet and meets romance along the way. The locale, the romance, airplanes, a good friend... these chords all resonate with me. I did not know then that my career path would develop into becoming an aircraft mechanic, then writing maintenance manuals for aircraft mechanics at Bombardier, Boeing, Honeywell and Pratt and Whitney Canada, as well as working for a special security unit airside at Vancouver International Airport. I felt a kinship with Pete Duel as a person. I watch the movie from time to time with a touch of sadness. Part of my life stopped with his tragic death. I respond with the sentiment offered by many others, 'Rest easy, Mr. Duel.' And thank you.

Sal would have made a great Napoleon. I think he would have been one of the greatest actors of all time hade he gotten the right roles in movies. Incredibly relaxed with that deep voice and a slight edge about him. He resembles a smaller Brando but I like his personality even more on film then Brando’s or Deans. Deans more photogenic and Brando’s bigger but Sal is more a approachable because he has more of a friendly quality about him. Thank you for the upload.

Thanks for uploading this movie. It made a big impression on me when I was a kid, especially the scene in which Pete Duel catched his swordfish. I wanted to do same when I was big! I had to wait 45 years before I went fishing in same kind of boat to have same experience as Pete Duel. Ok, I had less hair and more kilo' s than Pete at the tie but -although I catched nothing- I had same fun!

This is Another Great TV Movie from 60's that is better then New Movies shown in Movie theaters! This movie was actually made in 1968! and wasn't shown until 12-10-'72! Many of the 60's TV Movies were held for up to 10 years but the average was 5 years back then so some '68 TV movies weren't shown until 1976! What a shame! But these are all great anyway! No Matter When Aired!

The Lear Jet was probably flown by Clay Lacy. I met Clay Lacy sometime around 2015 or so? I didn't know who he was. Another mechanic asked me: "Do you know who that is? It's aviation legend Clay Lacy." I knew the name, just never knew I would meet him. Took us (mechanics) onboard his DC-3 which was decorated in art deco style. Mr Lacy played Bing Crosby on his sound system. The aircraft was pristine. I'm quite sure it was in MUCH better shape than when it was brand new. Mr Lacy is still with us at 90 years old. He would have been 39 when he flew for this picture. He was 82 when I met him flying his DC-3 in 2015. We had to help him assemble his collapsible tow bar.
