Creality firmware obtaining tutorial: • Video
Followed these instructions and the nozzle carved a groove in the bed. (new to Ender printers, but I've been 3D printing for 7 years)
Just had the same thing happen to me. I'm gonna reach out
Dang, that sucks
Totally agree. It always results in the nozzle being way too low.
Same here
Literally just happened to me
Dude. I needed this like the rain needs desert sand. Thank you. I almost chucked the thing out the window. 3 days of assembly and research to use it. The booklet is useless.
I don’t mess with z offset there no point. Paper trick to get it close then auto bed level and save new settings, adjust z limit switch first to wear it clicks and nozzle kisses the bed, then manually level your bed while it’s hot, then auto bed level and then save. Then your good to go. Lot easier then messing with z off sets
Bro, you are a life saver, after I followed your directions, instantly better print and my issues went away! Godsent! I was honestly ready to send it back
Did not help one bit and my nozzle made several scrapes in the bed trying to move around
Same I’ve tried customer service but they just sent me this video.
Same and I'm trying to fix it
Same.
Everyone that said same I highly suggest taking the fan cover off your extruder and retightening your printer nozzle. Mine scraped in the beginning and I've spent the last 4 days going crazy wondering why I was getting layer shift. My nozzle screws were almost completely unscrewed. I might post the video..
@@NathanyaelConnerI hope you see my last comment
Creality - we use this exact video to level our Ender 3 Neo bed and it works perfectly. Now, a little common sense is needed, like if your nozzle is 1mm away from the bed, DO NOT move down another 3mm, right? Be sure to utilize the nobs while adjusting the bed as well. Be sure to save your settings when you're supposed to. Be sure to use Z offset and not "move z".
If you pay attention to the steps and use common sense to avoid damage, you will be happy with the results using this video.
I did all this and it still scratched the bed... what do you mean by common sense? I moved the z to 0.0 as it said then adjusted the z offset with he paper... it still scratches up the bed. Can you help at all?
@@nicscholeydid you have any luck with this?? I have the exact same question
Absolute idiot, your telling people who've never done it to use common sense,
They don't know what to do, THATS WHY THEY ARE HERE MORON
I have this 3d printer and it keeps making spaghetti and glitching such as heating the nozzle when I literally just turned it on and I didn’t print anything before so it shouldn’t resume anything. It also keeps continuing with the print even when I’ve pressed stop on the actual machine.
thank you this was exactly what i needed to get running again
thank you for teaching how level my printer, your a life saver!
Quick question: when I did the leveling for the four sides with a piece of paper, 3 sides were fine, but one side is way too tight and I can't turn the dial any more to loosen it.
Following. Having that same issue
@marcusyancey1259 I went ahead and adjusted the other three sides a couple times and it became manageable on the last. It's still tight compared to the towers but it works fine.
@@ethaneisenhauer2185 I just found my x axis is slightly off level. Got it close but it still seems a little off.
When you did the steps and ran the auto-level, did the nozzle touch the bed at the end of the leveling? Mine goes to center and presses the bed.
i had the same issue, try loosen all 4 knobs to about 75%, then auto home, and redo the bed lvl.
this worked for me :)
Hi I am brand new to 3D printing I just got the ENDER 3 NEO my question is why did the instructor change his Z offset from -3.010 to -3.120 and how did he come to that value. Please help I am really struggling with the bed tramming process. Thank you very much for your help.
Hey, from my knowledge you are supposed to change the value based on sliding a piece of paper underneath until the nozzle starts to grip the paper, you see him do this at the start. Hope this helped!
@@callumgibbondirector Thanks for clearing this puzzling part. I'm still learning so I appreciate you taking the time and sharing your knowledge, Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year.
He was adjusting to get the first layer adhering correctly. Just look up what the first layer should look like and adjust until the beads right. Hope that helps.
Don't use that number. That was for their printer. Yours will have its own values.
@@foxdata Thanks for assuring me in this matter. This was driving me nuts but as time passes I'm getting a handle now. Thanks again.
Hi, why does my strimmer hit the bed? when performing automatic leveling
Muchas muchas gracias, me ayudó muchísimo en mí primer calibración 🇦🇷
Followed these instructions and the nozzle wound up way above the bed each time, leading to zero bed adhesion. I found that I have to redo the z-offset after all the leveling to get positive results. Anyone else run into similar?
hola a mi me pasa lo mismo y no puedo calibrarla
It's very frustrating. I have The same issue. Like i can see everyone in The comments...
did you save it right after you calibrated? If you don’t save it, it will do that.
Same problem, it's so frustrating!!
Whenever i try to adjust the bed it just rams into the wires in the back and stops
thank you. that really helped me
Necesito ayuda me impresora ender 3 neo la cañibre todo y cuando imprimo o no me sale el filamento o cuando empieza la impresion se despega
You messed up in your video. You don't level the bed with the wheels on all 4 corners after setting the z offset. You do all steps including leveling with the 4 corners but after you are done you need to auto home then set z offset again then level bed and finally save configuration. It took me months to figure out why it kept printing off of the bed but it's because you set the z offset to soon. When you level it with the wheels u change the z offset
thank you so much for this comment. it kept messing up on me and i followed this video perfectly. was getting very frustrated with it and then i saw this comment and tried what you said and i finally got a decent first layer. not perfect but best ive had so far, after the first layer of the test print some strands were sticking up and kinda messed it up, probly the bed wasnt clean enough i suppose.
By bed level after auto home configuration, do you mean with the wheels or just bed level option? 🙈
he meant auto level

I just ordered this printer, hopefully I can figure out this part,
Same here, I ordered it on Black Friday and got it yesterday. Testing it out after following this video to see if I can print the Hyperion AUX case for SlimeVR by Smeltie. Hope it works well, cause cases are all I need to make FBT trackers that don't look like bombs strapped to my body lol
Just got mine today bro how’s it been for you?
You’ll be leveling a lot so you’ll get it fast
@Yammieride been good zero issues, had to print a few upgrades like the filament arm, but it's great
@shawn mulhall leveled it twice. I haven't touched it in 4 rolls of filament. Honestly, I haven't even had the nozzle out of it lol.
Great video, thank you
I did everything in the video, but the print comes out poor quality and crooked. Is there anyone who can help?
help I've scratched the bed, I follow this step by step and now I really don't know what to do... can anyone help?
Wish I read the comments before I did all this, my bed was mostly okay it just wasn't perfect, went through these steps and now it's WAY OFF.
verbal instructions would have been nice but thanks for the video
my “boat” impression is ruined every time, it doesn’t stick to the board, it’s tiring
Confused by the part where it says adjust z offset when you start the print but it says 0.2 but on the screen he puts it at 3.120??
Z-offset is just the term used to determine where the nozzle lies on the z-axis when it's showing zero. So, you can auto-home it and set the z-offset until the piece of paper has a slight bit of friction. Then go and do all 4 corners. Then use the Auto level function and save. Hope this helps as this is what works best for me!
When I choose Auto Home my 3D printer just move a couple of millimeters and then it says: "Homing Failed: Printer Halted, Please reset". Anyone know what might be wrong?
Either one of your switches is broke or your timing belt is the wrong way round
When I set the z axis to 0, the nozzle touches the bed. Is this normal?
I'm having the same problem. I can't figure out what's wrong.
@@awesomesparklepants hopefully you don't destroy your bed like I did. I also found that the glass has a slight bend to it. I'm going to run it again with a new bed this weekend.
Yes, if the z axis is zero it means that there is no height, as in zero off the ground, meaning that it should touch the bottom.
@@marcusyancey1259 did u solve it with the new bed?
@@marcusyancey1259 yer same here I completely messed it up
I’m not even done step two my 3-D printer won’t even touch the paper 0:54
Someone please help! Mine when I try to auto home says “homing failed” the y,z and x axis move but the extruder does not, any ideas?
Hi, regarding your question, please contact our official after-sales service and they will help you solve your problem as soon as possible. (Official service email: cs@creality.com)
@@crealityafter-sale5706 your after sales service was useless I’m afraid
May have to do with the rollers being to tight or not tight enough they need to be just right
These instruction are wrong / ruined my bed! You think Creality would know their own product!
2:28 this part it to confusing to me i hope i didnt mess everything up 😥
Ahahah oh my God, when I think back to how I struggled with this. I hope that a large number of people will read this, I have this printer, I also struggled with the paper and the printer was of no use to me. Fazon is not in that, today I use the same printer that I studied on and I struggled like this. Please do not do this because there is a way so simple that you are not aware. You don't need to put paper and adjust absolutely nothing
I’m trying everything but it keeps saying printer halted please reset, what do I do?
did you figure it out?
No I gave up
did you contact Creality? Don't give up on 3D printing, it's way too fun and cool. Don't give up on your money spent, either. If it's the printer, I'm sure they will fix or replace if bought less than a year ago.
Yea I bought it two years ago and I’m not sure what to do because I have never had a 3Dpriner before so I don’t know if I’m doing anything wrong
Was this during the auto-home?
I don’t know where it says Z offset
Have you figured everything out?
I think my version also had "Probe Z offset" instead, and i cant find the "motor off"
Should not ship with -2
Mine required -2.9
QA issue?
1st run guide in manual required?
Stupid human who knows X is 1D (horz), Y is 2D (vert, now we have a 2d print), Z is 3D (depth, fwd/backwrd), time is 4D.
clockwise looking from the bottom of the wheels or top of the wheels
From the bottom of the wheels. So from the perspective of underneath the bed.
If you twist the knob you can also see the spring getting smaller or bigger( depends what side you turn it ofc)
