Been pretty skeptical with these power flow kits, wouldn’t sand and dirt go straight down into your intake if they happen to make it past the filter???
If dirt makes it past the air filter, it's going into the intake regardless. The backfire screen doesn't stop particulates from getting into the intake, it's there to potentially stop the filter from catching fire if a backfire happened. But that's not something you need to worry about if you have a flame retardant filter like what comes in this kit.
Short answer: No. Long answer: The ECU is going to use information from the Intake Air Pressure Sensor and the Intake Air Temp Sensor to calculate the intake air mass. The ECU will use that info and info from other inputs to adjust the injector pulse width to match. There are limits to correction factors, but this mod will work fine without any adjustments. That said, a good tune never hurt anyone for some closed course competition. -Charles
I put this exact air glow kit on my 2021yz250f and at first it took the bike a little bit to start but then the next day it was fine. I turned the idle up a tad bit but is that normal until the bike adjusts to more air flow? Easy starter prior but like I said, it starts good now.
@@jaredamoroso8273 Sometimes bikes are hard to start after installing a freshly oiled air filter due to the fumes coming of the filter decreasing the available oxygen until the filter dries out.
