I was in a great corporate job for 10 years. And I was miserable- same work, same people, same language day in and day out, everyday was like dealing with robots. I was evolving fast and outgrowing that slave wage job. Quitting was the best thing I ever did. I wanted to quit much later but I needed to quit several months earlier so I left when I was given a strong sign. I just couldn’t do another day. In the past 1.5 years, I have grown so much as a soul working for myself, becoming my own master, becoming more authentic and true to myself. Best decision I ever made.

I’ve learned there’s a difference between actual “quitting” and letting go of what holds us back in life. You can quit on jobs and relationships, but never quit on yourself. Always follow your heart and intuition. To me, because I’m of faith, it’s God’s way of telling us what to do, and it’s how you stay true to who you are. 😊

This is legit advice. I had the lucky break of quitting what was actually a good job back when I was in my mid-20s. Think young character in a Mad Men-type environment. I was a good 5 years ahead of where most people in my career choice typically are, but I'd had a bad few months. So I walked into the COO's office and turned in my resignation. My direct boss was actually out of town and called me, asked me to stay, said she'd make it better, and gave me a raise. I call it a lucky break, because I can now reflect on that time that I almost quit, v.s. when I actually quit for real six months later. Six months later I could say that I had a significant role in turning a nonprofitable division into a very profitable one. I learned a lot over that six months of how to turn a bad situation into a spectacular one. I was offered another position at a different company during my highest-paid month ever, due to bonuses. And during that six months I was able to make industry connections I'd have never made if I'd gone to work for my dad (which was my plan when I quit the first time). Two years after that, I was able to use some of the connections I made during that six months to help start my own business, which I still have today, almost 20 years later. And it's been an awesome 20 years.
You really do have to know when to fold em and when to hold em.

So many people think of quitting at times to run away from something (including me, lol), but the much harder exercise is to figure out what you want to do next. If you don’t know what that is (like I don’t) best to soldier on in your current good job until you do

While investing during a period of higher inflation appeared daunting at first, I learned to navigate it by consulting with Joseph Sullivan Anderson, an investment analyst, who devised a strategy to shift my fixed-income investments that weren't providing adequate returns to a diverse portfolio that would provide higher returns.

I'm stuck right now, I work a job I hate for most of my week. The problem is I need some money coming in and I don't exactly know what I want to do. I'm training to be an athlete and I'm considering moving from the UK to Australia for a year as I have friends there, however, I want to go there self sustained and earning money for myself. A remote job would be ideal, I would love to work for myself to give me location freedom. The amount of hours I work is holding me back in how much work I can do at home in furthering my life so it's very draining alongside training a lot. I am interested in money and turning money into more money lol so i'm learning about investing, assets and being financially literate but I don't know in the short term how to start earning for myself and free'ing myself.

The time frame to get to the point of being a professional athlete is very short.
So the beet way could be to order your goals and/or experience into categories which *really* matter to you.
Just let assume you are in the 20s: Then money shouldn't be the first priority. You can lay foundations for the right education, sports and/or family.

    How Human Nature Works
Human nature is the desire to receive, also called “desire to enjoy,” and it functions by receiving what is beneficial to itself and rejecting what is harmful. Everything in our lives is built upon this calculation where we first try to distance ourselves from harm, and then seek how to draw ourselves closer to what is beneficial.
Human nature also includes a multilayering of systems that work simultaneously on still, vegetative, animate and human levels. One of those systems is our bodily one, which operates involuntarily. If our bodies are healthy, then they know what is good for them and draw that goodness to themselves. After the bodily system, there is the emotional system, which also functions relatively according to instinct. From the emotional system, we move to the mind, and from the mind to the intellect, and so on. That is, we have systems over systems that concurrently work on receiving what is beneficial and rejecting what is harmful.
Such is human nature and the essence of our lives. Our every desire, thought and action operates according to the calculation, “How can we receive what is most beneficial to us and reject what is harmful?”

Ryan the reason why people chose to quit is because these are the ones that are introvert. The extrovert will stay. The introverts are a different breed of people. They internally analyze and see things differently where they keep running from things that makes them feel out of place and not valued. Money can be another reason. But some of them take everything too seriously and its hard for them to lighten up and be sort of this person who can constantly dodge bullets and Improv with so many people and dont have the mental or emotional agility or the capability to perform constant verbal gymnastics with everyone and have a high level energy with their A game on every day in and out. they never settle they are constantly seeking for something better because they sense bullshit very quickly they are very smart and clever

I am 100% one of those people who have way too many jobs on my resume, but there was lessons I had to learn that have changed that.
I am 23 and have had about 8 DIFFERENT jobs in 8 years, but there is a few caveats to this. First job was McDonalds, which I quickly outgrew, i then did retail for 4 years. I wanted to grow my communication ability so moved to do call centre work, gained that skill but also realised i despised the work, and with a business plan i left with some savings to work on that, things werent gonig well so I got a part time factory cleaning job as a way to spread my experience further in case I desperately need a job and to teach me true work ethic. I achieved that and attempted the same as the call centre role, but burnt out and failed again. Decided I wanted to learn sales, so got a travel role doing that. Realised sales was not my best skill and the work was inconsistent. This was when I realised I needed the consistent pressure of a job to achieve stuff in my own time. I always thought I could carry the work ethic over once I quit but it never worked, so I have accepted that, settled for a new role but in retail, the place I stayed the longest, with the goal of actually building something consistently.
So for those like me that have had loads of jobs, it is only a weakness if you cannot adapt and learn from your mistakes, why you have had so many roles in a short time frame, what the reason was for leaving them.
I have learnt loads from the jobs I have had, as part of my process was that I cannot get the same job twice, not because i didn't want to go back to some of them, but because at that point, why did i quit in the first place.
