👌 bought the Ryobi and groomer attachment , find it fit for purpose for small yards,
Your SB groomer looks like a great machine.
Have a great weekend
Hey mate hows life in the tropics? Thanks mate have a great weekend
Mate she’s bloody 🔥
Waiting on rainy season to start to get that humidity back up
🥵
Great to see your channel continue to grow.
Great work as usual. 🤙
Hi Brenton
I have the Ryobi with both blade types, and I’m in Muswellbrook. Happy to lend it to you.
Cheers
I have the Ryobi, not with the grooming blades though. I find it chews through the batteries and is lacking in power. But with enough patience it got the job done. Saving for a Allett Stirling with some cartridges as an upgrade
Yeah I reckon it would chew batteries especially in thick thatchy lawns, But for a small lawn Id hope it would be ok. Hope you get the Allett soon mate
@@theaussielawn would be nice if they reached out to you for a test..... haha
Well done big boy,
Informative and interesting as usual!
You are the only channel to watch!
Too kind mate Thank you
Definitely be interested in the ryobi test. I just bought one. If I lived closer to you I’d let you use mine for testing it but you are too far away lol. Love the updates
Hi Steve I really appreciate that offer , Yeah its hard when I live along way from anywhere haha but in the same breath I like it here 🥳
100% keen to see the Ryobi scarifier for reference. Also too, some real world experience with the Ozito cylinder mower would be insanely helpful. Love your work mate 🤙
Thanks Jake i'll see what I can do
Second this request! would be insanely helpful for all the weekend warriors like me out there! @@theaussielawn
A fantastic vlog today Brenton. I enjoy learning from you.
Glad you enjoyed it mate
Another great video. Definitely be interested in a review of Ryobi Scarifier and weather it could perform similar role as a groomer
Thanks for the feedback mate ill see what I can do
@@theaussielawnBrent, I've always wondered how golf courses combination frequent application of PGR with grooming and scarifying, can you help me know how?
@theaussielawn Yes, please take a look at the Ryobi as it's affordable for the rest of us, the commoners 😅
awesome brotha. I was wondering how often you did this. I have the grooming cartridge for my allett sterling and love it. always wondered about those cheap-o's as they have far less tines (maybe 10%?) than your setup has.
you can definitely modify the ryobi scarifier, where the height adjuster is you can dremel or grind off the little blocking tabs that stop you going past what holes they have already, then you can drill into the same part as the other holes and make your own, ive made mine just skim the top of the grass to pull up runners and things. i have the 18v ryobi but i can imaging the 36v has the same body design
Sweet as mate !
The Tiftuf sure is impressive great to see the comparison. I would like to see your take on the Ryobi scarifier, I am hearing great reports for the home lawn. Thanks for sharing your time and effort educating all of us Cheers.
Perfect! I just put down a deposit to get an old SB 45 converted to a groomer through Australian Turf Mechinery. Can’t wait. Thanks Brenton. Awesome information for someone looking to get in the grooming process of their lawn game. I’m certainly one of them 💯👍
Well done mate enjoy the new toy when it arrives
I like my Ryobi scarifyer. It dethatches really well with minimal damage
Nice mate, Im keen to try one
Hey mate.. I’m I able to core a young lawn that was layed in Feb.. T31.. Cheers👍
Yeah definitely can mate
@@theaussielawn Thanks mate..Have a great day👍⭐️
The Ryobi vid would be great mate. I’ve got the Ryobi & love it for reno time & scarifying but I purchased the grooming attachment& wasn’t that happy with it as it was a little too aggressive & not what the grooming should be in terms of being less evasive
Ok great feedback, Im even more curious now to try it 😎
Would definitely be some value in looking at a cheap scarifier, whether it's the Ryobi or another brand. If using the Ryobi, it would be worth getting the additional spring tine reel which is meant to act more like a groomer.
If I do get one Ill make sure it comes with everything so we can look at what works best IMO
A ryobi scarifier comparison with your SB would be great.
Makita have just released a 40v model but i think they missed the mark. At $999.00 for the skin, it's around 3 times the cost of the ryobi.
Yeah I don't think I'll be dropping $900 on to something that will only be used once haha I think the little ryobi will be an ideal fit for what we are looking to achieve. Have a top weekend mate
Corbin from Brisbane cylinder mower specialists is doing brand new supaswift mowers with a grooming wheel all set up. Good value per dollar. A fantastic company to deal with.
Ohh sweet I saw they shared the vid too which is awesome
@@theaussielawn top bloke to deal with. Corbin is doing my second supaswift atm, going to run 1 of his groomers. Great products and services. I can highly recommend Corbin and the bcms team. I 👍
Great vedio
Clearly the tiff tuff is presenting less leggy and more tight knit vrs the other.
Been a while since you were rolling with a scotty out the front
Hahaha yeah come to think of it you are right it has been ages.
The Ryobi comparison would be great.
OK leave it with me
Yeah keen on the ryobi look at
Cheers mate I’ll definitely try get hold of one
i maté hope you’re doing well makita is bringing out a 40v makita scarifier im keen to try that when it comes out turf looks great enjoy your content
I hear they are very expensive though, Someone mentioned $900 skin only 😬😬😬 not sure if its true or not
I would be very interested in seeing how the ryobi goes against a proper groomer. I'm planning on building a groomer but at the moment I've got a ryobi scarifier/dethatcher!
Ok cool will see what I can do
Really enjoyed the comparisons between the tiftuf and santa ana.
Be interested to see how these two progress with the same inputs.
Thanks mate I appreciate it, Enjoy the weekend
Yeah Brent please do the Ryobi I was thinking of buying one for the exact reason your thinking of doing the test
Ill see what I can arrange mate
Great video mate can’t wait to see you using ryobi screfier 👍👍
Thanks mate, I really think the roybi is worth a look just to see if its actually a suitable option
Awesome video. Great comparison between the varieties. Glad to see you are using the 1600 more. When are we going to see the green cultivar change? Can't remember if that is slated for this season or not.
I actually sprayed out another section of the green a week ago, The change will be somewhat gradual as I continue to build up my stock of Primo Zoysia I might do an update on it in the near future
Yes for Ryobi review
I'll see what I can sort out
Second this! I have one as well as their ‘grooming’ attachment.
Great video mate,
Wowzers that tiftuf & SA is on 🔥🔥
great to have them both side on as a comparison.
Im really starting to see differences in the 2 varieties this season which is great for a grass nerd like me
@@theaussielawn grass nut myself, how’s that buff coming along out the back?
Its going ok but Ive dug up a fair bit of that area laying services for a shed up the back @@SaGrassman
yes please to the Ryobi
Would love to see the ryobi mate, I've just installed tif tuf myself.
Ill see what I can do
Keen to know your thoughts on the Ryobi
hey mate, just interesed to know how you go about cleaning your hedge up when it hits the ground, do you use a rake or a vaccume pack? if so what do you recomend chers
I actually use the Honda Rotary to clean it up
I find that my cylinder with the solid front roller doesn't cut runners at all because the solid front roller just lays them flat before the reel gets to them!
Would I be wise to invest in a teasing brush or a grooved front roller?
It would depend on what sort of mower you have, what type of grass it is and what HOC you have it set at. Grooved rollers are helpful to a point
@@theaussielawn Rover45, kikuyu at around 15mm
hey mate just wondering when is the best time to level your lawn?
I have a 18v ryobi version if you want to show it off on the channel?
I appreciate the offer mate if i get stuck I'll let you know
What do you do to stop cross contaminating between the Anna and Tiff grasses?
Believe it or not but the risk of this is considerably low, It wont happen from mowing and both varieties are sterile so it's unlikely to happen via any seed blowing about.
I should have been more clearer. I meant through stolon's@@theaussielawn
Would you do this when your using PGR
Yeah mate absolutely you can do this and use PGR at the same time
@@theaussielawn awesome cheers
Pro tip: not all ‘grooming’ is legal! 😅😅😅
Great video once again 👍
Haha Im not going anywhere near this comment. 😬
Happy to lend you a ryobi scraifyer if you're interested Brenton. Let me know and I'll send you my contact details.
Looking good mate. Hope your doing well. Cross fingers for some decent rain this weekend.
Cheers mate we got 19mm last night and it was very welcome haha
Also, i wonder what the internode length difference there is between the two couch varieties? That wound certainly make a difference with grooming.
No doubt the tiff is tighter but I just cant recall it ever being as pronounced as it has been of late
