Hi Dave, That was an extremely interesting video. Great job on the office building. Also all the little items you showed are the items that add realism and bring the layout alive. In your previous video about the competition I was amazed when I saw you standing in the loft was the number of roof supports. The fact that they are never in view when you are videoing your layout is a testament to your photography skills. It can`t be easy to video the layout and avoid having the roof supports intrude on the vision we see. So a big congratulations is warranted. Cheers Greg
Greg Hale hi grey, yes lots of roof supports... my head has kissed most of them At some stage lol Glad you enjoyed the video, while it might not look a lot, the small jobs take just as long as the bigger items at times. Thanks also for your appreciation of my filming. Dave
Wonderful video, your attention to detail is truly amazing. It's very relaxing watching your videos and a great way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon. Well done fella.

Wheezy Palace N gauge cheers Chris. It’s because there was nothing out there that really fitted the bill that I thought I’d make my own :-) I’m glad I did. Cheers. Dave
That Office Building has become a Masterpiece in it's own right Dave...excellent work. That Class 40 in it's weathered form looks superb, I know you don't like to, but a few of the coaches need slight weathering to match the loco, as it was very unusual to see the odd clean coach during the period you're modelling, never mind a whole train...Keep up this excellent work of yours, it's such an inspiration to all your followers...Regards...Bob
Hi Bob, thanks. I am very proud of what I have acheived with the office build. I have 2 or 3 more scratch builds to do for the depot (low relief) but they wont be anywhere as complex as the office, as they dont need to be. I am looking in to weathering my parcels MK1 BG coaches in due course, as I agree it doesnt look quite right ;-) Thanks Dave

Love the 40, superb. 3D printing and the laser kits, it's amazing what you can get nowadays. Also loving the David Guetta-esque incidental music and don't worry, your sieve secret stays safe with us. 😄
Dave, it must be said you’ve made a great job of the depot building - far superior to anything from a kit. And it is uniquely yours! Are you adding a roof hatch so maintenance staff can get to the vents, etc? Then you could also add a TV antenna which someone will have stuck ip there so they can watch the footy on a weekend, when theres no Managers in...! Love the furniture - really nicely detailed and fitting for such a nicely constructed building. Looks far better to have detail in the rooms, rather than leaving them as a shell. Dean Park and Everard Junction are my two favourite railway modelling channels. If you need any guidance on S&T matters for your masterpiece, please message me. Fantastic build on the office building. It will make a fine addition to your railway. Where did you get the brickwork from? It looks really good with nice crisp mortar lines.
As it's been 46yrs since I left Scotland I kinda forget the four seasons, in Oz we only have two, hot and not hot, so I laugh when you say it's to hot for the loft. When I go to the train shed I turn on the aircon as it's a must in 40c days. Nice work on the office building. Be good to see it with lights.
Charles Emerson hi cheers. 25 degrees outside here is a heat wave lol I have lights all fitted in office. Just the interiors to make and fit now. So hopefully get this all finished by end September. But I’m not rushing it :-)
Fantastic work as usual Dave and I think that Class 40 is right at home on the layout mate. Just a wee question for you mate. Would the new Hornby Class 60 as 60015 in Triple-Grey BR Construction fit in on the layout? Or would that be too late for the time period? As far as I am aware, the first of the Class 60's that was handed over to British Rail was in July 1989. That roof really does look grand and I respect you for the excellent modelling. I am going to a model railway show in Belfast tomorrow, so my video will appear on my channel tomorrow night or Sunday if you wanted to see it mate. Dave Henshaw sound decoders I use Are Legomanbiffo. Can’t beat them. They are loksound v4. With either trim iPhone speakers or sugar cube speakers. (My sounds fitted 40 has two sugar cubes, which sounds ace). The sound at the beginning of the video however is a recording of a real 40! Hope that helps. Dave
Great video dave, cannot imagine the amount of work you've put into that depot building, love the roof. Is that the kind of sand that the likes of argos sell for sand pits?
Why not just use fine grade sand paper for the roof instead of faffing around with sand? And make the down pipes out of Slaters 2mm plastic tube, cut some thin strips of plasticard or fine cardboard to fabricate the downpipe collars and fixings. Sharpen up the edges of your brickwork with 45° angles. The blinds however are awesome
sidney001 I wanted to use sand. It’s more 3 dimensional than glass paper. It was good fun. I had the downpipes already and they have detail such as pipe joins etc. Blinds were commissioned for me by scale model scenery and they’re now on wider sale. Cheers Dave
DaveClass47 I know that but don’t no why they needed to know. All I can think it was for the speed to be fast slow so and length. Unless it was to let signallers know if that was the correct train expected ie if it was a express they would know to alter the points for that ie if it was faster than the slower train or a train was late. As trained looked same or mixed use. Now a days it’s all fixed formation so you can’t tell the class in advance so you know what it is. Plus it is digatily displayed as well.
Much of the progress happen off camera and then you point at and talk over a static object about what you did off camera. That makes for a pretty flat video.
Steve Jeffryes I have to be very precise and get close to my office when fitting precision parts such as the door frame, down pipes etc. so I can do it in camera if you don’t mind close ups of my head in the way? Or my hands covering the tiny pieces of material I am handling.... trust me that’s not fun to watch either. I did some of the roof parts on camera. And watch the step by step I did on a kit... this wasn’t static. Very much the opposite. The video is a good balance between ‘static’ and active content, along with moving shots of the loco. Thanks for your feedback and I hope my reply addresses your views. Cheers

doogs126 yeah it really is a beauty! I’ll let you get back to your painting lol...
The depot is fantastic. Any driver jobs going?
Mark Taylor haha! Thanks. Dave
Cheers

Why was the disks needed. All I can think is to tell rail staff if it’s fast or slow or long short
Matthew Stamp it was to designate the type of train, for example was it a ballast train, express passenger, running light engine etc.
Hey bro like YOUR video
At 8 mins in audio goes weird but great video dave
Milo T.K cheers. Thanks. Dave
Great work! Is it just me or does anyone else get it peppered with adverts?? Annoying!
Fenton Central yes this seems to have started on some videos. I’ll look into this.
Nice one. Superb layout pal. Working my way through the last few months that I've missed :)
Cool
Cheers. Dave
@@DeanPark no problem
Cheers
