If you want to avoid Portugal fleeing to Brazil, you need to make sure that Portugal has at least 5 provinces in Europe before you full annex/vassalize them.
I can't believe i never looked into this as i remember getting surprised by the brazil pu in one of the roman empire vids. Thanks, will try to keep in mind!
@@GolemEnt They need 20 provinces specifically in a Brazil colonial nation too. So if they haven't got it started yet (say they went to Caribbean first), you're also fine
I experienced this for the first time just last week in my first ever successful WC run. It was like 1720 and I had zero of the new world conquered but figured just full annexing their overlords would transfer the colonies anyways. Portugal required 2 wars to conquer them fully, so after I took all of their European land, they fled to Brazil and that actually brought them back up over 100% total war score cost and that wasn’t acceptable. I ended up alt+f4ing but I couldn’t get to a save file far enough back to where I was still at war, but it was before they took the decision to flee to Brazil. I thought I was screwed but then I remembered I can just return provinces in Europe and thankfully it kept them from fleeing and they were still under 100% total war score cost. In about 15 years I fully annexed them and had all of South America as colonies.
One thing about Angevin England that I love is that there's literally only 2 missions from the Angevin tree that you miss out on if you don't actually form the Angevin Kingdom end-game tag. So you can have basically the full Angevin experience, dominate all of Western Europe with all your free subjects, and then instead of doing the last parliament debate for union, just form France instead and get their full mission tree too!
congrats on getting sponsored!!!
Daaam look at this legend with the COFFEE ICON! thanks so much bro
Hey man congrats on the sponsor! Good video too, I think it might be time for a new Angevin Campaign!
It's time. Go for it!
Interesting strat. Recently played an England > Angevin Empire run and had some issues getting France and managing the War of the Roses. Didn't know the rebels couldn't enforce demands during the war. So after subjegating France, I immediatly lost them due to the end of the War of the Roses. Took me a few retries to get them again. But was never able to get Burgundy and the Burgundian Inheritance, resulting in managing the AE when I was fighting the Low Countries and Burgundy. Might try this strat some time, great vid as always!
Thanks, let me know how it goes. I'm really interested if you even need to sell Calais to burgundy or if it was overkill xD
Im so glad ur channel grown so much u have sponsors, keep doing good job i love watching ur videos
much appreciated, lots more vids coming
England -> Angevin empire in this patch was my first WC, actually. Stacking separatism, AE reduction and warscore cost made the run extremely fun.
Now, this is how you form a powerful Angevine Kingdom! Super strong gameplay, as always
To be fair, in this timeline the English culture would get pretty much eradicated, probably alongside English language.
That's because the Anjevins were actually French nobles on the English throne - even in our timeline they continued to use French language and customs for a long time (this affected English to a level where today almost all refined/fancy words are of French origin).
So in this timemine they would probably just move the Empire's capital to Paris and Francofie the English all the way
Nice video mate, you explained your strategy very well.
Keep up the excellent work. Your runs inspire me.
Golem fantastic video and you know I want to see a second d part and see how far you go with this!! Thanks for the great content!
Whenever I do an Angevin run, I always vassalize Provence and then feed them Corsica. Provence's "claims of King Rene" mission gives Provence cores, not claims, cores, on Naples.
This was great, please make a part two
I know this would be the most optimal thing, but I only ever form and become the Holy Roman Empire when I’m playing as Austria. Otherwise I just destroy it, it makes diplo vassalizing the minor HRE nations easier especially if you have espionage ideas. I actually remember in my old campaign of having so many vassals that I was struggling to keep there liberty desire to high and great powers support them for independence.
Central Cee the true Henry VIII? Didnt know you were chill like that 🤯
Henry VIII be like: from yaris to urus im really a threat
Give us part 2 quickly bro!
would love to see this continue!
That's so wonderful and amusing! Please, go on, brother!
16:08 "makes the gyatt between each..."😭😭
congrats on the sponsorship!!!!
thank you!
Keep it going!!
Congratulations on getting sponsored!! I’ve been enjoying your channel heaps, algorithm was really algorithming when it suggested your videos
Part 2 please.
37:40 what tha heeeell Papal States
5:08 i recently got a 000 leader while playing Rajputana.. i think its my first 000 in 3000 hours of playing the game.. ive gotten far more 666s
I usually get as many vassals as possible, I’d get Leon, Galicia, Granada, Catalonia, Valencia, even Portugal if you happen to get them cause everything will be insta annexed into Spain PU. Same thing works for Italy
It’s also easy to get German vassals if you decide to dissolve the HRE and get them before they get over 100 development.
Im in the middle of my own angevin playthrough, its insane how easy this nation is lmao, I even fucked up and didnt get burgundy in time so they went to the palatinate and I had to become emperor before I could integrate france because I couldnt get enough provinces in the french region, ive stacked improve relations on top of infantry combat now and a bit late to the party but I managed to recover aragonese cores and finally started monching on spain and portugal since I wanted them to colonize first
Sweet campaign!
Congrats on the sponsor bro 💰💰
Brilliant video, please form the Roman Empire as Angevin Kingdom > Empire :3
Please continue, just subbed
I love this channel and a second episode would be awesome please
I did enjoy this video
You should be a prime minister of some country. that is some heavy strategy. keep em comin.
hahah thanks! :D
This playthrough was so clean
Keep it going part 2 please
Hope to see the new video soon 🙏
Part 2 please!
Dual Monarchy moment
City boys we up 🎉🎉🎉🎉 sponsorship on lock 🔐 💯 😎 🤣 💪 😤 🔐 💯
yessir yessir
Yes this is clearly guide for AK
For people that don't want to deal with the AE. It's fine to do 2 - 3 wars against France eating it a bit up and giving burgundy some provinces every time. I PU'd france on my 3rd war and AE was manageable. With high Improv % it's good to work with. Went Diplo into Admin (Coulda done Humanist to be fair). But the Gov cap will be needed later on.
For Italy it's good to vassalize some of the OPM's (Diplomatically) and Annex them / feed them land from claims.
For Iberia - if you are lucky enough - like I was and Spain doesn't like Aragon - you can take land there for a foothold. Getting a PU over castile is feasable but I just broke my MA with them to get the ball rolling.
Good stuff, mister! I do think we need a part 2, so as to punish the Ottomans for (reasons we'll fill in later; maybe something about Christendom?).
you shoulda done this with europa expanded, the angevin tree in that mod is much more interesting
Pls continue this run
I prefer to restart to get Burgundy friendly rather than to get the corwnlands debate, the debate is usefull, but I normally can revoke the Villeinage in 1449 after taking France through siezing a 2nd time, but getting Burgundy friendly is the game changer from having 3 wars with them and massive AE to having a smooth game.
Love Angevin Kingdom - just played a GB run instead and it wasn’t the same. But instead I abused trade protectorates and got economic hegemon by 1550 😂
Sponsor link sends me to stream elements!!
Should work now! thanks so much for letting me know
Part 2 pls
I highly suggest you to placate the local rulers of your subjects before getting overkill prestige
This war against burgundy imp is a little too rng in terms of allies, and it can be too crippling in the early game to dp all the ireland and roses stuff, and immediately go into that kind of war
And just after I said this, as soon as I released ireland they quit being my rivals for free
Continue the campaign
10:16 not really true- as long as the unrest is still above 0 they will pop in the highest dev province, and that is very good because if you stand on mountains, hills or woods you will be the defender instead of attacker, instead of the opposite if you go from a tile away
when is the next part of the dithmartian playthrough?
I have it recorded already so it might be the next vid!
in missions u have raise an army and i have levy the troops how do i set it. please respond im desparate i couldnt find any solutions
OK I had to laugh about the heir dying. I have gotten that with Henry Tudor every campaign. I never seem to keep the Tudors on the throne. I swear they have some modifier on him. It happens way more often than any other non-scripted monarch I have had for any nation.
where is the second part?
u have raise an army and i have levy the troops how do i set it
you need Domination dlc
@@GolemEnt thanks
Play colonial Ottomans next
would anyone prefer a game that combined all 4 games in one? ck3 eu4 vic & hoi4? id prefer one game that had all the best things from each game
basically i wish eu5 expanded the dates maybe from 1000 to 1920... ie including ww1 era tech.. mainly cos i used to like playing a game called
imperialism which ended with tanks & planes and i used to love reading about ww1.. but also, i think they need to add more stuff in eu5.. that
allows for more stuff to do whilst not at war.. ie ck3s intrigue stuff, like plots against other people... but also victorias economy stuff..
If only the french were not such snobs, this could have been a reality
Felt wrong to like the video when it were on 1337 likes before my like. :(
0:17 you know that "Subject Ireland" can colonize for You as well? :D You just need to establish it later, start with Surrender of Maine, PU France, than chill a little bit, than take Scotland, than chill a little bit, and than take out Ireland, they should have colonial ideas by then :). In the meantime deal with Burgundy, You still can get Burgundy while having France :)
i dont think i have patience for that to be honest xD would probably rather steal Norway from Denmark
Sir that is not a (good) English breakfast
Where's the black pudding??!!!
how did you get a sponsor on a 9k sub channel lmao tf
had one at 4k~ before, as a wise man once said "it's not the size that matters"
Just release subjects of dutch small countries let them join hre, why did you move capital lmao
