In 2023 when Blanka went to eurovision, during the national selection there was another artist, Jann. He gained 18665 votes from the public while Blanka only gained 6020. It was due to the jury she won over Jann.
Big 5 (UK, France, Spain, Italy and Germany) have automatic qualification to the final because they support EBU financially the most, but this support is for organizing Eurovision, not for sponsoring other countries, every country needs to give money to their national broadcaster that sends a song for Eurovision to finance their start in the contest every year, they can also have sponsors or support from some wealthy people if national government doesn't have money or doesn't want to support it Why would France give money to Moldova or Germany give money to Bulgaria, it's their own money that they are using to send their own song Even if some people get mad at juries for voting at completely different songs than public, they are essential to make this contest as fair as possible, because Eurovision already had years during which only public votes mattered and they were the worst and most unproffesional years of the contest, most of these songs sounded terrible I think the perfect way to make it even better is to give public vote a slightly bigger weight, for example 60-40, that could work, because some of the preselections for Eurovision have differently weighted votes and they work perfectly The only result when Poland was straight up robbed by jury was 2016, this song deserved at least top 10 from them and they put it at 25th in the final Also in 2019 we were snuffed from the final just because of some voting error from one of the juries, if everything happened as the jury wanted to vote, Poland would be in the final 2024 was not good at all, Blanka sucks
Oh yes, I know how bad mid 90s to mid 2000s were under 100% public vote. What I mean by supporting countries is more so investing in Eurovision rather then specific countries, so that every country have the budget to compete well (even San Marino, etc). As of 2016, yes, this was a highway robbery. This guy was Top 3.
I like when people reacting to the videos have some background knowledge about the topic, glad that you guys have it. Michał Szpak and Kasia Moś were totally scammed by the jury because they were the most talented singers in their's respective editions.
It's not really "discrimination", more like everyone is voting for their "friends". Eurovision is very political. If two countries have close alliance or doing buiseness together, they will vote for each other. If the other country is seen as being in the opposition- politically, economiacally, whatever- they won't. Also, people were mad that Blanka went to Eurovision, not because she couldn't sing-well, that too, her performance in the preselections was simply awful-but because it wasn't "Poland" that chose her. Polish people chose another contestant, Jann, but the politicized jury chose Blanka. It was seen as an authoritarian move by the previous government, which at that time was super conservative, and the jury was made up of people loyal to them. Jann was kind of androgynous, and that's the reason they didn't let him go-one of the jury members outright said that her conscience wouldn't allow her to vote for him. Later, it also turned out that Blanka was her son's girlfriend. So, bigotry and nepotism at its finest.
Blanka was chosen only because of her connotation with jury. Jann won almost twice as many viewers votes as she did but the jury had the deciding vote. His performance wasn't perfect, but definitely more ambitious than hers and he indeed is talented (see his others live performances). Fortunately, it helped him to speed up his career anyway.
Are you joking? She is so talented, but the song she wanted to go with was mediocre. I was do happy she resigned - hope she wilk come back with something better on 2026.
@@lucynab6780
We Poles love to complain, but we are indeed discriminated against at Eurovision and there are painful examples of this, such as Edyta Górniak, who should have won Eurovision. Discrimination is an understatement, it is racism.
Eurovision has ceased to be a music competition for many years. It has become a political and ideological event. Look who wins. An ideological figure: a woman with a beard, a person without gender (in Europe they believe that there are 40 genders). Or political songs win (e.g. about a bad climate). Music, talented performers have been completely pushed to the sidelines. Poland does not present songs that fit political and ideological trends. Its songs are typically musical. I believe that Poland should withdraw from Eurovision completely, because the event is used by politicians and lobbyists for propaganda purposes. The musical character of Eurovision has been eliminated and destroyed. It's a shame. The performers are talentless, the songs are bland, and truly talented people do not get to compete. Eurovision has been destroyed.
Eh. Michał Szpak is gay, very androgunous in most of his performances and the song is discreetely also about tolerance and accepting "colors" , instead of Black and white.
Dzień dobry!
@@MaxSujyPOL Hej😃
Hej kochani, uwielbiam was oglądać. Pozdrawiam was serdecznie, Polka z Holandii 😉❤️❤️❤️😘

2023-24 czyli Blanka i Luna to najsłabsze występy. Ubijanie masła i Cleo żenada.Najlepiej Kasia Moś,Michał Szpak i Ochman z tego zestawienia..
Dzięki ubijaniu masła przeszliśmy do finału
Eurowizja dla dorosłych jest konkursem politycznym
Eurovision is not a song contest anymore. This is a huge political event. Poland has very low points from jury cuz of Politics.
So tell me why Russia, Ukraine or Cyprus or Malta or Turkey or many others could achieve so good results?
If you like this 5:23, check Tulia - Nothing Else Matters 😊
Michał szpak byl w ,,mam talent,,
w "X Factor", a nie w "Mam talent". "Mam Talent" wygrał Kamil Bednarek
@Polans-gd przepraszam,ale gafa 🙈 rzeczywiście,tak w X-Factor dobrze mówisz
X Factor 🤦 zanim coś napiszesz to pomyśl.
