Adding a buldge to the rear of the aircraft does have some advantages too beyond just the additional PAX capacity:
Assuming they can infact balance the extra mass at the tail, it is favourable for airlines to operate aircraft with slightly aft CGs as it improves fuel economy (part of the reason you are shuffled to the back when seats aren't prescribed). However, another big problem is that the buldge will shield the vertical tail quite substantially and I imagine there would be some interesting dynamics at play especially during sidelip which I expect would result in an enlarged fin and perhaps the installation of a leading edge strake there too. My gut tells me that if that plane did exist I think being sat in the top of that buldge would probably be one of the safest seats going as well as providing a novel view.

I think boeing could do to stop tail strikes is put a retractable landing gear under the tail like the Concorde
I could be wrong here, but i think they scrapped the idea, in favour of lengthening the fuselage, which is why the 767-400ER exists.

aerodynamically its not a bad design at all. the hump if streamlined right can reduce transonic wave drag. Just slap some bigger engine on, redistribute fuel tanks and bam, perfectly fine airplane.
