    I've been wanting one of these for a long time. Your review was very helpful and pushed me over the edge and I got one. I've have had my Squale Master with the green face/bezel with the bronze case for about 2 weeks. It is even more beautiful in person. Thanks for your review

    An exceptional and truly beautiful timepiece. I really appreciate that every conceivable detail has been addressed with the same approach to high quality and haute horology. A collectors piece not only to be worn but also to be admired and treasured.

    Beautiful watch and great review. Your general walk-through, and commentary, and display of the watch was great. Its nice you bring to attention all the features. I view a lot of watch reviews and this was one of the best.

    Squale makes some of the most durable watches I have ever owned. I'm an electrician, and use my 1545 as a tool watch DAILY. You get a lot of features for a automatic watch that blue collar stiffs can afford without mortgaging your home.

    After seeing your video I looked up this watch and have to say that the this watch in blue looks absolutely stunning! In the pictures the dial has a sunburst effect when the light hits it and it looks like the dial has wings! Thanks for pointing it the Squale brand TGV, I really think my next watch is going to be the atmos 1521 in the black pvd and mesh bracelet!

    Now that is a watch! I'm not quite the squale fan you are but we are one the same page with watch. I cannot believe how reasonably priced it is too. Thank god it's 44mm though. Too big for my wrist. I love the bezel/raised dial lens and the work around it. Stunning.
    Great review.

      ron p Thank you Ron, glad you like it.
      I am secretly relieved too, if this was the same size as the 1521 I would buy it without a second thought and the last thing I need is another diver! lol
      I hope this finds an owner that will really make use of it, its a beast that needs to be put to work as well as a horological marvel.

    That watch is incredible. I'm very surprised at how nice to looks and a beast of a movement. Thats the same movement that was in my Bell & Ross BR03. This is something that Squale should really add to their permanent lineup.
    $2600 looks like a steal for that, I paid $4500 retail for the Bell & Ross and I think this may be somewhat nicer and the same movement only this one is decorated.
    My little brother (who is 34) has been questioning me up on his first purchase of a good watch. I was trying to talk him into an Omega but now I may point him in this direction.

    • @theurbangentry
      @theurbangentry  9 років тому

      Rob N Thanks for sharing that Rob.
      I never tried a Bell and Ross, would be interesting to compare them side by side.
      You should definitely get your brother into Squale, can't go wrong with them, then again Omega is amazing. I would love to shoot a Seamster 300 Vs Sqaule 1521, that would be an epic showdown right?!?!?

    Thanks so much for sharing the 600m, photos really don't do it justice. For me 44mm is too big (if it were only a 42!), but the details of the dial - power reserve! - and case are so well executed and the finishing on the movement so refined it's hard not to want one. Truly a beautiful watch. Looking forward to your next Squale review, I have a bet with myself re: the model. Thanks again!

    Church of Squale, hahaha! Great review once again and this is quite nice. The size is great and it has a cool looking dial, or should I say complication. I love the power reserve feature and I think the 2892-A2 is the base for the Seamaster I have. Keep up the good work TGV!

    Tristano. Great review and what a watch!!!!!!
    There's a bit of retro and modern captured in a simple but highly crafted case.
    Even the power reserve does not crowd the dial, that's probably helped by the generous case size!
    Nice touch with the screws on the lugs, although prone to picking up those pesky micro scratches when changing straps!
    Pity about the size !! I'd bet that it might have easily ended in your collection.

    I am just getting into the Squale brand and find them all stunning. Then I saw your video here and the watch has captivated me. I have a 7 3/4" wrist and believe I could pull it off. One tech question I have on the Bi-directional bezel. Does it meet all the regs and certifications of a dive watch because of the "push and turn" function?

    Good little review. I definitely prefer your other Squale though, that blue!! Also, the crown positioning on your other Squale is something I've grown to like it as it's tucked away nicely unlike other watches I've owned with bulky crowns at the 5 o'clock position like the black monster seiko.

    780 Euros for the 50atm 1521, 2300 euros for this, clearly a big step up in quality and price. This watch must feel so solid and well-crafted!

    • @theurbangentry
      @theurbangentry  9 років тому

      PierFra Cappai Yes, it certainly is a big step, but its totally representational in price. The Master is indeed a Masterpiece! To think there is such a limited batch is always very appealing too. Cant say that with my subby or speedy ;-) right?

    I still see this watch on sale. At $1,800, the 300 made are NOT moving well at all. I like this watch. I like the bezel and the power reserve indicator. I also appreciate the improved ETA movement. Wish the crown was at the 4 o'clock and it's a shame that it doesn't use the Squale "orange" minute hand... just doesn't seem Squale without it.

    Before watching this, I thought you had bought it. What a great watch (and review) - my favorite Squale by far. I could really see getting this at some point, although I'd probably want to wait for a used one or a sale. While the size works for me, too bad for you, T! What about the 1000m at 43x14mm? It isn't as nice but still very cool and half the price.

    • @theurbangentry
      @theurbangentry  9 років тому

      Jonny Casual I thought you would like it! I could see you really enjoying this piece. The 1000m I must admit does not really grab me to be honest. I am gonna go for the black pvd 1521 next.
      I am also looking at another Oris possibly, maybe even an Omega. I need a good GMT, any ideas?
      Best regards,
      TGV

    • @jonnycasual2975
      @jonnycasual2975 9 років тому +1

      The Urban Gentry
      The GMT Bond is really nice, also the Seamaster "Great White" is another interesting option that really stands out - I'm not a fan of white dials, but it is quite striking. The Planet Ocean is expensive and maybe a bit big for you, but I could see an Aqua Terra on your wrist. Another thought is a Longines Conquest. For something more affordable there are some decent Hamilton GMTs like the Jazzmaster Traveler or one of the Khaki GMTs.

  • @juliuslahtinen5608
    @juliuslahtinen5608 9 років тому +1

    I like it! But do you think the price is justified? Because at that price point you could get a Tudor or an Omega for example. Is the fit and finish on the same level?

    • @theurbangentry
      @theurbangentry  9 років тому

      julius lahtinen Great question. Considering its special and decorated movement, the best bezel I have ever seen, the limited quantity and rarity of the piece, the heritage of the brand, and overall flawless quality, I would have to say the price is completely justified. The only thing stopping me from buying it is the size, but truly a special watch none the less.

    Good evening Tristano - (TGV)Many thanks for another superb video. I'm looking for another watch to add to my small collection and considering the Squale Master or the Sinn Space 140 LE, both great watches in my opinion and both limited editions. I currently have Panerai (PAM088), Breitling (Superocean Heritage II), Oris blue Eagle LE, and CW C9 5Day Chronometer (SH21 movement) and my collection is missing a chronograph since selling my Navitimer 01, which is why I am considering the Sinn however since seeing the Squale at Page & Cooper and your review it has left me in a quandary. I would be very interested in your thoughts and which one you opt for and why?Kind regardsLloyd

      Hey Flossy. I use a free app called "songzilla", I actually did a video review of the app waaaay back at the start of the channel. Its great as you just select the mood or genre and off it goes. This particular score was the "big band swing" playlist, all 1930s/1940s music. I use the iPhone and place it away from the camera so the video just picks it up but not enough to trigger the youtube copyright infringement thingy. Not very high tech but hey it works ;-)
      Hope that helps,
      Best regards as always,
      TGV

      +Joe Macch Thank you, well this is a lot more money then the combat sub, but many more times the quality and features, it depends on if toy think it is worth it, either way, solid choices you can't lose! :D

      Nice! so, bakelite under sapphire crystal? I have quite a few bakerlite deco antiques so that really is cool!

    Man I'm in love but unfortunately I only have a 7" wrist and this watch would be too big for me. TGV I've never herd you say what size wrist you have?
    Just my luck I find an awesome watch that is in stock and doesn't cost as much as a car and I can't buy it because it's too big for me.

      If this watch was 40mm and 12-14mm thick it would be on its
      way to me and my bank account would be dinged 2.5k

      Richard Stevens Would be interesting to do a duel, what Doxa would be fitting to go up against this beast I wonder?

      The Urban Gentry probably the 1500T they have a midsize one though, not sure if it is unix and was unable to ascertain from their website whether it was Unisex. I like Idea of Squale more as it feels more like niche brand. Doxa was made famous by the hero of the Cussler novels

      I just remember that Squale made cases for Doxa, I think around the same time they were making cases for Blanc Pain. I will check out the 1500T now, cheers!
