    What Charlie just spoke about in this video is one of if not the most important changes you can make for yourself in todays modern age if you want to succeed (with the presumption that you either have goals or a project to work towards).
    Because the amount of leverage you extract from feeling satisfied simply by doing what you should be doing (i.e. work) is incredibly rewarding in the long run and the head start you get as a result of this compared to your competition is vastly underrated..

Your video on trauma and the plateaus we cannot surpass because of our traumas was just incredible. I am working on the integration of my inner child and i can already feel how my internal subconcsious programming starts to change. I always focused on finding new information on productivity instead of focusing on the root problem. For example, i used to not liking reading, but then after doing it for months, it progressively got better and better, and better.

    I've done extensive research on dopamine circuitry and the reward pathways. What you are doing seems to be working for you, but there is a key thing you're missing here which is that unless your neurons are literally fried from let's say cocaine addiction or a very strong stimulant of that sort, you can always go to baseline. And that usually happens are the 6-8 weeks mark.
    You might say: "Then why am I still feeling cravings today...8 weeks later".
    It's because of some cue that is associated to the habit you are avoiding (pavlovian conditioning)
    I completely disagree with the idea of replacing the stimulus to keep the brain from going haywire, for 2 reasons.
    1: Nothing you will do will ever replace the same levels of dopamine you get from any of the habits you mentioned
    2: Your brain will default to baseline after some time. 2 weeks for some people, and 90 days for others, but it eventually will.
    TLDR; the only way out is through. You will feel withdrawal effects no matter what you do. The good news is it's ephemeral and will teach you the lesson of thinking twice before indulging in such activities.

    I think there are more things necessary to be successful than what you presented. More obstacles to remove. I have none of the addictions you mentioned, not anymore. Yet still, I am not successful. I believe I am not 100 times more lazy or stupid than you are, yet I earn 1/100 of what you earn. I've been running my small software development agency for nearly 15 years, struggling to survive, getting new clients… Recently, I learned that probably the most immense obstacle is the programs installed in the subconscious mind by the parents, their parents... You mentioned that you have a wonderful dad. I wonder where you would be today if you had an alcoholic father who was fired from many jobs, ruined his business, was beating his wife, etc.

    One of the greatest piece of a advise I got, was about so called "lazyness"(cause it doesen't exist in neuroscience world lol). Let's say, ur really too lazy to do something. So, u really get rid of any stimulation and just lay down on the bed\floor. If u are tired to do something, ull eventually fall asleep. If not, ull just get too bored, ull stand up and ull do something. Because our brains are like that, indeed. Even small portion of dopamine is better than nothing. Nothing new for me, but still a great video. Hope it reaches whoever it needs to!

  • @iansamir18
    @iansamir18 5 місяців тому +1

    Excellent video, but "I know this works because it worked for me" is why this is not a solved problem - everyone's brain is wired differently and this likely won't work for most addicts watching. Everyone needs to basically figure out what works for them, and most people won't do that work.
    What is the solution? I believe AI could create personalized versions of these methods for every person & help them (imagine having a human coach that tailors this video to you). Should be about 2-4 years before that tech is ready in my experience working in AI right now.
