Another great video. I love how informative your channel is. It would be easy for you to just release jams that we all wish we could do, but you choose to also share the knowledge. So massive respect and big thanks!
Ricky just wanted to say that your compact creation videos (even those not named such) are incredibly inspiring. Even to those of us with large Eurorack systems that are drowning in modules and options, it is nice to see a minimal set of modules to bring a bit of focus. Thanks.
Pleases more minimal modular videos. Just you breaking it down to elementary level and talking about the individual modules and there application has helped me so much along my journey. Thank you Thank you Thank you
Took my first step into Eurorack thanks to your videos and went for this palette case set up and I’ve lost whole days jamming on it with the LIP. For anyone looking at this, you do need external drums (DFAM works well and you can steal it’s two oscillators ) unless you just want baselines, but this thing totally rocks in a small system. Great video as always!
LIP is probably one of my favorite things Noise Engineering has done. I've been playing around with feeding its output into Rings, which I strongly recommend everyone try
nice demonstration here.. my little rig is model:Samples & behringer crave, just ordered cycles too. I think it is nice to have one analog source to go along with the cold and wonderfully precise digital machines,, please post a full set sometime
Always learn a lot about Modular Synthesis from your videos. I've just started really patching together modules and actually creating sounds from the few I've bought so far and it's frustrating at first { self taught /still learning Modular } . No classes offered where I live and closest store that sells anything modular is 2 1/2 hours away and I don't drive. So I read and watch MANY videos on Eurorack , Modular demos etc...So thank you for helping me with understanding it a bit more thru your videos. Ciao ~ 🎹🐾💡🔥🐒
Hola Ricky!! First i wanna say that i love your vibe and the energy you give to us! An awesome human being with a lot of passion and willing to share that with us :) thanks! Second: Pls make a video of this minimal modular Synths! Like what to search for, wich modules we may be interested, ideas to make a case or to buy it etc! Keep the good work my friend! Share the knowledge Share the love!
FWIW I first got the LIP and it was just such a gnarly thing and really hard for me to get anything useable out of it, so I understand that guy thinking you were brave for bringing it. Granted, I'm still new to Modular so I think i may have bit off more than I could chew with such an advanced piece of kit. Then I got an MCO and got bored of it real quick and just got a regular Loquelic Iteritas and find it a lot easier to get workable sounds out of it. I'm using it with an Acidbox 3 as an LPG and I find it a lot more useable and easier to work with while still being able to get the insanity out of it that I like since I'm limited to how many envelope CVs I can use. However, now that I got some hours under my belt I may want to give the LIP or even a CIP a try again.
I own a few Noise Engineering modules. I like them. I wonder if they'll ever do any voices where there's a rotary or "take-over" style encoders and voices that allow the storage of settings? They are digital modules so it's possible. There are some really fine lines between a garbage sound and one that really smokes. Sometimes finding that exact setting combination again is nearly impossible. It would be great to discover something very nice and at least revisit your settings. Maybe NE could create a second line of their voice modules that do things like that? A two digit LED that goes from 00 to 99 with four buttons: up, down, load, and save would work with a SD card slot to back-up settings or possibly trade settings between users or virtualizations in software.
Don't get me wrong, Matt, with your passive aggressive comment. I like Ricky's videos. A lot. But we can cool it with the intros and all the other things (like and subscribe, and don't forget to hit the bell) that UA-camrs do. Just creating the conversation so people like Ricky are aware. If he doesn't care, no biggie. I'm not seeing how your comment adds any value though.
@@_0O0O0O0_ Some of that stuff they absolutely HAVE to do. UA-cam's algorithm is firmly on the Wack side of the Space. You gotta mention like, subscribe, and bell to make sure viewers old and new will keep getting your videos when you release a new one. Unless you are an established mainstay like Jenna Marbles. She could make chipmunk noises for 15 minutes a week and people would still watch her. Myself included. :)
That's a bit reductionist I think, the beat has cool textures and while the rhythm itself is a bit traditional/'generic', show me a room shaking techno or house song that isn't... dance rhythms fuel the flexability to do additional creative things on top
You should have another channel to upload full jams man
the "man" totally made me read this in bart's voice
hmmmmm *scratches chin*

I have no idea what's happening but really enjoy your videos. Great jam
I just saw Derrick may play in Brooklyn this past weekend..alot of these sounds would fit right into that set..great stuff man
I saw “mum m8” and remembered Mumdance’s radio show on Rinse where he announced this module . Good memories and lots of good releases.

Holy crap, man. That's a fantastic module, especially in your hands!
Love these hands-on videos! You got me to purchase a Lapsus Os with the last one: big thanks, it’s my favourite module for playability!
Damn that last jam was 🤌🏼
nice demonstration here.. my little rig is model:Samples & behringer crave, just ordered cycles too. I think it is nice to have one analog source to go along with the cold and wonderfully precise digital machines,, please post a full set sometime
Nice jam again!!! And great photo & website!
Damn, this kick is so insane!

I love the LIP. Vicious oscillator, been the main one in my system for a long time. Pairs well with the Michigan Synth Works 16n faderbank and a LPF.
It is really interesting seeing your growth as a modular artist over time. Keep up the wonderful work, please
Do you own keyboards at all? Trying to decide if I need/want a keyboard in my set up...
Great! Is the a list of the modules or a modular grid page? thanks

Squelchmongus, mate. You said the Elektron was providing clock - can you also use it's sequencer to play modular gear?
question: how did you sync the model: cycles with your eurorack system?
looks like the intellijel module that comes with the case is slaved to the the model cycles

I saw you at the Portland synth expo today at Holocene...wanted to say hi, but I didn't want to interrupt your convo... cool to see you up here....
Love the current setup. Do you know if they're making any more of the Ochds? Those things look nuts.
I’m sure, they only came out a few months ago. However, I’m sure their production is not on a normal schedule. Highly recommend it by the way!
will you ever go to Chicago?
love that industrial techno vibe
these videos are so fun to watch
Silly question , but how is the MC sending clock into the modular? curious....
RAFH midi cable is plugged in the bottom left corner of the modular system
this is so fucking dope, would love to see it live
Ohhhhh yessss,,,,I want one now.......Thanks for the Demo....
Where can I listen to a live set from you 😍😍😍
how did u sync the cycles to the case?
Thanks for that. But please let me ask how flexible this minimal eurorack system is for a live act?
Ricky how did you sync your cycles clock to your eurorack system?
i see on the intellijel case midi in nevermind haha
that jam in the end was so dope. Do you have any recording of one of your live sets? unfortunately i won't be anywhere near LA anytime soon.
Brah you put a n a clinic! This dope! Perfect performance set up. You selling this stuff???
Pure 🔥 as always!
14:53 love that sound
We want more !
How much would your mini modular setup cost, roughly?
Man, dope dude!!! Mad inspired right now

The whole jam was great but by 14:25 I was like i.imgur.com/V5KZTNn.jpg in a good way

No diss to you Ricky, but this is a fart fest 😅
...and at the very end of a very long and painful "jamming" one can discover a quite banal house beat
