That's my Era, and we in the City of Detroit had love for her, and we ALWAYS did. We knew she wasn't a "Gangsta", but she (like many Rappers) had the right people around her, to keep her good, when she was out and about. A Detroit Legend, and deservedly so. Her Flow was tight and she represented the City right. Rest easy BOSS, we know that you deserve more credit than you actually get.
R.i.P. Bo$$, her only album went hard back in the day. Unfortunately, she got exposed for a fake past that hurt her Chances to be one of the great female artists like a Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Queen Lafaith, Movie Love, and MC Lyfe!
I saw BO$$ in concert back in September of '93 at The Rochester War Memorial. She opened the show, followed by Run DMC, and then Onyx, and finally Snoop, Dre & The Whole Death Row Posse. It was the first rap concert I had ever gone to, which made it all the more special. She will be missed. 😢

Back then, the fans and industry were not forgiving. Back then, you had to be what you rapped about, if they caught you lying then your career was thru. Nowadays, you could be 6nine or Rick Ross or have ghostwriters (Drake) and people are forgiving and don’t care.

Boss a great lyricist, perfect delivery and voice 💯🔥
I remember seeing her on the chronic tour with dre and the dog pound. Run dmc, onyx, and they brought out bow wow lol
This hurt me. BO$$ was dope. Anybody who listened closely to her album knew that she was playing a good girl gone bad. I loved her music. R.I.P BO$$❤
I swear I can't believe you brought her up. I remember. Rest in peace
R.I.P 👑 Boss ❤️💖💜🌷🌹💐 Original Ladie Gangster , the “D” own….. Gone but won’t ever be forgotten… “Don’t Ring The Alarm” and “Deeper” was my 2 favorites…..
Never heard of her but thanks for putting me on
That's my Era, and we in the City of Detroit had love for her, and we ALWAYS did.
I think her 15 minutes ran out and she didn't find a way to extend it
Rip boss Detroit legend
That's Pat & I Interviewing Boss in 1993 at the Palladium in Manhattan. Video Explosion. Rest well Boss!
I just subscribed to ya channel lol
Thank you!@@OfficialTissue24
I saw BO$$ in concert back in September of '93 at The Rochester War Memorial. She opened the show, followed by Run DMC, and then Onyx, and finally Snoop, Dre & The Whole Death Row Posse. It was the first rap concert I had ever gone to, which made it all the more special. She will be missed. 😢
Boss was a dope artist. She got exposed and her authenticity was in question. That was big back then. I had the cassette tape and have her album in my phone right now.
Please kindly direct me to how / where I can get her music.
i have 2 Born Gangstaz cd's
@@startingnew2024 nice... I never heard of her till she passed... A few songs I came across on UA-cam where 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@novakayne2709 Amazon. I mean, unless you was of age in 1991,you wouldn't probably heard of her.
Na .. I wasn't. After listening to a few of her songs, I'm saddened by her passing.. I wish I knew of her before now
Thank u for sharing her story rest in peace beautiful Boss👑🙏🏽♥️🕊
She was NOT the first female MC signed to Def Jam!!!!!!!! Why do ppl keep saying that??? It was Nikki D in 1989..SHE was the first female MC signed to Def Jam... RIP Boss
*Eastside Low Bottoms sh*t !*
_Tappin' in from South Central LA_
Salute and RIP to Bo$$. Wasn't aware that she'd released an entire album so I'll have to look into that. I still bump "Deeper" in my lowrider to this day tho.
Fk a lowrider .. I was bumping “deeper” today in my ghetto Chevy Astro van on the west side on Detroit. What up doe! .. RIP Boss
Thank you Bo$$, baby that shit was fire!!!!
She wasn't exposed, she even had an intro to her album that had her mother chastizing her on her voicemail, the industry is funny, that's some fuck shit that she didnt blow up
Rest in peace, Bo$$.
I’m sorry Stunted, love your content but I have to make a correction. Nikki D was the first female signed to Def Jam in 1990. Dope video tho!
You should do Nonchalant next.
Tru dat
She was my favorite female rapper, and she passed away on my birthday. prayers to her family.
One of my favorite music channels💯🤘🏽🔥
Also, I remember Def Jam signing and having veteran artists try to do a gangster image to sell more records: Bo$$, ONYX, and LL’s 14 Shots to the Dome album.
Well that flopped majority 😂😂😂
Then can you imagine. Having to hide the fact you had good up bringing as child. Let that sink in she had to hide the fact she had people who lived and cared for her to fit in wow
Had been asking for a video on Bo$$ for a year now, so I got super excited when I saw this! R.I. P Bo$$!
Nikki D was the first female def jam rapper
*Wow... I didn't hear a peep about her being sick let alone her demise. RIP*
Nikki D was Def Jam records 1st female mc on the label.
313 Detroit VS Everybody 💯💪🏾🔥 Boss was hard A.F. & Esham was killn shyt to if you really know sumpn 😅
Boss, easily imo, was the nastiest female rapper everrr. 👍Technically, her cadence was BEYOND comprehension. By any chance, does anyone have or listened to her 2006 "6 million dollar mixtape" ??
Back then, the fans and industry were not forgiving. Back then, you had to be what you rapped about, if they caught you lying then your career was thru.
Nowadays, you could be 6nine or Rick Ross or have ghostwriters (Drake) and people are forgiving and don’t care.
Bo$$ was a dope artist, I remember having a promotional cassette of her in the 90s
🕯
Just completely glossed over the fact that this woman nurtured a VERY successful career in radio in D-Town and beyond... How do I know that? I'm from Dallas, and I grew up listening to her on one of the most popular Hip-hop and R&B stations in the metroplex. This made it sound like this woman descended into oblivion never to be seen again! 🤦🏾♀️
She discovered another avenue of success where music was at the forefront and presided over the jams that were the soundtrack to my youth! 🤨 Tha hell?!?
Rest well to a legend. 🕊🕯💕 BOSS then. BOSS now. BOSS forever. 💯
C’mon man…she WAS NOT the FIRST FEMALE signed to Def Jam…she wasn’t even the first FEMALE RAPPER signed to Def Jam…that would be ALYSON WILLIAMS (“The First Lady of Def Jam”) and then NIKKI DEE…ya gotta come correct if you’re going to put out info. SMH
Spice 1 and BO$$ got in on his album thank u for doing this here. We great times in the 90s
The heist 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The album was fire though 🔥. I kept it in HEAVY rotation.
