One of the very few DJ's that hasn't sold his soul just to get on the main stage at Tomorrowland. Still playing what he loves to the people that love him, big respect. Nearly all the tracks were his own, he didn't have to shout a bunch of nonsense down the microphone or throw cake at people, proper talent.

well he sold his soul when he went down the shitty edm route.. Thankfully in the last 3-5 years hes gone back to trance. I think aly and fila are better these days for pure trance than pvd.. Still he'll always be one of my fav djs. I once saw him both on a friday and a saturday for my birthday and got to meet him backstage. :)

Yeah, kudos to PVD for not doing that like some other big name DJs. But still roughly half of this set has no beat going, just endless buildups. That is the Ibiza sound, though.

52 year old dad here in 2020 training my 14 year old daughter on all the tunes she needs to hear, only then will she be able to fully understand, what she will be experiencing, when she finally gets dropped into Tomorrow land and i leave her in the hands of the Masters of the craft called trance, i feel she should know how it all got going, lol. and its not just her generation that makes the best music, as she would have me believe.she will never understand what i would have given to have a cataloger of free music and HD video streamed to me at any moment in time, day and night, i think every tune ever made in some form, is in u tube, its the stuff dreams are made of,when i heard her say im bored, i have listen to all the music on you tube, ive had to step in and guide her towards the cream of the cream of music and lights that is tomorrow land, its a dads duty i think lol

I found Paul van Dyk, the DJ in this video just in case if you didn’t know, by clicking on one of his videos UA-cam recommended me. That’s was my introduction to trance music. I am happy that I clicked that video. And if you think about it, trance kinda defines humans: a lot of happy and positive energy. And you dont want to lose that energy once you have it.

It sounds cheap and nasty. It can't be compared to PVD. He produces epic, beautiful music with heart and soul. You have no idea how hard it is to produce trance at this level!
