I've been listening to PVD for 2 decades. I can say that since the issue of "From then on" and launch of Shine-ibiza, his music has again became much more "trancy", as it was in the early 00s, and I definitely love that. Thank you Paul. Thanks to Transmission festival for keeping the format of the event and inviting such DJs.
PvD, what an absolute legend. This set is what he used to be all about in the 90's and early 2000's. Had one of the best nights when he played The Cross in London NYE 1998 and dropped his remix of Flaming June whilst I was coming up. One of the most incredible experiences of my life at that time. He had the whole place in awe. Make the most of him whilst you can. Pretenders like Tiesto only wish they were PvD!!
When he was in South Africa he absolutely killed it. First time he dropped crush was insane. Definitely the master of keeping large crowds engaged. King of the build up.
One of the sold out the Emporium and had a decent set. The other played for 6 incredible hours at the last ever gatecrasher night at GC One, showed range from house to trance to hard house/trance.

The thing that makes a PVD set like this so special, is the ability to give a sense of nostalgia, but still sound fresh. Tiesto might take all the accolades, but he's got nothing on the Master: Paul Van Dyk.
Tiesto, especially his early stuff was blissful Trance music. He followed the industry of just pumping out too much at once and going with the flow and moving away from trance. Whereas, PVD has always been Trance. He has this ability to keep his Trance energy throughout the decades which keeps us Trance lovers happy. pvf I'd the very definition of Trance music. Oh my GOD....tears are running down....this is not true...how did this happen in Prague during all this pandemic and I was not aware of this? Paul is a true master...ever been, but the magic he does here is literally out of this world: he touches classics, enhances them to 25+ years but he keeps this brilliant clear and simple sound of the 90s....THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!!! Im glad i still got one friend left who is still into this. Im turning 40 now and once a year we go somewhere new. This year it was Transmission. Next year prolly some anjunadeep event. Transmission is miles better than A state of trance festival (utrecht) for example. Less djs but higher quality of ... everything. If you get the vip ticket (not goldfingers) you could go alone and feel at home. Was actually the best viparrangement we ever had on an event for the price. Highly recommended.

I was at this concert. 2001-2003, I got into PVD...For An Angel and all that. 36 years old, I finally went to see him. I video recorded 30:31 best part of the set. If anyone can ID it that would be awesome - love from 🇺🇲

Im glad i still got one friend left who is still into this. Im turning 40 now and once a year we go somewhere new. This year it was Transmission. Next year prolly some anjunadeep event. Transmission is miles better than A state of trance festival (utrecht) for example. Less djs but higher quality of ... everything. If you get the vip ticket (not goldfingers) you could go alone and feel at home. Was actually the best viparrangement we ever had on an event for the price. Highly recommended.
