- Terrifying footage captured a plane wobbling from side to side as it struggled with strong winds before aborting its landing while making its final approach at Fukuoka Airport.
Tropical storm Shanshan made landfall Thursday morning as a powerful typhoon, lashing southern Japan with torrential rain and strong winds.

That turbulence is wild, but how aggressive that climb was after the abort was pretty insane too. Bet all the passengers were absolutely shitting their pants.
If you have the extra thrust to climb like that, may as well do it in such conditions.
I was too and I was just watching the video 😖😖 the way my brain said OMG PLS DONT STALL PLEASE DONT STALL
@@daisyp1670 climbed way too effortlessly to be anywhere close to stalling. It had plenty of airspeed and apparently more than enough thrust to maintain or even gain airspeed during that climb.
I was just in an airbus simulator yesterday and I can confirm the angle at which those things are able to climb if necessary is insane.
@@maximilian672 yes I know, intellectually. I don’t know about effortlessly, but it was just such an aggressively steep climb, I was imagining the wind shifting and knocking it around again and causing it to pitch up too hard too fast.
Thank God for the wisdom given to that pilot.God bless him.
Amen 🙌
Yeah, great job flying!
Lmao God didn't do anything stop relying on a fake being

You comment worth a million likes. So true. Thank God for real.❤
Yes, absolutely but I'm sure he / she had some guidance from the air traffic controllers.
The Captain made the right decision. 👍
My Heavenly Father protect all the people who rides on planes. And keep them all safe from tragic accidents in Jesus name I pray amen 🙏🏼
Amen! And l fly all the time. Thank you. 🥰🌹🙏🏾
Jesus isn’t real and doesn’t care
Jesus pbuh believed in God
We should too
I got motion sickness watching the teeter tottering and steep climb 😮
Same 😂😂😂😂 something is wrong with me
I kept thinking that airliner would not have the thrust to not stall. Hard to figure why the pilot felt the need to pull the plane up into such an extreme attitude.
@@Mightifliertldr: I do not believe that there was a risk of a stall. A short temporary stall on some surfaces due to gusts / variable winds? Maybe. But they quite certainly weren't at their stall speed.
Long version: Because they (the pilots) - unlike us - would have known exactly how their aircraft would perform. They know how much thrust their engines produce, they know how much they weigh. They'll have a safety margin added to their stall speed according to the gusts expected. From there it's simply math.
They would have thus had a precalculated and briefed angle and the pilot-flying would have simply adhered to that.
Plus airliners like that do not stall the entire wing at once and you have sensors that detect an impending stall quite a bit before any part of the wing would experience it. Stick shaker would activate and they'd take the nose down.
(Plus, just look at its observable performance. It climbed like a beast and no indication of slowing down)
@@maximilian672 I agree, but we all have seen videos of tragic crashes of heavy planes. But I would agree they would know the machine’s capability, unless they hit wind sheer,
You know everybody was scared until they touched ground!
Landing in the British Isles is often like this. Pilots are truly amazing and skilled.
What British Isles. Its always calm weather around Britain.
@@saraswatkin9226😂
Just watching that plane gave me a pit in my stomach!! The swaying from side to side and then suddenly it started to rise up would’ve had me praying! I can’t even imagine how the passengers were feeling during that!! Great job to the pilot though 🙏
EVERYONE in that cabin was screeming. EVERYONE.
Oh my god, look at that plane rocking from side to side, that's frightening
I landed in a typhoon once while circling around waiting for another plane to land, they took 3 attempts. So in in the meantime I was watching the wing, it's amazing all the parts moving in and out as well as reverse thrust employed, the wing bend up and down, unbelievable machines .
A pilot who cares about his passengers safety and his crew’s as well bravo to the captain for aborting the landing
he cares more bout his life like everyone in this world .... you are not him to talk how he act or why you do not know ??
A reminder that we still live at the mercy of mother nature
We live by the mercy of Jehovah God!
Yes yes YES.....! A like-minded person...! ❤😂❤
yeah and more so when in a man made object flying thousands feet in air
That plane aborting the landing because of the typhoon is intense! Glad they played it safe.
Seems like something a bot would say!

@@jrock2460 oh so they are bots, I these comments everywhere even in non viral videos it kills me
@@meyague anytime you see a comment like this with a picture of a woman’s body or body parts in the avatar, it’s a BOT. This is a UA-cam issue that’s been going on for a LONG time now and seems to only be getting worse.
Actually happens more than people might think. I used to be a ground worker and if the planes are lightly booked the lack of weight makes it difficult for pilots to land in strong winds.
Generally what happens is the plane will circle back make 1 or 2 more attempts and if they still can’t land they’ll divert to another airport
I appreciate your insight on this. I'm terrified of flying so I never do it, so idk things like this lol
@@user-mt5lj8ot3h most things aviation look a lot more scary than they actually are. From a pilots perspective the approach in the video for example was perfectly safe. The pilots made the go-around decision at a safe altitude, increased thrust from reduced/idle to full/toga-thrust and climbed away easily. They might either try again or divert to a prepared alternate airport.
If you do not know that, it might look like they barely got away with it (judging by some of the comments here), and that might lead to being more afraid than necessary. (Not trying to argue against your fear here, fears are usually irrational, just adding some thoughts)
@@maximilian672that's a great explanation and it helps us that have a fear of flying. Thank you!
Same with a Shart........too much wind behind the movement!
Wow, that's really interesting!
I lived between two airports, neither huge but both busy. The craziest thing I saw was a plane circle around and come back to try again to land when it was super foggy. They were so low I could actually see the people inside looking out the windows. One was my best friend at the time coming home from Chicago for a visit. We could actually see eachother lol. I have seen other planes waffling from the wind but that low plane was something else!
Lol
Sometimes landing in fog is like that. I've landed in fog and you couldn't see anything the last few minutes until a second or so from the ground.
Wow.scary..wise decision 🎉❤😊
Kudos to the pilot and crew!!
I totally understand them, sometimes I abort parking if the pavement is uneven, so they're not obliged to explain themselves to me.
Everything cool 👍🏻
😂
👀
All I thought about while watching this was the recent plane crash in Brazil. This could've gone down the same way, glad it didn't, and RIP to those who perished in that Brazilian plane crash.
The typhoon is crazy but even crazier is that climb 😮😮
Thanks to the pilot and crew
Pilot: "ladies and gentlemen we are now landing in Fuk- Nevermind were now leaving Fukuoka hope you enjoyed your stay"
I was flying from Ireland to Singapore. The flight to Paris had to abort it's landing. Not sure what happened but on the second attempt we were told to adopt the brace position and that we would be coming down hard and fast. As we came down the runway several fire engines escorted us. When we stopped we were told we were in a far off part of the airport and would need to stay there for a while. A lot of people were panicking. I was connecting onto a 12 hour flight.
If you remember flight and date, one could probably look up the incident
@@maximilian672 I can check what date it was and then look up the flight number. Thanks. It would be interesting to know what happened. It was dark when we came into land and was like something out of movie with the lights from the fire engines. I had a window seat and realised that we were gaining altitude and had aborted the landing. I wasn't expecting what happened next. Lol. Luckily I had time for a glass of wine before the flight to Singapore. Lol
❤thank you to the pilots for making a safe call for themselves and passengers ❤
That must be one scary ride.
People who fly are brave🥶✌️
People who cross the road are brave too.
As a child I was scared. The engines powering up terrified me. Now I love flying, even long-haul. I find it therapeutic because I know that there's nothing I can do about any problems that might arise.
Mostly due to not really knowing what's going on most of the times.
@@LisaFerguson-lw8il I would think that's the scary part. That you don't have any control.
I am terrified but it is a means to an end
Man i just left japan 4 days ago out off osaka Airport just narrowly escaping the typhoon. We could see the dark clouds slowly engulfing the skys. Taking off the turbulence was severe. We must admit what an amazing machine an aircraft really is. How powerful those turbines are and how advance their electronics really are. I would never fly in a propeller plane tho lol.
The throwup bags were full that day!
I wonder if the oxygen masks deployed from this turbulence.
Never seen a ✈️ get tossed around in the

Watch the video of the recent plane crash in Brazil. Pure horror. RIP to all 64 who perished 😢
Typhoon winds is 39-73 mph if its a tropical storm category. It looked like a cross wind too so anything is going to get tossed.
Gettin tossed like a salad, I half expected a side of ranch dressing to come with that wild ride😬
thats terrifying
That’s a roller coaster I don’t wanna ride.
Seem to climb very steeply, must have been very close to stalling
I saw that.
I've watched so many plane crash videos I almost screamed "PUSH THE FU*KING NOSE DOWN"
This is what I was thinking. 😳
I was thinking the same, also put the wheels back up
I think they pressed the TOGA button (take off / go around).
Pilot: "Buckle up! It's about to be a hell of a ride!"
Pilot: "we're all going to die!!! ..... Just kidding, folks. Enjoy the flight"
Code brown folks
I can only imagine the anxiety of everyone aboard. Skillful n wise captain! 👏
scary and bold of that captain 🧑✈️
Thank you for sharing. And I hope this aircraft was safe in going around or to another airport.😊
Wow, how nature can push a 2000 ton multi million plane…
It’s a toy for nature’s wind.
2,000 gross tons is well over 4 million pounds. You think an airplane, that flies through the air, weighs 4 million pounds. Seek help.
@@bryanergau6682 no need to use personal attacks on the fellow. They simply don't know. And they're not that far off, either. The largest commercial planes have a maximum takeoff weight of over 500 metric tons.
@@maximilian672 The heaviest takeoff weight for the largest commercial or military aircraft made in this country is 875,000 pounds.
@@bryanergau6682 I don't know what country you're hailing from, so maybe that is true, maybe not. The fact is an A380 does have a maximum takeoff weight of 575 metric tons or 1.2 million pounds. There may be heavier ones, if so, I am not aware of them.
Man with a climb like that the pilot was really wanting to get out of those winds as fast as possible.
Wow!!!!! I would be praying every prayer I knew. Bless the very wise pilot and his crew for keeping their passengers safe so they can see their loved ones again!!! ❤
AMEN. God save Everyone who are traveling in this flight.
Sweet Jesus 🙏 please continue to grant traveling mercies to all while flying and give the pilot the skills and wisdom that's needed to operate these planes safely.
The pilot is a great person 💪🏾💪🏾🙏🙏❤❤.
That's a 70° climbing up that sky 😮
That video was taken at an Air Show in Japan .... the pilots were showing the planes capabilities to customers.
Moral: Pilot is a Super Hero ❤
He made the right decision. But was that climb angle necessary though? As pilots, we can't forget that most of the people we carry no little about what an aircraft can and cannot do..
This happened pretty much exactly like this to me landing in Brisbane years ago in strong winds and they had to take off again. It was crazy.
About three winters ago in December we ramp agents were waiting for a cargo plane to land and taxi to our ramp area. It was very windy and snowing hard. I was thinking there is no way this plane is going to land. It's going to abort. But to my shock, a while later, we see it taxing towards us from far away. When it got closer it can be seen to be a 747.
I always wondered if their smaller cargo plane being smaller and lighter would have aborted. I never bothered to ask around to find out.
But I still was very surprised that a 747 landed. I just didn't think it was safe conditions for any plane to land.
That was sketchy! All kinds of winds coming from everywhere probably. Imagine 100 feet off the ground with a 20kt loss. Great decision by the pilot.
So where tf did the plane go to land? 😂
on all flights pilots before hand have diversion airports ready heck a flight cannot take of if there is no diversion airport. flights may get delayed because the diversion airport may not have good weather
*alternate, you must have a minimum of one destination alternate and you'll select enroute alternates as appropriate
An airport..
Fukuoka Airport
It went and perched on a tree for a bit until things calmed down
Good call and great pilots! Safety is always first. The on time numbers and every number following are not as important as safety first! I applaud this flight crew! ❤️❤️❤️
I can hear the passenger screams from here.
Great call by the crew.
Thank you for the professional decision of the pilot and his crews
That has to be one of the most potent laxatives known to man. Kudos to the pilots for handling the situation so well.
That climb was scary, the plane could’ve stalled 😮
The steep climb is pretty amazing. The pilots have to ascend to a height above the typhoon reach. God bless.
Airplane looks so beautiful flying like a bird😊 God bless the pilot
Thats one hell of a ride for the passengers,,,that steep climb though😮
Such a great pilot ❤
O God let all reach safely to their destination Amen
Wouldn't want to be on that one. Hits you in the feels for those that were.
So, who is taking this video with a very steady hand?
In 1996 we were diverted from gatwick to Heathrow to Manchester uk.
Nice flight simulator video, gotta love the pixelated edges, and yaw rate change that big slow jets on approach cannot make.
This isn’t real?
Yes it is he's just being a clown@@barbaravyse660
@@barbaravyse660it’s real
Big and slow are relative terms and the forces involved in throwing that airplane around are no joke. (neither the wind, nor the forces generated on the control surfaces)
WOW 😮
I hope everyone is fine, I just pray that the plan landed safely 😰😰😣😣😣😣😣🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Ben blij dat ik daarniet in zit.

I don't mean to be a party pooper but no way in hell am I getting on that plane.
Jeju Air (Korea)! Very good decision pilot so smart
Brave pilots! I would've said Nope! and turned the plane around, and went right back to Seoul 😂
With the amount of crashes lately...im glad they got out of there and landed safe
This video does not look real at all 😂.
I fully agree, as I didn't know flights have other planes flying close to them video taking the flights
What!!

#Uncanny
Holding on. Love the captain fast thinking. ❤
Just what I thought, the last couple of seconds of video, he seemed to start to get the nose down and get the bad situation under control. Well done pilot
Now that was some stellar piloting. The captin and crew were just breath takings. Job well done I would fly with you guy's anywhere and anytime ❤❤😊😊
I would've pissed myself with the teetering
Nice Yatra❤❤❤❤
Thank you God and to pilot 🧑✈️
GOD BLESS THEM🙏🙏🙏
That was more like an aborted approach because they were nowhere near touchdown.
I'm sure the passengers felt this!
I'm more surprised he didn't know a Typhoon was approaching.
That's absolutely ridiculous no airliner should be flying like that on a go-around and I'm a pilot That is reckless operation
Pilots please request to be re-routed to an alternate airport if you know there’s a typhoon in the forecast. Sheesh! 😟
Prefiero viajar mil veces en avión q en barcos, Dios bendiga 🙏✝️🛐
I would be crying premium tears in that plane!!!
Very good reaction of the pilot and co-pilot to divert the plane for another place safer
It looks like a toy plane being help up by like a string and pulled back and forth those are crazy winds
I’m assuming the captain is a former fighter pilot 😀
The way he’s swinging that thing around like a RC PLANE IS SCARY!
Prayers for pilots
This is why I'm not flying right now. Something's not right out there.
They don't know how close they came to crashing
I'm sure he's trying to get out of the crosswinds as quickly as possible
Wise. Planes also have to worry about microbursts. Basically strong blasts of wind that shove a plane straight down, smashing it into the ground.
I would have been terrified. Why they even attempted to land is beyond my comprehension.
This was one hell of a ride. The rocking back and forth is fairly normal, but when you see the plane getting pushed back, and they had to go full throttle and a steep climb, the passengers were feeling some G-forces and being pushed into their seats. Maybe 4 Gs, maybe a little more
Like a roller coaster ride.
They may have had some bowel movements
Seeing how easily they cancel flights in America, I remember being stuck in Dulles, Virginia ( Washington DC ) for 3 weeks because they had 1 inch of snow and a little ice.
All the American planes would not fly, but I watched Asian planes take off one after another with no trouble
And I remember in the 70s and 80s never having a flight cancelled
I flew out of Bangor Maine in a blizzard with 50 MPH winds and snow so hard you couldn't see across the street
I miss those days
