The 2019 corn silage harvest is in full swing for us. Everything was going good until... Kevin went to turn the head on and something snapped.
Now we wait for all the part to arrive which will be a 4 day wait.

I was about to say the same thing :D
Super trucker kinzie!!!
She is doing very good!
@@acresofclayhomestead yep!!.
I thought Mom was doing the snap changing or gear floating as you referred.
I'm amazed.
Holy Mackenzies getting good at driving that truck!
Mommy taught daughter well in how to throw down them gears, she is doing excellent running that truck now. Thanks for sharing this video with, have a wonderful Sunday. god bless
Like the blanket across the lap.
Reminds me of when I drove a 1958 Jeep East from Colorado in December 1974. No heat in the Jeep. Picked up a hitchhiker, he lasted one hour, said it was to cold for him.🤣🤣🤣
Memories often had to drive a vehicle with no heat. Always had a blanket in the truck keep me warm.
Lol! To cold for the hitchhiker. :)
Were those the good old days...😊
So here's a memory. 1977 I was working for a farm over by Sandusky Mi. my pay was 40 bucks a week and R&B. 4:30 am breakfast supper was at 6 pm every other weekend off.
Those were the good o'l days .
Today The machines are user friendly,
And So We carry on from the seat of our pants to the stride in our walk.
Im thinking the pay still needs to be desired compared to them days our spend powers havent changed much.
Our desire to spend has
Ugh! I grew up on a farm so, I know how frustrating these breakdowns are. Hope the parts come in on time or early!
Makinzie is the coolest truck driver i have seen
Mackenzie can shift those gears ⚙️ on that truck like a professional, she don’t even look down she just smiles and keep on trucking, can wait till she get in that semi, i know she had a a great teacher👍 ,because Mommy can shift those gears to , you two are just a like, Love it❤️👍👍👍
Y’all are amazing! Y’all do everything! 🙏❤️🙏
Mckenzie swings a mean hammer putting those purlins up.
U girls are so hilarious. I love watching you two work together. Thanks for the laughs
I really admire how you all stay so cheerful in such adversity. I hope it all worked out well
Makinze is driving good and shifting smooth very cool 👍 it sure looks cold
It's lovely to see you all working together as a family it's amazing how you show your day to day challenges keep up the good work 👍
Great video
Wow ! What a operation , team work at it's finest ! Stay safe ! Bob
wow nice video looks really cold there, here in australia having a heat wave and bushfires. great job kenz on commentary and asking your mum questions and the driving.
Rhonda you and your daughter make the vids so cool. Man I hope all parts go in well again always so positive about all and keeping the faith y’all truly blessed. There was one place in the video looked like gods eyes looking down on us all
I'm amazed that there is so much green in your corn. Great silage.
I just got back to Vermont and its snowing and I had my fingers crossed hoping that kevins part came in so you can finish chopping keep us posted !
Seems to be the nature of farming. With what little time I’ve been on the farm with y’all ( through video) I’m confident you’ll get things working again.
I have the upmost respect for any family that farms. What each 'small' farm family goes through just to get their product to the table is mind-boggling. Tks for taking us along on ur journey!
Hope all the parts came in and you are now back in the fields again working on your harvest
You guys are lucky to have access to a dump cart a lot of farmers in my area are looking for one with no luck. Good luck with your harvest and god bless
Very hardworking family! 👍👍👍
Mama said she's always thinking ahead. Then she rolls her eyes lol. Love y'alls videos haha.
Sorry to see you have a breakdown with the weather getting worse. Hope to see you when it is fixed and in the field again. Love Kinsey’s expressions. They are really funny sometimes. So great to see how she is driving and shifting without looking at the shifter or grinding the gears. Need to start her on the Simi’s next!
The Joy's of being a farmer. Sorry to see the breakdown . Harvest is already hard enough.
Hammer that old Freightliner Keep the rubber side down stay safe
I meant to say hey, the little cutie is not looking down anymore when she shifts. She has her confidence mojo down.
Hey guys just a little tip from a master Machinist if you have bearing failure if you can get the numbers off of the bearing you can save yourself some time and money by avoiding dealerships. Any parts store can cross-reference a bearing number. I just got through completely restoring a 5000 Ford in my area Ford parts or getting hard to find Kubota is taking over so I ordered all my parts online. Just some tips hope it helps
We almost always cross reference numbers, and buy parts online, but this time we ordered thru the dealership because we were hoping they had them on hand and we could pick them up. But, we still had to wait.
He’s the little cutie isn’t looking down now when she shifts
Rhonda and kenzie u r amazing woman u have many talents love your videos it does look like fun
So sorry this happened...I've subscribed to your channel and have watched several of your videos. I never actually worked on a farm except for haying during the summer when I was a kid, but I come from a family of dairy farmers and worked as a farm pickup driver for approximately 29 years. I pray everything works out well for you and you are able to get back out into the fields to finish harvesting your crops :-)
God Bless,
Jeff :-)
Welcome to our channel! Thank You!!!
She is shifting like a boss It must be that she ahead a good teacher
*Multitasking*
You have to be able and willing to fix anything from Machines to Mum, Makinzie and anything after hours
And save a dollar here and there.
This family is showing me love is inadvertantly right there.
COOL VID.
Rhonda, your semi driving skills are enviably, you are an true asset to your farm family.
It's always 3am when you guys post a video and like usual I'm still in the fendt 1050 so thank you for the content keep it up guys
When do you sleep!!?? Thanks for watching!
I couldnt live without the dump cart, once we got one we used to pull the trks backwards with the corn picker, then unhook when full and push the trk out of field with dozer we never knew what life really was until the dumpcart
awesome ladies driving them turbo trucks hauling silage...gotta love it....you go girls
Hopefully those parts will fit! Doesn’t always happen.
Ladies, ye are playing a blinder of a roll in the whole process. Go have a hot coffee and give the repair crew space. Tensions can run high on such occasions as this.
Great video.
Hey Ronda, Another great video!! Very enjoyable
Ronda and Mackenzie drivin' and rollin' coal while helping Kevin...Nice!!!!
Blessings!!!! James
Lol she driveling the hell out that truck love 💕 watching u guys keep it up
McKenzie is so darn cute in that tandem. HAMMER DOWN!!!!!
Holy Smokies that 2 stroke diesel sounds good!

Wow she was so fast when she drive the truck. Oh my gosh it so much fun to drive the tractor Im hope it will be fun to drive the tractor
good morning Tuesday 15 21 watching new video today ✌🙏👍❤🌹🌻🌻🌻
That ground will be freezing hard pretty quick. McKenzie is truckin good 😉
Excellent job grabbing gears Makenzie
Mother and daughter handle those rigs really good
Prayers to you guys! I've been where Kevin is in this vid. All you can do is smile and shake your head. Generally it's a $30 bearing that causes $1000 in repairs. I still remember finding a broken tooth in the bottom of the gear case on a JD 4020. I said, "it's just one tooth". By the end of the day I had a $6000 repair bill. Anyhow, tell Kenzie "Hi" from this MacKenzie…;)
Thank you! Yes, so much damage from just a bearing!
Woot woot you get the weekend off!
Makinzie you came to life... wow!
very good shifting and driving from mackenzie. .
Makinzie has learned to drive that truck very well.good teacher I guess
I have seen multiple farms chopping with carts and dumping into trailer this last week here in northern lower Michigan
Good morning Producer Ronda! Mackenzie is becoming quite the pro at driving the straight truck. That truck sounds badass by the way. I'm surprised that the tractor and harvester didn't get stuck in that mud. The addition of the dramatic music really solidified the gravity of the situation you all were dealt when the harvester broke. I'm going to guess its fixed now? Thank you for working so hard on these videos for us on top of the work that keeps your farm running. Hope you and your family enjoy your Sunday.
Parts will be here tomorrow. Then we can get back to harvesting. Thanks for watching!
Kenzie is getting real good driving that truck!
I no one thing that ground looks great tho nice ground ... and girl you drive that truck very good
thinks for sharing
Thank you!
Just had a forage council meeting last week everybody in Michigan is in the same boat pretty much
Thanks for sharing 👍
Kenzie did a good job at driving that straight piped fld.
Corn looks good, I know you got behind on posting some videos because of Internet. When was this? Corn had a nice amount of green still in it.
Hi
The chopper broke on Thursday. Parts should be here tomorrow.
@@acresofclayhomestead sorry to here that

People have to know , how hard the Bread is made!
Thank you, so much!
Hope you get it fixed and are able to continue
Thank god for four wheel drive!
Rhonda
Just a suggestion, somewhere I've seen a 12 volt heater you can get to put in the truck to keep you warm, if I see one again, I'll E-Mail you to let you know where you can get one
But for the time being, use gloves and mittens to keep from getting frostbite
Thank you! We will stay warm. :)
The always have those heaters at a motorhome / camping trailer store. Try Camping World.

Totally awesome,!!!!!!!!!!!!
The joys of farm equipment.
Hi! I'm hoping that you wonderful people are not affected by Dean's Milks Bankruptcy today 11/12/2019 thank you for all the awesome videos you present to us! God Bless & Stay Warm! ...I'm in southern Indiana and it's quite chilly. 16 degrees!
Woke up to 15 degrees this morning! Dean's won't affect us.
Gee good thing your in a cab tractor, looks like it would be cold and raw in an open station tractor. I,m suprised you don,t get any ram air heat from the truck when it,s going down the road. The 1st truck i drove in my trucking career was a 66 Mack DM800 dump truck with a 18 spd quad box 2 shifters. In the winter months hauling gravel i do remember freezing in that truck as the heater only put out cool barely warm air.
The blower went out in the truck, so that's why no heat.
When are you going to put more videos Up .i enjoy watching your show and learning so much about farming
Good job on cutting corn
I am not sure if a failure like that is harder on the wallet or the heart. all your videos do a great job of showing what farmers go through to make a living.
I feel the pain Kevin just keeps rolling with the punches it’s all you can do ✌️
McKenzie has become a really good lorry driver
Man you two women on the farm impress me!
It's a Freightliner putting duct tape over the intake for the heater on the hood and on the blower inside the cab put a hole in it you'll have all sorts of heat
Tell her good shifting them gears and you can hit gears good to pretty girl y’all be safe on the farm
Hi Guys, Nothing like a catastrophic failure to ruin your day. If there is anything good about this it's that you can fix it. all you can do is look for the Bright side that your not paying someone to come and spend your money doing the repair. I hope everything goes into place easy . Oh is the no heat in the truck a fan issue or line valve or a head gasket leak/bubble in the heater core ?
Anyway I hope your coming week is much better . 🇨🇦 Craig.
Heater core is corroded and the blower bearing was setup. My oldest son was working on fabricating a new bearing for it yesterday and he says we should have some heat. :)
Sorry for another breakdown. Was Kevin a mechanic before farming or has he just learned out of necessity? Whichever, he sure does a great job on fixing things. Kenzie is doing a great job driving. I remember how scared she was at first. Great teaching, Mom! Hope all the parts fit & you’re up & running again in no time. Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍😃❤️
Kevin did work as a mechanic before he started milking cows.
Ouches, sorry for the breakdown, and wet fields. Will get better. This too will pass. 🙏🙏
Yes, this to WILL pass. Thanks for that reminder! :)
Yes! That's what the Good Book says.
Always something you have good and bad when farming
Hard luck on the Kemper head people, but Mackenzie has got a good grip on the truck driving now:):)
I swear half of any farming is frustration and delays. Few breakdowns warn you first. Naturally, that always equates into dollars. Be strong family.
Thousands pulling for you.
Thank you so much!!!
You do what you have to do as long as it is safe and legal and do what you have to feed the cows you can’t feed air
Great ending music! Suspenseful for “The Saga of the Broken Bearings.” 😁 Though seriously, I have no idea how farmers can make any money with all the equipment needed, the continual maintenance and repairs, livestock, feed, land, barns.... It makes me wonder how a person from a non-farmer family could ever start farming. There seems to be SO much overhead.
Little by little the farm grows. :)
Yes agree,
Grow more cows and steers.
There be meat for the freezer,
Some for the sale.
Love This family scene.
Love the dramatic music
All one can do is take a deep breath and move on to the next big thing until parts come in so you all can make repairs.
Sheesh!!! Lead foot Lucy in reverse.
Yall need some 2 way radios .
Nice
Field doesn’t drain very good. Wonder if drain tile would help. Your daughter is doing great. Love the smile 😃. I seen some white crap falling from the sky Lololol. Yuck. Stay warm
The field is tiled. Just wet clay that doesn't drain well. Thanks for watching!
Acres of Clay Homestead our farm to the east is the same way. Sticky really compacted when it’s wet. Drys a little bit and drains decent. But when it’s wet it’s a mess. This farm here is rocky and water runs off like a duck. Wish you all the best and hope things get fixed and you can get your crop off
This is ware C.B. Radios come in handy
