These videos are just brilliant. I can actually imagine you doing voiceovers for natural history programmes.
I think you were right in saying that you could have played one more spell in that first game. You were one damage short when the Song of Creation trigger resolved, and had you played one more spell you would have an additional storm count before the Song trigger resolved, killing your opponent before the trigger forced you to lose.
About 9:20 - what you said was correct though. If you’re cast one more spell before grapeshot you would’ve had one more storm trigger that resolves before song trigger so you’d have won regardless

I've been a believer of Perilous Iteration for a couple of weeks now. Been running a Jund Midrange deck with it (courtesy of Takobyte), and holy crap has it over-performed. It's so good, even if you don't build around turning it into a tutor like Crokeyz has. Reminds me so much of Expressive Iteration.

Basically the same list as Takobyte's, only the lands and a couple of Kill spell swaps compared to his list. I'd recommend checking out his video about it. You could have done what you said to do in Game 1, since the Stork Count would have been 1 higher
It would not have increased the damage though because the original grapeshot couldn't have resolved before he mills himself out.

@@marklieberman1527 yes but since the original grapshot couldn't resolve it would be the same damage: 18 storm damage + 1 original spell damage = 19 damage. 19 damage + 1 storm damage - 1 original spell damage is still 19 damage.

Mana Confluence is a must in this deck, it's better than a painland most of the time in a deck like thi.s.

I dont think Lurrus is "quite likely to be a thoughtseize deck", the most powerful lurrus deck being hammer (then obviously artifacts w/metatect etc)

There’s another version I made like this but u draw your whole deck and then play glint horn buccaneer and kill them with dmg. You can also use the bird wizard that summons p9 to get infinite turns and dmg.

No, probably a partnership with WOTC for educational content for arena, or their editor wants to boost the video output to work with UA-cam’s algorithm
The answer is actually that crokeyz is recording videos off stream to post on UA-cam and increase his content range.
He's not really boosting the video output. He could just post more from the stream. I'm more inclined to believe that he wants to spend more time with Oliver and that these videos are less time-consuming to produce.

Historic just looks... extremely awful. Every single deck you faced looks unfun to play against
Bo3 is much better than this. Combo decks are held in check by Sideboards pretty well at the moment.

Go play explorer and have fun facing greasefang, mono g ramp and mono blue spirits. Historic is best format
It's awful in BO1, every deck is a turn 2/3 combo deck. BO3 meta runs a lot more midrange friendly.

Making and playing these decks is just a brain exercise... it's actually similar to programming IMO.
If you want grand strategy play chess or go.

Kind of a shame Thassa's Oracle is banned (otherwise it would ensure mill / life gain doesnt deck you as their wincon)

@@julius333333 So you can have other turn II wins with other broken cards but not Thassa's Oracle? Either you slow down the format and tweak some of these cards OR we embrace turn II or turn III as the new norm.
Historic is actually unfun. Explorer is the vastly superior format.
Just having to click 19 times on opponent tells me how shitty historic is
