You know how much I love Des Moines and this is essentially a heavier version of it with more range, more guns, more HP and more armor in a lower tier but worse maneuverability, concealment and accuracy.

It's two things I've always wanted wrapped into one package: A Des Moines that doesn't explode just by looking at it, and a battleship that can fire its guns more than once every fiscal quarter.

He was trying to go for a drive by, and held his fire. The problem is, he held it for way too long. He should have been firing to disable guns as soon as Flambass started to turn to stay bow in. It’s still likely he wouldn’t have won, but he would have had a better chance than waiting as long as he did.
A lot of people seem to forget that cruisers vastly out dpm BBs. Illinois lacks the sheer stopping power of other BBs, but outside of situations where an enemy can delete half her health per salvo or starts the fight with much lower health, she’s going to win most close range fights.
That Iowa demonstrated this admirably. They went for a drive by, where they would have definitely held the advantage, but ended up stuck with Illinois’ bow instead.
I don't know. 30 second reload vs 6 second. Flambass was getting 7-15 k per salvo on Iowas broadside. Even if Iowa gets a 30-40k salvo, Illinois still out DPM's in a broadside match (assuming you aim correctly as Flambass did)
no matter how low you set the bar, there is always someone who tries to lower it and manages to do it
Excellent that mate, did you notice the CV could only use Rockets. He was awful with the torps. I got a Quacken this morning, but mine are on the same cycle has Halley's Comet.

BBs with fast reloads are my favorite, and this just goes even faster, with the great gun performance of the super heavy 8" American heavy cruiser guns. Looks like serious fun.
Now that's how you brawl! That Iowa player must have been very disappointed when he returned to port.
That Vladi on his team was extra speshuul. Moves toward an island that has a Black behind it, into a potential crossfire from an Iowa and a NC and keeps yelling for support. Not sure what he expected his teammates to do in that situation.

The commander is Com. Richard, Russian CC I think. BTW, WG has pulled Mighty Jingles and Com. Richard, from the WoWS wikipedia for unique/special commanders. It is like Pharaohs striking the names out of the WoWS records. I would not think they are that petty.

@@crabsyoureit IDK. I just noticed it today. As to why? All I can reference is the past with Steven Segal. Jingles videos just points out good game play and stupid game mechanics. He is not a toxic person that you see on his videos. I know that Jingles still features WoWS videos.
@@tpaktop2_1na As iDuckman already replied on your forum thread, commanders that don't have any special skills or talents have never been listed on the unique/special commanders page. All they have are special portraits and voices (and in Jingles's case, a propensity to misidentify ships). And if you look at the page history, you'll see that they weren't removed (because they were never there in the first place).

From the French name of the nearby Rivière des Moines, which superficially means "river of the monks" and has traditionally been interpreted as a reference to the Trappist monks who settled along it.

There was nothing to see but torture. Guy was FDG in his spawn for 1st 5-6 mins, complaining about me trying to fight, unfortunately I was alone on my flank and was also getting farmed by enemy DD. I told him to shut up and start actually playing on which he responded "I'm gonna rush right side". I started laughing at the "rush" part. He yoloed and rammed the 1st ship he came in touch with, then proceeded to spam chat how useless I am. When I decided to push in a take the cap, he kept calling me useless. I got reset a lot of time because DD played well but I kept him out of the cap and got the cap eventually. Unfortunately that's about all I could do solo on the side and the rest of the team was ofc dead so we lost.
Results screen put him under me on EXP and I was useless...go figure

This thing is going to make a lot of people (myself included) actually bother to grind research points. Give it a few weeks and Illinois will be everywhere and WG will have no choice but to nerf. I'm guessing the reload will take the biggest hit, and wouldn't be surprised to see it surpass 10-11 seconds (like most heavy cruisers). Enjoy it while we can.
The amount of times someone from my team surprisingly tells me to get back these days, when I'm simply playing the game, is mind boggeling.
Most of the time it is probably innocent. They assume what you are doing Is a bad move because that is the safe assumption. It is hard to tell the difference between a Yolo, an over extension and a brave job of positioning in the early stages.
I think we need another term above OP for this ship...

it actually has BB dispersion formula, not cruiser
@@Hexaion It actually has _battlecruiser_ dispersion. It started with normal battleship dispersion, then was buffed to battlecruiser/large cruiser dispersion.

re Russian comms in ww2: They more often used the old fashioned flags for coordinating tank attacks - commander literally stands in the turret and waves flags for the others to see.
Wasn't much in the way of radios.
People who trash talk after playing like that are the worst. I had a WoT game in my M103 where someone did the same thing, except he body blocked me in spawn with his Centurion and wouldnt let me leave until I "treated him with respect" lol. He went off, killed a tank with less than 100 hp and died, complaining it was all my fault he wasn't there to lead the rest of the team. So anyway I absolutely demolished the last 6 enemies and won the match after, he didnt have much to say about it so it was a good ending and one of the few games of WoT I remember playing just because of how stupid he was, but also winning that game was so satisfying.

This game. Often hear people say 'learn to play' Part of learning to play is listening to experienced players. SO.. you listen, do as youre told only to learn that the dickhead that is experienced is a complete potato.. so.. you try to learn from someone else that speaks up.. potato number 2. Eventually you stop listening and just play how you feel is right.. and someone calls you out even if what you are doing is right. The player base of THIS game is where it should be.. a bunch of people that just stopped giving a shit about anything or anyone else..
Hard to learn from your peers when they are trolling, selfish or just have less clue than you do. SO.. TO anyone thinking of playing this game.. yawn

I feel the pain of dead idiots berating you. Had a match tonight that my team all died, we had a strong lead, I just had to get away and ride the clock to win on points in my Massa. But the enemy team had a full health sub and a 3/4 Hawke bb. So I take off to run, but the stupid sub is faster then me, spotting me for the bb and spamming torps at me from 6 to 7 km. This idiot is going insane in chat, telling me to airstrike the sub. If you know anything about the Massa, likely like the sub player did, you know the airstrike is gimped to 5km for some big brain reason. So he's spotting me, spamming torps, and I can't even see him unless he pings, which he barely does, unless he already has torps on the way. But it's my fault and the guy just goes crazy in chat. Eventually the sub got greedy and moved into 5km and I killed him, but the hawke was only 8km away at that point and I'd taken about 4 or 5 sub torps. He lit me on fire with no repair party and we lost. 🤷♂️

Worst torpedo drops I've ever seen.
I play this game for about 2 years now and I already realized in the first few weeks, that the most of the "louder" community of WoWS is plain dumb. Solution: I made the "ignore option" my best friend and since then, I never ever got bothered by stupid people in the game.
You play this game for several more years and still get bothered by these guys? In all seriousness, I gotta ask you: "who is the dumb guy?" 🤣

Oh like you are saying at the start so many players in this game are that dumb and suicide early just so they can bitch others, it has happened too me many times and the guy is telling all the team too report me, and the end shows I am top by a mile and yet still I see some have listened and I end up with like 3 reports, dumb people man I wish they would get out of this game.
