I haven't spent 3 years just on this video :) - more like 3 months! (on the audio, mainly). Much of what you see was recorded back in late 2011, early 2012, so it was strange going back to it after all this time. But I've recorded a lot of stuff since the previous part, Health Problems, so many more episodes are on the way, although how long each one will take will depend on the length of the video and the amount of work needed on the audio - and my brain! :)
Well what else can I say except WOW !!!! You know how long I have been waiting for the new stuff WOW it was worth the wait !! The new characters were cool the one in the beginning with the pot belly was vicious Good to have you back Beserkoid dont stay away too long keep the good stuff coming your fans are lovin it.
Very entertaining still after all this time you can really tell that time and effort goes into these glad to see you're still making awesome vids : } I really love the action in all of these, there is good balance between setting the stage and the action afterwords love it bud keep up the good work : }
@memphismane901omb6 Hi, thanks for watching - this is all Gmod - the video is a first-person movie/machinima, not a playthrough of something you can download and play - and I've listed all the addons/tools I used in the video's description (there are a lot of them!). One of the tools I used was NPC Scene, which enables you to select an NPC to play a choreographed scene from the original game, although I also used Faceposer in the Source SDK to string together and edit some of the animations and gestures for the Combine Soldiers and Metropolice - stuff like the Camo Soldier signalling to Freeman at the end of the video - which I triggered by using the setexpressionoverride/scenes console command. Thanks again and cheers for watching.
@Red Army Sorry, I don't want to answer that question yet! But yes, they're both, (though also something else), and you'll be seeing more of them in later videos, when you'll find out how they came to be "rogue". Thanks for watching, and thanks for checking out the other videos, and for your comments on them as well.
@bart. st. Hi, I couldn't remember at first but I've found my old PowerDirector file that contains the timeline for all the audio and video edits - the alarm is from the game and is called combine_bank_alarm_loop1.wav. Thanks for watching.
kristian panong They're rebels who've joined Civil Protection to work undercover for the Resistance, and to infiltrate and disrupt the Combine (like Barney in the original HL2) - there's more info in the next episode, Hydra Phobia :)
Betsy Hopkins Hi, I'm not sure yet, but I have some ideas for later in this series that involve Episode One that ... that I'd rather not talk about at the moment, sorry! :)
My favourite scene here is how the combine at the end tell Gordon to get out. Combines are tsundere stereotypes that do what they do to get Freeman's notice.
hmm.. soo.. umm.. rebel combine wants to help freeman... hmm.. is that in the hl2 too? or it's only in the beta.. hmm.. i never meet rebel combine ... 22:20
I just use a free program called GCFScape to extract the audio files from the original game, then edit the files in PowerDirector to make new words and phrases for the soldiers and the Metrocops (and, recently, the Overwatch announcer), which are then added to the soundtrack after I've finished editing the video. Been playing around with the G-Man's speeches too for these latest videos that I'm (STILL) working on, though unlike the Combine's monotone minions, it's difficult to edit his audio because of his eccentric tone and phrasing. But I think I've managed to come up with some stuff that (hopefully) sounds convincing and interesting - adding radio static and other audio FX does a good job of disguising any clumsy editing too :D
No, not all from HL2 (all the music used in the video is mentioned in the description) but yes, I always try to use something that's related to the HL universe - from HL and its expansion packs, HL2 and its episodes, or even from mods, like MINERVA - or occasionally I'll throw in some music from another Valve game, something that I just feel would fit the mood of a scene (eg the track playing during the last few minutes is from Alien Swarm) - so the music at 14:39 is from Half-Life: Opposing Force, while the track that starts at around 18:30 is from Half-Life 2: Episode Two - and is one of my favourites from the whole series :)
The way the cremator just stands and stares at freeman is just downright fuckin creepy. Literally vietnam flashbacks as if this cremator knows him the most and shit, even when his weapon is damaged and needs to go get it repaired its like he knows he’ll get him soon. Just not today....
What's wrong with Freeman?) Was the Cremator really like a friend to him in Black Mesa. and that Freeman has some glitches in his head? looks like city 17
During Black Mesa East, you can find the cremator head in Eli's lab and he says that Alyx brings in strange things. *There is a possibility that cremators will show up in Half-Life Alyx*

I mean in your story Gordon never meet one until the chapter before no prisoners..... And how you made the guys to become cloaked??
Thanks! The 'Beta' NPCs and models are in various addon packs for Gmod which I mention in the video description (I also use the Model Manipulator when necessary), and the 'cloaking' of the Camo soldiers was just a sort of stop-animation effect, pausing the action to change the model and material of the NPCs (as in 15:39 to 24:07) - and, thanks again, but sorry, I don't want to say too much about those scenes with the Cremator...:)
