Rooster is one of my favourite units, up there with dodo and swan. Out of all the summon type pets (cricket, spider, whale, etc.) it's easily the strongest one for me as not just a summoner pet, but just a pet in general. Its effect is relevant not just in mid game, but it is also scales very well into the late game because it's one of the few pets that can force its damage to hit into multiple enemies. In the late game most units will get 1-2 hits before they get knocked out, but Rooster can get that 1-2 Hits and then spawn 1-2 creatures who will echo attack in its Stead, making it effectively get to attack 3-4 times. I compare it to Gorilla in that way, but Rooster shows up significantly sooner and thus has more time to get value and scale.
Also gorilla needs to survive a hit before getting the coconut armour, which can be very hard in the late game as even melon armour can often get punched through with pure damage.
@@Viscidsquare040 can't you use the sleeping pill in the shop to kill a hedgehog/badger and trigger the gorilla that way before the battle even started? Though you'd need additional space for that
@@kylemac8672 From what I've seen a lot of the issues NL runs into, as well as what I imagine most players run into, is focusing too hard on the synergies a team has instead of the stats a team has in the endgame. You can have an elephant which hits the camel and peacock behind it, enabling their on hit synergies to juice up the peacock mid battle. If I frontrun a 20/20 with garlic armour into that squad, there's a pretty good chance I'm going to win the battle without my first pet even fainting. Synergies are useful mainly in the mid rounds of the game before you get access to the pets and food that give really good scaling. Once turn 9 rolls around however, you need to move past in-combat synergies and simply try to focus on what makes your units as big as they can be. Which is a bit sad, because synergies are very fun and people like making teams that work together like a well-oiled machine as opposed to having a "Good Stuff" deck. But Good Stuff is the natural end-point for SAP.
