I literally watched this video yesterday, and i was happy that MAYBE a season 3 of mystery incorporated could happen, and literally less than a day, all my hopes were crushed.
As a kid I was not the biggest fan of this series, mostly because it was sometimes too creepy for my liking, but after a few years I decided to give it another try and it became one of if not my favorite Scooby-Doo series, and after watching it I was researching if they will ever plan to make another season, not gonna lie, for the rest of the week I was pretty sad that it will not continue, so this made me extremely happy and excited.
I would absolutely LOVE to see another season of Mystery Incorporated!! Only thing I would be scared of is A. The lack of the supporting cast that we, as the audience, have grown to adore, and B. Who said returning cast will be replaced by. If a third season is renewed, I’m expecting for Cartoon Network to be more directly involved in it, meaning the company may push for decisions particularly regarding new characters that may not reflect the spirit of the first two seasons
Cartoon Network stopped being directly involved with the Scooby franchise after the failure of Be Cool, with the latest series Guess Who going to Boomerang for Season 1, and HBO Max airing Season 2 like they did Young Justice Season 4. (CN has briefly aired reruns, but that's it.) This means we likely wouldn't have to see any production involvement with CN for the third season of this if it happens, more likely HBO Max, and since it's a Warner Bros. Animation original like Young Justice and would be streaming instead of TV, that level of meddling and tampering would probably not happen. Young Justice on HBO Max has been pretty free to let the creators do what they wanted, and the upcoming Velma series has a TVMA adult rating which shows the tight grip that was on the Scooby franchise has been loosened at least a little. There's probably not quite as much to worry about when it comes to that at least!
I love the Harley Quinn show, so I'm very intrigued to see if Velma can reach the same heights. Hopefully it makes it to release considering HBO Max is potentially going to be killed off and Scooby projects are no longer a priority for Discovery after the cancelling of the new movie yesterday. I would hate for this to be a casualty though it seems like an easy target.
That’s an exciting possibility. Hopefully it happens. Considering how the ending implies that the entire series is just a prequel to Where are You, it could be fun to see some classic monsters reimagined but within the context of a grander narrative. I also love the idea of a college setting, there’s so many possibilities for characters and plot lines there. I’d also be interested to see the whole different universes/timeline reset thing be explored.
I took it as being set between Where Are You and The Scooby Doo Show. We see that the gang have already encountered all the monsters from Where Are You as they appear in the museum. The Scooby Doo Show was the series where they seemed to travel across America more.

YES YES YES to everything. I would love for this show to comeback and totally agree on the voice casting for Velma. This series is everything, the mysteries, the style, the developed relationships, Daphne and Fred are at their best in this series and the following movie era, I just love it all. Plus there's no reason not to have actual paranormal characters
scooby doo did not have actual paranormal charachters after this show ended unforttunatly. even some follow ups of 13 ghost and the new zombie island one retconned the idea that the previous show 13 ghost and schooby doo on zombie island had real monsters unfortunatly. wich to me was really stupid. the few movies and shows that had real monsters where some of the best incarnations in my opions.

At least Scoob! had real monsters buuuuut scoob and the live action movie tend to lean that way anyway, I want a live action without a real monster
While it's great to hear of the possibility of a third season, I feel a little conflicted about it. I thought the ending was a good sendoff to the show with everything already wrapped up before the finale. If I was younger, I definitely would've wanted the show to continue, but looking back, I'm kinda glad Mystery Incorporated went out like Gravity Falls, going out on their own terms instead of being canceled by the network and having everything resolved within the span of two seasons no less!
They didn’t go out on their own terms tho, they had plans for other seasons and season 3 was cancelled. Also did you watch the series it ended on a massive cliff hanger everything was far from wrapped up
@Max x Roxanne 4ever Yeah but she just doesn't work with MI Velma. MI Velma IS Mindy. There's no ifs ands or buts about it. That Velma is one that rightly needs to be played by Mindy. No other VA can take that version of Velma and fit well with it.

@Max x Roxanne 4ever She became way more skeptical than Mindy's Velma and in HHSD, even though it was part of an arc in that movie, outright snapped at Scooby and Shaggy for being the cowards they are known for usually being She had character personality changes wether you noticed it or not.
If you an't see the personality changes after Kate was brought on(Her name's Kate, not Katie), you must be really inept when it comes to finding personality changes in reincarnations of long existing characters
I would definitely love to see this show return for a third season! Back then, I didn't get much of a chance to watch it on Cartoon Network, but years later, back in 2019, I watched the entire series and loved it. The character development, darker tone, and story arcs were amazing! I really hope this show does come back. I really want to see more! :)
Anyone who doesn't "see any value in the Scooby franchise" should be banned from running a studio/film company, as the franchise must have been quite lucrative, seeing how many Scooby films/shows we've had over the years.
This is a tough one. On the one hand, MI is the greatest of all the Scooby revival series, a personal favorite of mine with Pup coming in a close second, and I'd love to see more episodes of that sort of Scooby. On the other hand, while I understand they had plans for another season back when the show was in production, and it is a pretty solid concept, the ending of the series was perfection. The whole series arc is that there's a dark cloud hanging over the crew that gave things an ominous and serious weight behind them, but that was resolved in the last episodes. The series ends off in an alternate timeline where things are brighter, happier, Mr. E and co were their best selves, and they even end off with a 60's style laugh track, obviously suggesting the new timeline is the old series. While I would have faith in the writers to do justice to that tonal shift, I don't know if they'd be able to keep what made that show work best under said tonal shift. Also, yeah... Mindy should return as that universe's/timeline's Velma. I personally think she's the best Velma since the original, but I'm a big fan of Kate since her days as the ukulele playing dork from Scrubs and the same basic character in Raising Hope. I've been having a moral quandary of "don't make me choose" since the recast. But for consistency's sake, Mindy should totally return. I mean, they go back and forth with Bugs Bunny from show to show (switching from Eric Bauza and Jeff Bergman depending). Though I'll be very disappointed if they bring back that Sheriff for the Scoob Christmas movie and he's NOT Patrick Warburton. Unless they give Brock Baker a call. He does him pretty dead on.
Yeah, I love Kate in everything else I've ever seen her in, and her Velma is something I appreciate more every time I hear it, but her take on the character is completely different from Mindy's, who pretty much owns this incarnation. I would hope Kate and whoever makes those kinds of calls would be understanding of this and allow it to happen. Sheriff Stone not being Warburton would be a crime, it would hardly even worth bringing the character back if they didn't manage to get him to reprise for sure. I agree that the ending of the second season is pretty much perfect, and I would have believed it was the intended ending because it's so great. Mitch Watson suggests that the show would be taking a pretty big twist in returning to more of the style of the original, sounding more like a soft reboot appropriate for a rebooted world at the end, though when they get to the college part it does sound like things would go back to what we know of the show. Especially with them setting up a new Mr. E in that final scene. Seeing what they would do with balancing all of that seems fairly interesting, especially when it comes to the college setting part.
I'd say it doesn't even need to be considered a third season to work as its own series. Have it set in the same rebooted timeline universe from the end of the show, keep some of the continuity, if only the characters made for that series in their new versions, and do basically the same plot season 3 had, but under a sequel series mindset. That way it can get both a new audience that didn't catch MI, and fans of MI that wanted to see how the show followed up. Then again, that's all just semantics. Sequel series, new season, reboot. All terms can apply and be equally valid.
Something like bringing it back with a different subtitle to make it distinctive would definitely be something to consider if they wanted, especially if they made sure fans of the original obviously knew it was some sort of follow up. It sounds like the brand name recognition of the first two seasons is something they would probably want to hold onto though. Regardless, with as great as the first two seasons are, if this happens and people didn't like it, there's always the option to just ignore it the way some Young Justice fans do with the resuscitated seasons and treat it as its own thing all the same.

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a third season of mystery incorporated considering that it did combine elements from 13 ghost of scooby doo, the first four direct to video films and the first two live action movies. For instance one of the main villains has a direct connection to mystery Inc by blood. An element that came from the first live action movie. That said I can honestly see where they might go with a third season considering that season 2 wrapped up everything from in itself and season 1.
It's good to know that WB and CN eventually appreciated the series and are even willing to continue it in some form. I'd like to see that unmade season 3 arc, but it won't be the same without Harlan Ellison as the new Mr. E. Also, I hope that apology extends to Beware the Batman, another great Mitch Watson show that was treated even worse than Mystery Incorporated.
Mitch brings up Beware the Batman and how CN killed it for similar reasons in the interview, and from his disappointment it doesn't sound like anything on the inside has changed as far as appreciation goes unfortunately. I remember its brief run alongside the then-also-ill-fated Young Justice where it never got a fair shot, and it seems internally it's still been left to be forgotten for now.

Personally I don't this show back (I hate Fred in this version) I want either Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? back OR make the gang adults again and bring back Scrappy-Doo, Scooby-Dum, Yabba-Doo, and many of the other 70s characters!
Harlan Ellison's voice will have to be recreated by one of the top notch voice actors around....if the Ellison Estate approves of using his name, voice and likeness in further animated projects.
If a third season of SDMI does happen, I hope that more of Velma and Marcie’s relationship is shown and that the supporting cast still gets a lot of spotlight. What I personally want in a SDMI continuation is a prequel that focuses on the Original Mystery Inc (Pericles, Ricky, Cassidy, Brad and Judy) and how they were before The Freak forced them out of town.

I absolutely agree! I really want to see their relationship bloom. They confirmed that Velma is a lesbian and that her and Marcy are a couple at the end, but I want to see that! They deserve representation
My thing is that if this comes back in this style. Mindy Cohn needs to come out of retirement to voice Velma. Now don’t get me wrong I adore Kate Micucci in some of her Velma roles. But this Velma is very dry and sarcastic and Kates voice has never hit that register the way Mindy’s has, with her always sounding more soft and bookish like Velma from the early days. Plus this is the definitive 2010 cast and I can’t imagine any takeoff of the show without her. I’m still excited for what this new could hold though as it’s my favourite iteration of SD.
Exactly, this Velma is absolutely Mindy. She owns this particular incarnation of the character. I covered it briefly in the previous SDMI Velma video, but she only stepped away from the role to deal with her successful battle against cancer and when she got back she had already been replaced without being told. She still seems incredibly heartbroken about it to this day. I would love to see them make it right and bring her back if this ever happens.
@@Scoobytopia yeah that was such a sad thing to hear cause you could always tell she loved being Velma. Even to be point of putting a bit of herself in the role with her few bits of Jewish vernacular. And I’m so happy her battle was successful and her recovery is solid. And hopefully with these writers and directors back on the case they can convince higher ups to get the full cast back together. Also loved that SDMI video and always down for more content on that show. Maybe a look into the movie and cultural references embedded in the monster design since the writers are open about their love for niche stuff like Warhol Twin Peaks
Her take on this character will always be my personal favorite with how much love she always put into it and how perfectly fit she was. It's probably never going to sit right with me what happened to her unless they were to make it right somehow like with this kind of potential situation. I would always be down to make more videos about this show with it being my favorite incarnation itself, so this is almost definitely not the final time I'll ever touch on it!
This was definitely the scariest, anthological incarnation yet as it actually followed a plot line that was worth living for and the second season finale made it SO worth it to watch. It was heartbreaking that they killed off the show after season 2. If they bring back the show for a season 3 that’d be awesome!

Please let it happen WB, if Young Justice can get a revival on HBO MAX then so can Mystery Incorporated with a Season 3 or 4. Mystery Incorporated is my all time version Scooby Series and I wished CN didn't ruin it when it was on TV. If we do get a Season 3, maybe we can get some cameo or at least background easter eggs of characters from other shows that mimic the Scooby Doo show format aka Mystery solving teens and their mascot similar to the Season 1 episode ""Mystery Solvers Club State Finals" and the Season 2 episode "Heart of Evil" where it was more of legacy crossover episode but you get what I'm talking while I don't expect them to interact its more of a nod similar to the Ducktales 2019 where there nods to not just he original Ducktales series and comics but other shows that aired around the same time as it like Talespin, Rescue Rangers, and Darkwing Duck.
Having cameos like that would be great! Mitch Watson has said the Mystery Solvers State Finals episode is his personal favorite of the show, so I'm sure he would be down for that, and the next season was supposed to be more in line with the original as far as their adventures, so it would fit fine!
I'd really only get on board if all the voice actors from the original Mystery Inc seasons came back. Mindy Cohen is a mainstay and I agree that she needs to return but I'd also like to see Matthew Liliard return as well. I thought his voice honored Casey Kassam's but I never understood why they didn't continue with him. It would also be interesting if Linda Cardellini continued in some way as Hot Dog Water/Marcie...maybe as a support "know it all" to the gang back in Crystal Cove?
This show was the shit, no denying that. It captured all the original aspects of the original series and movies, but added it's own flare of story telling and overall creepy and haunting factors that made it different from other series. I absolutely love the idea of a 3rd season, but I only want a 3rd season if I know it has a chance of being just as good as seasons 1 and 2 were. It is better to leave a show's legacy intact with fans asking for more, than to continue it and upset it's fans ruining it's reputation it had before.
My brain misfired watching this, and randomly imagines an impossible Scooby/Phineas and Ferb crossover, where it turns out in the end, the haunting was all an accident, when Doof built a 'Ghost-inator' and accidentally left it running.
In the _entire history_ of the franchise, has there ever been a mystery involving the Mothman? Perhaps make a video with a list for monsters yet to be made in episodes?
I would love to see season 3 of Mystery Inc, but whether to make it a long story or make it classic, I don't know, but it would be nice if the animation style remained the same without any changes. And the sequel to this film from 2020 (or a prequel) I like this film, in my opinion it has its problems but it is very underrated and I would love to see a sequel that would be better and improve everything that was not perfect in the predecessor.
I am so glad there are other fans out there, I have pitched this to my friends groups since I found it and no one makes it past the first season because they don't believe the payoff is there but the back end of season 2 blew my flipping mind to this day!
The first episode I ever saw was during a vacation, with the fake gators in Gatorsburg, but couldn't get into it due to the fact that I was called to dinner and never made it past the opening credits. I did however find it again in college. I was a bit put off by the art style, as I grew up with the 'Where Are You' 1969 series and the 'What's New, Scooby Doo' series, but Mystery Incorporated grew on me because it reminded me of Scooby Doo on Zombie Island and had a creepier edge that I love! Plus, the storyline was nice, they introduced a different set of parents and a world that viewed them as outcasts. There was still the fake monsters that were people who spent WAY too much time on ridiculous revenge plots, but I LOVED how they put in an actual demon intent of devouring the world where reincarnations or mystery lovers try to solve the mystery that tied them together! Plus, it was nice they threw in teenage romance and made a sarcastic and skeptical Velma! To be honest, while I AM interested in a third season of where the gang goes to college with the new Mr. E in tow, but I am satisfied of how they left it in a perfect ending where fanfiction writers can tie it together with the original series, or add their own spontaneous flair to it! ^^
I recently added season two on dvd to my collection and it was really expensive. That very limited release is another example of how they didn't believe in the shows success. I really hope we do get third season. Thanks for the info.
I’m not sure about because I feel that season 2 finale was a believable and satisfying conclusion because they just beat the closest thing to the devil and you know shows like the Simpsons and SpongeBob who have going on after their movies and if they stay on too long, they become stale, I do like Sheriff Bronson Stone because he makes me laugh especially in the Alien episode. When it came out I loved it because it was spookyish to me and there was such a lore that just pulled me and yet it was complex but easy for me to understand, still love it to this day and it’s my favorite version of Scooby-Doo
Sounds really interesting. I'd love to see a third season, felt the ending to season 2 was a bit of a cop out and abrupt. A third one, especially with Scooby at University, would have been amazing or a third of them on the road and then a fourth at University, whatever. Mystery Incorporated deserved a return. It might be nice if they had an episode as well where the gang return back to Crystal Cove after the death of Shaggy's father as Colton Rogers was I believe Casey's last role before he passed away.
oh for the love of god PLEASE let there be another season. PLEASE. it was my childhood, ive watched the whole series at least 5 times god i would die for a 3rd season! my only worry would be that it doesnt have the same feel, especially if the voice acting was extremely different (yn, new people trying to make the character "their own" which is usually lovely but not what id personally want). season 1+2 left big shoes to fill so im worried it may be a slight disappointment but after all these years id be happy either way

I am from america and me and my sisters LOVED the show although I have not known about cartoon network just mutilating the schedule in america and the thing I remember at the time of it airing its second season boomerang had slowed down how much old scooby we were getting on good ol boob tube (referring to a television) but it might be a false memory or a coincidence.
this was my favorite scooby doo as it was actually somewhat scary. when i found ou they canceled i was upset cause it left off on a cliffhanger, so i hope hbo is able to revive it.
Looking back on this makes me more sad since if that Scoob special was released it could’ve lend us to another season of mystery incorporated but i still think there’s some hope seeing how the show is still popular/successful maybe the higher ups could see how popular it is still and greenlit a third season it’s wishful thinking but hey anything is possible
If they did bring back Mystery Inc , i'd have the gang on their way cross country, actually "remix" or re-interpet old stories from the 1966 run (cause the with MI Ending the old Crystal Cove Museum never existed, right?) And time in a Tv series is VERY Fluid.

The only thing I didn't like was the Velma shaggy relationship and they made Velma unlikable for me in the beginning (but she gets better) other than that I love the series. Be cool schooby doo was also pretty good I would love to see more of both series

Look I don't know if it's my lack of memory about the show when it comes to it first airing on cartoon Network. But I saw it during its first run I can't really remember about them messing with its time slot but I loved it when it was airing and when I saw it was on Netflix I rewatched it. Was a little sad that it ended yeah but it seemed like it had a nice wrap up but now to find out they did have plans for a third well it kind of sucks cuz I really liked it. And then they put on another Scooby-Doo right afterwards to replace it new one which was completely different.
Yeah, the final scene where Harlan Ellison shows up as a new Mr. E and introduces his university was the set up for the new storyline at the end we never got. It was vague enough that the cancellation didn't harm the ending of the show, but it's disappointing in retrospect to know that's what it was. And exciting to think it could be continued someday.

I'm so sad about the holiday haunt cancellation and hopeless about the Scooby Doo future. But about Mystery Inc... I would never imagine that this show wasn't popular in the US. Here in Brazil it was a big hit but unfortanely the show is not avalaible on our hbo max or netflix and I miss it so much
Yeah, last week this was a very likely possibility and Holiday Haunt was nearly complete with a crew very excited to show it off. This week, everything is different. Discovery doesn't seem to see value in the franchise and I wouldn't be surprised if it disappears under their watch as things stand. Dark times have swiftly taken over.
I really enjoyed the series, although it was a tad dark for me as a kid. One of my biggest gripes was how I never really knew when it was going to be on due to it constantly changing days, times, and coming on and off hiatus kinda randomly
If they were able to bring back the OG cast from the 70s in the early 00s for a couple of movies, I'm sure they could bring back Mindy as Velma for the revival.

I would absolutely LOVE to see another season of Mystery Incorporated!! Only thing I would be scared of is A. The lack of the supporting cast that we, as the audience, have grown to adore, and B. Who said returning cast will be replaced by. If a third season is renewed, I’m expecting for Cartoon Network to be more directly involved in it, meaning the company may push for decisions particularly regarding new characters that may not reflect the spirit of the first two seasons
Cartoon Network stopped being directly involved with the Scooby franchise after the failure of Be Cool, with the latest series Guess Who going to Boomerang for Season 1, and HBO Max airing Season 2 like they did Young Justice Season 4. (CN has briefly aired reruns, but that's it.) This means we likely wouldn't have to see any production involvement with CN for the third season of this if it happens, more likely HBO Max, and since it's a Warner Bros. Animation original like Young Justice and would be streaming instead of TV, that level of meddling and tampering would probably not happen. Young Justice on HBO Max has been pretty free to let the creators do what they wanted, and the upcoming Velma series has a TVMA adult rating which shows the tight grip that was on the Scooby franchise has been loosened at least a little. There's probably not quite as much to worry about when it comes to that at least!

I love the Harley Quinn show, so I'm very intrigued to see if Velma can reach the same heights. Hopefully it makes it to release considering HBO Max is potentially going to be killed off and Scooby projects are no longer a priority for Discovery after the cancelling of the new movie yesterday. I would hate for this to be a casualty though it seems like an easy target.

That’s an exciting possibility. Hopefully it happens. Considering how the ending implies that the entire series is just a prequel to Where are You, it could be fun to see some classic monsters reimagined but within the context of a grander narrative.
I also love the idea of a college setting, there’s so many possibilities for characters and plot lines there. I’d also be interested to see the whole different universes/timeline reset thing be explored.
I took it as being set between Where Are You and The Scooby Doo Show. We see that the gang have already encountered all the monsters from Where Are You as they appear in the museum. The Scooby Doo Show was the series where they seemed to travel across America more.

YES YES YES to everything. I would love for this show to comeback and totally agree on the voice casting for Velma. This series is everything, the mysteries, the style, the developed relationships, Daphne and Fred are at their best in this series and the following movie era, I just love it all. Plus there's no reason not to have actual paranormal characters
scooby doo did not have actual paranormal charachters after this show ended unforttunatly. even some follow ups of 13 ghost and the new zombie island one retconned the idea that the previous show 13 ghost and schooby doo on zombie island had real monsters unfortunatly. wich to me was really stupid. the few movies and shows that had real monsters where some of the best incarnations in my opions.

While it's great to hear of the possibility of a third season, I feel a little conflicted about it. I thought the ending was a good sendoff to the show with everything already wrapped up before the finale. If I was younger, I definitely would've wanted the show to continue, but looking back, I'm kinda glad Mystery Incorporated went out like Gravity Falls, going out on their own terms instead of being canceled by the network and having everything resolved within the span of two seasons no less!

@Max x Roxanne 4ever Yeah but she just doesn't work with MI Velma. MI Velma IS Mindy. There's no ifs ands or buts about it. That Velma is one that rightly needs to be played by Mindy. No other VA can take that version of Velma and fit well with it.

If you an't see the personality changes after Kate was brought on(Her name's Kate, not Katie), you must be really inept when it comes to finding personality changes in reincarnations of long existing characters
I would definitely love to see this show return for a third season! Back then, I didn't get much of a chance to watch it on Cartoon Network, but years later, back in 2019, I watched the entire series and loved it. The character development, darker tone, and story arcs were amazing! I really hope this show does come back. I really want to see more! :)
Anyone who doesn't "see any value in the Scooby franchise" should be banned from running a studio/film company, as the franchise must have been quite lucrative, seeing how many Scooby films/shows we've had over the years.
This is a tough one. On the one hand, MI is the greatest of all the Scooby revival series, a personal favorite of mine with Pup coming in a close second, and I'd love to see more episodes of that sort of Scooby. On the other hand, while I understand they had plans for another season back when the show was in production, and it is a pretty solid concept, the ending of the series was perfection. The whole series arc is that there's a dark cloud hanging over the crew that gave things an ominous and serious weight behind them, but that was resolved in the last episodes. The series ends off in an alternate timeline where things are brighter, happier, Mr. E and co were their best selves, and they even end off with a 60's style laugh track, obviously suggesting the new timeline is the old series. While I would have faith in the writers to do justice to that tonal shift, I don't know if they'd be able to keep what made that show work best under said tonal shift. Also, yeah... Mindy should return as that universe's/timeline's Velma. I personally think she's the best Velma since the original, but I'm a big fan of Kate since her days as the ukulele playing dork from Scrubs and the same basic character in Raising Hope. I've been having a moral quandary of "don't make me choose" since the recast. But for consistency's sake, Mindy should totally return. I mean, they go back and forth with Bugs Bunny from show to show (switching from Eric Bauza and Jeff Bergman depending). Though I'll be very disappointed if they bring back that Sheriff for the Scoob Christmas movie and he's NOT Patrick Warburton. Unless they give Brock Baker a call. He does him pretty dead on.
Yeah, I love Kate in everything else I've ever seen her in, and her Velma is something I appreciate more every time I hear it, but her take on the character is completely different from Mindy's, who pretty much owns this incarnation. I would hope Kate and whoever makes those kinds of calls would be understanding of this and allow it to happen. Sheriff Stone not being Warburton would be a crime, it would hardly even worth bringing the character back if they didn't manage to get him to reprise for sure.
I agree that the ending of the second season is pretty much perfect, and I would have believed it was the intended ending because it's so great. Mitch Watson suggests that the show would be taking a pretty big twist in returning to more of the style of the original, sounding more like a soft reboot appropriate for a rebooted world at the end, though when they get to the college part it does sound like things would go back to what we know of the show. Especially with them setting up a new Mr. E in that final scene. Seeing what they would do with balancing all of that seems fairly interesting, especially when it comes to the college setting part.
I'd say it doesn't even need to be considered a third season to work as its own series. Have it set in the same rebooted timeline universe from the end of the show, keep some of the continuity, if only the characters made for that series in their new versions, and do basically the same plot season 3 had, but under a sequel series mindset. That way it can get both a new audience that didn't catch MI, and fans of MI that wanted to see how the show followed up. Then again, that's all just semantics. Sequel series, new season, reboot. All terms can apply and be equally valid.
Something like bringing it back with a different subtitle to make it distinctive would definitely be something to consider if they wanted, especially if they made sure fans of the original obviously knew it was some sort of follow up. It sounds like the brand name recognition of the first two seasons is something they would probably want to hold onto though. Regardless, with as great as the first two seasons are, if this happens and people didn't like it, there's always the option to just ignore it the way some Young Justice fans do with the resuscitated seasons and treat it as its own thing all the same.

SCMI was the best series in the Scooby Doo franchise ever! I hope they can make a 3rd season!
I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a third season of mystery incorporated considering that it did combine elements from 13 ghost of scooby doo, the first four direct to video films and the first two live action movies.
For instance one of the main villains has a direct connection to mystery Inc by blood. An element that came from the first live action movie.
That said I can honestly see where they might go with a third season considering that season 2 wrapped up everything from in itself and season 1.
It's good to know that WB and CN eventually appreciated the series and are even willing to continue it in some form. I'd like to see that unmade season 3 arc, but it won't be the same without Harlan Ellison as the new Mr. E. Also, I hope that apology extends to Beware the Batman, another great Mitch Watson show that was treated even worse than Mystery Incorporated.
Mitch brings up Beware the Batman and how CN killed it for similar reasons in the interview, and from his disappointment it doesn't sound like anything on the inside has changed as far as appreciation goes unfortunately. I remember its brief run alongside the then-also-ill-fated Young Justice where it never got a fair shot, and it seems internally it's still been left to be forgotten for now.

Personally I don't this show back (I hate Fred in this version) I want either Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? back OR make the gang adults again and bring back Scrappy-Doo, Scooby-Dum, Yabba-Doo, and many of the other 70s characters!

If a third season of SDMI does happen, I hope that more of Velma and Marcie’s relationship is shown and that the supporting cast still gets a lot of spotlight. What I personally want in a SDMI continuation is a prequel that focuses on the Original Mystery Inc (Pericles, Ricky, Cassidy, Brad and Judy) and how they were before The Freak forced them out of town.

I absolutely agree! I really want to see their relationship bloom. They confirmed that Velma is a lesbian and that her and Marcy are a couple at the end, but I want to see that! They deserve representation

My thing is that if this comes back in this style. Mindy Cohn needs to come out of retirement to voice Velma. Now don’t get me wrong I adore Kate Micucci in some of her Velma roles. But this Velma is very dry and sarcastic and Kates voice has never hit that register the way Mindy’s has, with her always sounding more soft and bookish like Velma from the early days. Plus this is the definitive 2010 cast and I can’t imagine any takeoff of the show without her. I’m still excited for what this new could hold though as it’s my favourite iteration of SD.
Exactly, this Velma is absolutely Mindy. She owns this particular incarnation of the character. I covered it briefly in the previous SDMI Velma video, but she only stepped away from the role to deal with her successful battle against cancer and when she got back she had already been replaced without being told. She still seems incredibly heartbroken about it to this day. I would love to see them make it right and bring her back if this ever happens.
@@Scoobytopia yeah that was such a sad thing to hear cause you could always tell she loved being Velma. Even to be point of putting a bit of herself in the role with her few bits of Jewish vernacular. And I’m so happy her battle was successful and her recovery is solid. And hopefully with these writers and directors back on the case they can convince higher ups to get the full cast back together. Also loved that SDMI video and always down for more content on that show. Maybe a look into the movie and cultural references embedded in the monster design since the writers are open about their love for niche stuff like Warhol Twin Peaks
Her take on this character will always be my personal favorite with how much love she always put into it and how perfectly fit she was. It's probably never going to sit right with me what happened to her unless they were to make it right somehow like with this kind of potential situation. I would always be down to make more videos about this show with it being my favorite incarnation itself, so this is almost definitely not the final time I'll ever touch on it!
This was definitely the scariest, anthological incarnation yet as it actually followed a plot line that was worth living for and the second season finale made it SO worth it to watch. It was heartbreaking that they killed off the show after season 2. If they bring back the show for a season 3 that’d be awesome!

Please let it happen WB, if Young Justice can get a revival on HBO MAX then so can Mystery Incorporated with a Season 3 or 4. Mystery Incorporated is my all time version Scooby Series and I wished CN didn't ruin it when it was on TV.
If we do get a Season 3, maybe we can get some cameo or at least background easter eggs of characters from other shows that mimic the Scooby Doo show format aka Mystery solving teens and their mascot similar to the Season 1 episode ""Mystery Solvers Club State Finals" and the Season 2 episode "Heart of Evil" where it was more of legacy crossover episode but you get what I'm talking while I don't expect them to interact its more of a nod similar to the Ducktales 2019 where there nods to not just he original Ducktales series and comics but other shows that aired around the same time as it like Talespin, Rescue Rangers, and Darkwing Duck.
Having cameos like that would be great! Mitch Watson has said the Mystery Solvers State Finals episode is his personal favorite of the show, so I'm sure he would be down for that, and the next season was supposed to be more in line with the original as far as their adventures, so it would fit fine!

I'd really only get on board if all the voice actors from the original Mystery Inc seasons came back. Mindy Cohen is a mainstay and I agree that she needs to return but I'd also like to see Matthew Liliard return as well. I thought his voice honored Casey Kassam's but I never understood why they didn't continue with him. It would also be interesting if Linda Cardellini continued in some way as Hot Dog Water/Marcie...maybe as a support "know it all" to the gang back in Crystal Cove?

This show was the shit, no denying that. It captured all the original aspects of the original series and movies, but added it's own flare of story telling and overall creepy and haunting factors that made it different from other series. I absolutely love the idea of a 3rd season, but I only want a 3rd season if I know it has a chance of being just as good as seasons 1 and 2 were. It is better to leave a show's legacy intact with fans asking for more, than to continue it and upset it's fans ruining it's reputation it had before.

My brain misfired watching this, and randomly imagines an impossible Scooby/Phineas and Ferb crossover, where it turns out in the end, the haunting was all an accident, when Doof built a 'Ghost-inator' and accidentally left it running.
With Phineas and Ferb coming back for another season and Warner Bros on fire maybe we can convince them to make this reality soon

I would love to see season 3 of Mystery Inc, but whether to make it a long story or make it classic, I don't know, but it would be nice if the animation style remained the same without any changes. And the sequel to this film from 2020 (or a prequel) I like this film, in my opinion it has its problems but it is very underrated and I would love to see a sequel that would be better and improve everything that was not perfect in the predecessor.
I am so glad there are other fans out there, I have pitched this to my friends groups since I found it and no one makes it past the first season because they don't believe the payoff is there but the back end of season 2 blew my flipping mind to this day!
I watched Mystery Incorporated during quarantine and it gave me so much joy - probably my favorite Scooby series. I'd love for it to get picked up!
The first episode I ever saw was during a vacation, with the fake gators in Gatorsburg, but couldn't get into it due to the fact that I was called to dinner and never made it past the opening credits. I did however find it again in college. I was a bit put off by the art style, as I grew up with the 'Where Are You' 1969 series and the 'What's New, Scooby Doo' series, but Mystery Incorporated grew on me because it reminded me of Scooby Doo on Zombie Island and had a creepier edge that I love! Plus, the storyline was nice, they introduced a different set of parents and a world that viewed them as outcasts. There was still the fake monsters that were people who spent WAY too much time on ridiculous revenge plots, but I LOVED how they put in an actual demon intent of devouring the world where reincarnations or mystery lovers try to solve the mystery that tied them together! Plus, it was nice they threw in teenage romance and made a sarcastic and skeptical Velma! To be honest, while I AM interested in a third season of where the gang goes to college with the new Mr. E in tow, but I am satisfied of how they left it in a perfect ending where fanfiction writers can tie it together with the original series, or add their own spontaneous flair to it! ^^
I recently added season two on dvd to my collection and it was really expensive. That very limited release is another example of how they didn't believe in the shows success. I really hope we do get third season. Thanks for the info.

I’m not sure about because I feel that season 2 finale was a believable and satisfying conclusion because they just beat the closest thing to the devil and you know shows like the Simpsons and SpongeBob who have going on after their movies and if they stay on too long, they become stale, I do like Sheriff Bronson Stone because he makes me laugh especially in the Alien episode.

When it came out I loved it because it was spookyish to me and there was such a lore that just pulled me and yet it was complex but easy for me to understand, still love it to this day and it’s my favorite version of Scooby-Doo
Sounds really interesting. I'd love to see a third season, felt the ending to season 2 was a bit of a cop out and abrupt. A third one, especially with Scooby at University, would have been amazing or a third of them on the road and then a fourth at University, whatever. Mystery Incorporated deserved a return. It might be nice if they had an episode as well where the gang return back to Crystal Cove after the death of Shaggy's father as Colton Rogers was I believe Casey's last role before he passed away.

PLEASE. it was my childhood, ive watched the whole series at least 5 times god i would die for a 3rd season! my only worry would be that it doesnt have the same feel, especially if the voice acting was extremely different (yn, new people trying to make the character "their own" which is usually lovely but not what id personally want). season 1+2 left big shoes to fill so im worried it may be a slight disappointment but after all these years id be happy either way

I am from america and me and my sisters LOVED the show although I have not known about cartoon network just mutilating the schedule in america and the thing I remember at the time of it airing its second season boomerang had slowed down how much old scooby we were getting on good ol boob tube (referring to a television) but it might be a false memory or a coincidence.
this was my favorite scooby doo as it was actually somewhat scary. when i found ou they canceled i was upset cause it left off on a cliffhanger, so i hope hbo is able to revive it.

I LOVE Mystery Inc. it was one of my all time favorite shows. I was devastated at the cliffhanger they left us on with canceling the show’s renewal.
I loved this when it was on tv but I couldn't watch past the reveal of the freak of crystal cove being unmasked, thank God for netflix.
Looking back on this makes me more sad since if that Scoob special was released it could’ve lend us to another season of mystery incorporated but i still think there’s some hope seeing how the show is still popular/successful maybe the higher ups could see how popular it is still and greenlit a third season it’s wishful thinking but hey anything is possible

The only thing I didn't like was the Velma shaggy relationship and they made Velma unlikable for me in the beginning (but she gets better) other than that I love the series. Be cool schooby doo was also pretty good I would love to see more of both series

Look I don't know if it's my lack of memory about the show when it comes to it first airing on cartoon Network. But I saw it during its first run I can't really remember about them messing with its time slot but I loved it when it was airing and when I saw it was on Netflix I rewatched it. Was a little sad that it ended yeah but it seemed like it had a nice wrap up but now to find out they did have plans for a third well it kind of sucks cuz I really liked it. And then they put on another Scooby-Doo right afterwards to replace it new one which was completely different.
Yeah, the final scene where Harlan Ellison shows up as a new Mr. E and introduces his university was the set up for the new storyline at the end we never got. It was vague enough that the cancellation didn't harm the ending of the show, but it's disappointing in retrospect to know that's what it was. And exciting to think it could be continued someday.
@@Scoobytopia yeah I forget the name of that new Scooby-Doo that came on after it but the ending of mystery Incorporated felt like it was wrapped up but as you put in your video did seem like they could have did a third season maybe or the third season would have been considered a different show title wise but it would have still been connected at least that's how I have always saw it and it's good to know that if they did bring back for a third it wouldn't be like them just pulling it out of nowhere that they already had it set up
I would be thrilled beyond words of the series came back because even though I grew up with the original, this one is so much better because of the over arching storyline in addition to the weekly storylines

Had no idea about the reason behind the show's cancellation/non-renewable. So interesting! Would love to see a return to the show like the one we got with Young Justice, another classic.
That would be amazing but with all that's going around at warner right now I don't know if something like that could happen. I'm so sad about the holiday haunt cancellation and hopeless about the Scooby Doo future. But about Mystery Inc... I would never imagine that this show wasn't popular in the US. Here in Brazil it was a big hit but unfortanely the show is not avalaible on our hbo max or netflix and I miss it so much
Yeah, last week this was a very likely possibility and Holiday Haunt was nearly complete with a crew very excited to show it off. This week, everything is different. Discovery doesn't seem to see value in the franchise and I wouldn't be surprised if it disappears under their watch as things stand. Dark times have swiftly taken over.

This was my favorite show
I really enjoyed the series, although it was a tad dark for me as a kid. One of my biggest gripes was how I never really knew when it was going to be on due to it constantly changing days, times, and coming on and off hiatus kinda randomly
If they were able to bring back the OG cast from the 70s in the early 00s for a couple of movies, I'm sure they could bring back Mindy as Velma for the revival.
So THATS why I thought it was coming back, but now it’s not….. owww… I miss it so much.
