My dad ‘s ancestors come from Sicily, The surname is Stagno and I would like to find something about the Stagno ancestry. I think either they come from Genova or maybe anywhere else. Dad’s name was Joseph Stagno . We live in Malta . Please can you help me find something about the Stagno ancestors.?
My dad's father came from Sicily & I know he was born in Messina but apart from that we know nothing about any of our Sicilian family ancestors. My Grandfather's name was Vincenzo Mare & as a young man in his 20's he traveled the world, he arrived in the capital of New Zealand around 1929 when he would have been aged 27 as he was born in 1902. My Grandfather was a Cabinet-Maker, (A Master of Woodwork), who made Piano's, Guitars, Violin's, Furniture & much more until his death in 1982 here in NZ. [He had to have learnt his trade from somewhere so my family would be very interested in finding out anything about his family roots.] If anyone reads this & has any advice or ideas it would be so appreciated. Thank you -Ms. A.C.Mare' (I am aware that our surname "Mare" means "Sea" in English.)
Francesco was of great help to me!
