These are the same issues from last season. I don't remember who exactly, but I think it was Kurt Warner and The Football Scout who broke down the routes, and it was essentially the same thing - run down the field and turn around. I thought Ravens struggled with TEs getting behind the LBs from their first two games, and it didn't look like there were a lot of cross routes in the middle of the field. Also, if the O-line is struggling, calling for long developing routes is a terrible call/game plan. Give me slants, motions, stacks, meshes. Terrible on both sides of the ball.
Both Kurt Warner and The QB School(another former NFL QB; played under McCarthy for a min) were salty AF about McCarthy's offense last year

The real issue was McCarthy fixed it and used motion last year. And our offense was again one of the best. He's reverted for no reason.

I think Dak not being that mobile anymore is really looked over…he’s basically a pocket passer at this point and his clutch scrambles is what made him good when he came into in the league. Now defenses no longer need to spy, or even worry about that threat at all
Eh he can still get out the pocket when needed but every mobile qb eventually transitions into a pocket passer can’t run And take all those hits consistent forever and still be effective

On that last play...Tolbert won at the line and was open on the slant. Obviously he wasn't the first read and Dak didn't have time for a 2nd.

Jerry says “we are set at running back.” Cowboys don’t move to get Derrick Henry during the offseason. Week 3 Cowboys vs Ravens. Derrick Henry 25 carries for 151 yards. The Cowboys are done.
Not getting a RB is bad. But I don't think Henry would do well here. Our O line is not blocking well. But our blocking scheme is even worse. You have two rookie O linemen, why are they making it so complicated. Also this is an organization and coaching issue. Why is someone always missing an assignment it feels like.

This is the pre bye offense from last year. And then when they finally opened it up (after SF kicked their teeth in), Dak was instantly an all pro and they were a top 3 offense again.

TG needs help and they continue to just leave him on an Island. IDC if its Zeke Ferguson or anyone else someone should be in pass protection. We're definitely not doing ourselves any favors with the play calling but the routes aint helping anyone get open or get separation. I'd really like to see some more variety from the pass protection to the play calling to run scheme. I want to see Flournoy and Im getting to the point where I just want them to throw Stevens out there have him split wide and just start hoping. Hopefully Cook next week Im over Dowdle and that ljttle dwarf at this point. I'd be over Zeke but he can actually pass block.

Okay. You are not even focusing your thoughts. Lunehan was never good anywhere. Two Moore was a young OC. But he didn't scheme guys open. You could see route designs that weren't complicated. McCarthy fixed his issues last year and what do you know our players started playing well. This video shows you the problem.

I did some research on Mike Solari, the O-line coach. It seems every team he goes to, the O-line regresses in pass blocking. So, the Cowboys decide this is going to be a passing team yet they hire a coach whose 0-lines suck at pass blocking.. You can't make this stuff up. This front office is nothing more than a clown show. It looks like they're setting things up so they can let McCarthy go and throw a ton of money at Bill (nothing without Brady) Belichik. Another old guy that the game has passed by.
I think anyone who's tuned in knew this already. His pass blocking sets up like they are run blocking. It's clear his scheme is not a fit for the players.

You don't have the first clue how progressions work. You just look at the entire field from a camera, see a guy open for a split second, and throw your hands up in air b/c you can't understand how plays work. This cannot be news to you, but if it is, you will no doubt be shocked to know that QB's are not capable of seeing the entire field and every receiver simultaneously.
Not only that, but he didn't even have time to make a second read before his protection broke down and he had to tuck the ball to avoid a fumble.

You're basically saying Dak has no responsibility to recognize the defense and speed up his reads. The $60 million man STILL struggles against zone coverage.
That first play he should've read Roquan working towards Ferguson and known that would leave space for Cooks.
Second play the same thing. He knows those outside routes are done when the corners are playing underneath with safeties over the top. Recognize that and get to the TE in the middle.
Third play he's got Tolbert open. Hate it if you want, dude won his match up. You say the line was struggling but that play is just Dak's poor pocket awareness. He steps into the pressure.
Last play is more poor pocket awareness, stepping into the pressure. Tolbert won again and Dak, again, didn't make a decision quick enough.
