I became a Sky owner December 2020 and your channel is my new Netflix! Already did the LED headlights and switchback turn signals. Your videos make it so much easier!
Love this ❤️ I'm so excited to build my Sky. Right now she's in the shop getting a new rear spindle and some other things done. Thanks for the awesome video!
9:29 awesome numbers, it's very strange to compare this power/torque graph compared to the dynos on the Red Line model, which have this really flat, unwavering curve. I'm not an expert on this type of thing, so I'd actually really like to know why it's so "janky" (for lack of a better term) compared to the 2.0?
Lol @5:04, "work you way up to 4th gear and hold it there at about 1500 horsepower." Either that's a funny word slip or you've got some real magic under the hood, Mike. ;) (Just messing, it made me chuckle though.)
2:40 Is there a limit to the horsepower they will allow on that portable dyno? I think that is great, I have never seen anything like this before. I wish we had something like this locally that wasn't hundreds of dollars just to get a number.
I don't think there's a limit. I've seen him Dyno some pretty strong cars at cars and coffee. And yes, it's cool that he's pretty inexpensive and goes all over the place.
Once again nice work Mike. You mentioned a Canadian guy did your tune. Can you let me know who he was pls. I also thought you had done a tune with Martin Scott from RPM? Thanks again Mike.
@@MikesHouseOfMods oh ok I have a 2.4 solstice with around 150k I want to supercharge but kind of scared of the high mileage. I did have a compression check done and they told me there was no issues and the engine was strong and healthy.
@@trell1011 Yeah. I had some slight concerns with the 109,000 miles, but everyone said if it has no issues, it will be fine. And you're correct about the forged internals. The only thing I want to do is change the timing chain and guides as well as get new head bolts. Ok nice those are done, I should be able to hit 13-14 psi boost.

Good ol Columbia Tennessee. Loved that place when I lived there.

I love seeing this sky built, it's basically every mod id wanna do, pls keep going, i'd love to see a 2.4 just sleep the hell out of a 2.0
wow blown away how the 2.4l turbo sounds really clean.
Thanks. The sound of the turbo spooling up and the blow off valve changing gears is music to me.
Man! It's been too long since I watched your vids! I didn't know you went turbo!
Mike,
Do you have a rough idea as to what it would cost to have a speed shop add the turbo?
Finally so excited rock on

Lol. I didn't notice that I did that. Word slip. My bad. Thanks for watching and letting me know. 1500 HP would be pretty amazing though :)

Do you know what turbo you put in? I’m putting a precision 5831 into my redline next week.
Dammnnn Mike..... not too shaby .
1500whp on a 2.4 Sky? That’s amazing!
I see the 1/4 mile time of the turbo Sky guys are unreal. Did you do a timed run with yours along the way.
I wanna know too

Definitely going to be a lot quicker and faster than the NA.
Absolutely. It was fun to drive before, but now it's a blast.
What turbo kit did you get for your sky
It's not a kit. A local guy built it custom for his 2.4 Solstice. He then did an LS swap so I bought all of his turbo stuff from him.
Mike, I can't remember are you running a performance exhaust and high flow catalytic converter?
No. I installed a Redline exhaust and catless downpipe.
You've got to do some 0-60 runs Mike.
@TwinTurbo Ray What can I say, I like metrics. And Mike's in a unique position to get some numbers from a custom build.
Are these cars reliable? Parts easy to find?
Yes and no, no and yes
How many miles on your car?
About 109,000

I know on the 06 with the forged rods I can take a bit more boost. Plus I believe the 2.4s have oil squirter on the piston.

Keep at it i would love to see our engines fully built.
Dings are too loud
Everyone so disappointed with how slow the car is 😂😂
Out of the box new a red line with a GM 19 dollar upgrade map sensor 300 horses . They are fast.
