Pamela Castillo yeah, I liked CassieJP’s final depiction of her in the art at the beginning of the book felt more realistic. I thought Sona was her step mum at first!

so, love the book (all of her series are great), but like these trailers could be so much better. I watch them back sometimes and I cringe...so hard. Simon has to be a big publishing company so they should make the budget on these a little bigger. I hate to see these compared the the art that the books are.

Also the blatant white washing. I was so surprised to find out she had dark skin because every depiction I've seen of cordelia is white with ethnic features
I know! The canary I see where she is depicted with true Persian traits makes her sooo beautiful. We need a woman of color to be the protagonist!
@@annahuff9262 Cordelia was originally Caucasian, that’s why some early Casandra Jean drawings of her were white, but that changed.

very few be aware that Cortana, Cordelia Carstairs' sword, came out on the Shadowhunters series, in the "original sin" scene in season four.
At first I thought that the orchestra was playing the Pokémon Trailer Theme song. You know, the one they started using since Kahlos.
By the way, I did like the idea you had for this, and I know that not too many people watch book trailers, but it seems like you had this idea and were not given enough budget to make it as cinematic as it could have been. You know, a party, but with very few people. A mansion, but no paintings on the wall. And the camera is a bit still, and does not convey the "I am confident and waiting for the best time to act" vibe that Cordelia would have in a moment like this.
Why is that? I mean, it's a Shadowhunters book and it will sell a lot anyways, but that's only makes the trailer function more as hype than anything else. Fans love the hype! And well, the only way to make people pay attention to book trailers is to make them as awesome as you can. I would love to see a video of the photoshoot of the cover, though. Do you guys have one? It might be my favourite so far!
I agree, like the costumes were a little eh. Maybe they would be better if they tried not to do something so elaborate. Something with just cordelia and cortana would have been cool. It looked like she just whipped a weapon out at a party.
