(WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go ary. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. BypassingZ, my brother is a Table Tennis player, one of its danger is when you get ankle breaked, but in a hard way that is strong enough to severely damage your bone.

I am 14 and a high school football qb, so football is my life. But it is a mother choice to let them play or not. Injuries happen, that is a risk that I and millions of players take. Some people don't want to risk it with their kids, that is their choice.

I’ve played football for 12 years of my life so far now. I’m a senior in high school and my team and I won two state titles in the past three years, uncluding this year. I was the leading rusher for my team, and I decided to play ball in college soon too. I have only gotten seriously injured my junior year with a Grade 3 A.C. Joint Seperation in my left shoulder. But I’m completely healthy now. Life comes with risks, so take them and enjoy life to the fullest.

This was an exact scenario for me when I first got into high school. I had been telling my mom since middle school that when I finally got to 9th grade I wanted to play football and she always said yes so it only brought my hopes up and all the convos with my friends about how we'd join and practice together all went down the drain when my freshman year finally came around. She flat out said no when the time came and I've never cried so hard and so much in my life. It was a love and passion of mine that was snatched away after having been told that I can play. I am 24 now and it is still one of my biggest regrets ever and I'll never forgive my mom for that. Her fear was I would get hurt, but yet I faced way more horrible injuries in my life and I have never even played any sports. She would always say I can play soccer because that's what she liked but I was horrible at soccer and had no interest at all.
I was actually great at football and the coaches would ask me every year to try out after they saw how good I was when we would play football during P.E. It was just one let down after another every single year. My life would've been so much better had I played. I haven't had any male role models since I was an only child being raised by a single mom so I really needed that male input in my life. Maybe I could've gone to college or had more friends after graduating by building those life long relationships that are built by teamwork. Long story short I regret it till this day and will never forgive my mom for taking that opportunity away from me after all the times she promised me I could play. If you're a parent in this situation...let em play. Imagine all the regrets you have now as an adult. Do you want your kid to feel that way too? They can get hurt anywhere and anytime, don't let that be your excuse...and hey you never know, they might not even like it! I hope this helps someone. Also don't get your kids hopes up if you plan on crushing them later, they'll never forget it if it's something they truly are passionate about or want.

I wrestled. My mom was worried about the health and injuries. My mom let me do wrestling and if I didn't like it, I didn't have to do it. I have an 8 month old son, if he wanted to play football I'd let him. Of course I want him to be safe, I don't want him to get hurt. But if that's what he really wants, I'll be in the bleachers with a huge sign supporting him.

if my son wanted to do football, i honestly wouldn't let him. i would tell him that it's too risky and dangerous, (i would tell him the risks of it) i would list a bunch of different sports he could play. like lacrosse, soccer, baseball, etc. i would definitely care about my sons life.

I play football in college and I honestly think people should stop thinking like this be realistic who would want to play lacrosse a sport that no one cares about I think he should at least try out every sport and which ever one he is best at he should continue to play because you don’t know he could be really good at it and maybe even get payed to go to college for it or any sport he decides

Trust me it’s not fun to get nailed in the face with a baseball. I’ve never played lacrosse or soccer but from my friends they are both taxing sports and you could easily get hurt in either of them

My nephew grew up playing Soccer, played throughout HS and College and got drafted into the MLS. He had a good run but hurt his leg later in his carreer, had surgery, healed and returned to the field to win the MLS Cup with Toronto in 2017. He had a successful career and retired after 14 years but remains working with Toronto training others, etc. I believe that If they are born athletes they should pursue what they love to do and we should hope for the best and encourage them and support them as much as possible.

Even though soccer related accidents are much more fucked up to withstand considering you have less protective gear and a higher chance to get into near-death repercussions.
I'm a high functioning partial quadriplegic with a moderate traumatic brain injury. Some of the damage comes from athletics, that was compounded by other accidents. Even with my experience, I let my kids participate in whatever activity they desired. BUT I made damned sure everything that can be done to reduce the risks was done. Appropriate gear, solid knowledge about the risks, how to mitigate them, and what to do if things do go wrong. Additional, I make sure precautions were enacted.
We teach our kids to cross street safely, and make sure safety precautions are used like crossing guards. The same diligence is needed. I wouldn't let the kids play on various teams because I didn't feel comfortable with how safety was approached. I understand the other teams they would play may not practical the diligence I expect, but that is a risk that we all take in daily life.
You could fall through a deck where is was unknown the wood was rotted, or be hit by a malfunctioning railroad crossing arm, both of which happened to me. Yet if I didn't have the previous damage, my outcome would have been better. I've been in rehab since '99, and will be for the rest of my life, but I will play wheelchair rugby (AKA murder ball) and do the Seattle to Portland bicycle event again, just being diligent about safety. Be safe and have fun!

Kudos to the last mom for not wanting her child to be sheltered. So many parents now have this babying mentality (my mom included) and decide to shelter their kids which only keeps them from succeeding. Her son is gonna grow up to be a smart man, I can tell :D

I worried about my son, but he played flag then tackle. Of course every single sport is dangerous. Football is very dangerous, but football teaches more than just sports. It teaches team work, discipline, and athletics. My son LOVES it and he’s actually really really good at it. He’s my son and I make the choices just like this mom.

I don't know about staying out of drugs, most of the kids I went to school with, the ones trying to get sports scholarships were always taking these "bulk up" pills that they got from the guy who ran the gym near our school.
It'll defiantly keep away from some drugs but not others.
While I agree sports are very needed for young development, not sure if rugby is the sport I'd want my kids to be playing, it was banned from primary schools here because of how injured the kids would get.

At the two high schools I went to there was this heavy pressure for football player to fit into this partier stereotype. All of my brothers team mates (other than a couple who didn't hang out with team mates outside of practice) were into drugs and heavy drinking. When I say drugs I mean party drugs. Some just smoked pot, which really isn't too bad until you see how often they were high because they wanted to look cool, but there were much harder drugs being passed around.

I have a 7yo boy. And he decides to pick a sport, best way to protect him is to try me best to be on his practices. Observe the coach as closely as possible to learn the sport myself. Will try to remind him all the good thing his coach teaches.
I understand that this might probably impossible to most parents, but I'll do my best to do it. I grew up not playing sports that much, and I want my son to experience what I didnt, especially if he feel or likes to do it.

So I do Jiujitsu and I did a competition. It was my first one and I really wanted to win. I had been training and felt ready. Competition day came around ad long story short, I got my ass beat. I was so upset then my coach came up to me and grabbed my shoulders, looked me dead in the eyes and said to me “In order to win, you have to lose first”. I’ve never forgotten that and I have both won and lost competitions since then.

My brother played football when he was 9 now he's 10.He didn't get any concussion or other head injuries because his helmet had soft foam in them to protect the head from that type of injury.

This is actually the same situation for me but i'm a girl who wants to play volley ball but my mom disapproves because of my terrible eye sight since then my very high grades became low all my tests than 50/50 now 30/50, 40/59,20/50... my other grades 99 lowering to 80 , 70 , until 50 i've been going in depression for a month...I just commented this to share what i've experience in my life about sports i've been a 5yr soccer player and 3yr karate player my accomplishment in my life is t be a master in 3 different sports in my life...but i failed i guess...my life has been kinda shit now since my dad is gone forever......

tbh, I like these. I like the ones where it's not very one sided. There isnt an obvious "bad guy" in this one or a "correct answer".

Sweet Ambitions I wouldn’t really say it’s a real mans sport but I guess they say that because mostly you see big mans play in the field injuring small guys, and im small so I’m trying to be alright. So far nothing happen to me yet
