    Got mine today. Greatness at affordable price. I couldnt believe how good my songs sound now. Neumann did something incredible. Tight sound, very detailed, very precise, not fatiguing, also these are very very fast, can handle metalcore with no problem. This is kinda Neumann's sound signiture. I love it.

      Good call - I think at the new price they are a steal. Enjoy - I'm slightly jealous I had to send my review pair back!

      i'm still deciding whether to keep this. Somehow my b&o h6 1st gen beats all the new headphones I bought...X2, HD6xx, Sundara. I'm using modi3+magni hersey stack. Coming soon is Asgard3+Modius stack, hopefully will make me like other cans more than my h6. go blue.

      @@yicheng1991h6 are great. Interesting you say they’re better than hd6xx... I have both and I’d say they are two different types of headphones where the 6xx is open and 300 ohms so their performance depends to your amp. I say with a $1000 amp, the 6xx easily beats the h6

    Regardless of what Neumann says, these are great for music listening. I also own a pair of HD820s, and while they sound amazing if you like the HD8XX sound signature (I do), the NDH 20s are my new king of the closed-back hill.

      Hi Alfredo - I agree that the NDH20's are great cans, full stop. For those of us who don't have access to HD820s - what do you think are the differences? I'm particularly interested in the comparison between bass response? Ta.

      Ppm6.tv suggested I should ask you re comfort or lack thereof of the neumanns.
      Could you please inform of your usage and how much if at all discomfort did you experience?

    Hi there nice review.
    Other reports seem to be conflicting with regards the comfort of the Neumanns.
    Could you please inform/ elaborate of/on what was the maximum length of time you kept them on without having to adjust them/ take them off due to discomfort (ears getting hurt, hot etc)
    Cheers

      Hi Christos thanks for the question. Sadly I had to send my review pair back so I don't have them to hand. But when I had them I wore them for probably two or three hours at a time. Not all day. I know this sounds a bit crazy but I don't suffer from 'hot ears' - but then I know some people do. Two points, Alfredo below has a pair and has had them for a while now it would be good to ask him his experience. And I see location recordists are now starting to use them and those guys wear them all day. What is your regular 'comfortable' headphone? Ta like, ppm6

      That would be iems lol.on the hunt for a really comfortable hp.
      I use senal 1000 for monitoring and after 1 hour I get hot ears.
      Thanks

      @@christosgserepas4200 Hi Christos - I might be the opposite - I tolerate iems but I much rather headphones. The Neumann's are substantial headphones and well made. and they are closed back. So while I found them comfortable you might struggle in a long session. Have you got access to other headphones you can try to see how you get on? I don't know if you can send headphones back (to say Amazon) once you have tried them..... Ta ppm6

      Hi Matthew I envy you! I had to send the review pair back and I kind of regret it. They are a very fine pair of headphones. Interestingly my local pro audio gear supplier Soundkit has started stocking them. Now location recordists are incredibly conservative when it comes to cans. Sennheiser HD25s and 26s still having many loyal users but on the shelf last time I went down - NDH20s were out on display. I think the recent adjustments in price have helped too. Lucky you.Now what do you make of the bass?

    Sig Pros open box are so tempting, 570£ from thomann... was expecting their sound quality to be better than the Neumann, as the Sigs get fabulous reviews being so open for a closed back (and they were at one stage a 1k top of the line headphone) . So you reckon the Neumann matches it pretty much in openness and other areas?. Thanks

      Hi - I had to send the Neumann's back - my pal Martyn at SoundKit has the NDH20s at £399 www.soundkit.co.uk/product/9005508/neumann-ndh-20-headphones
      But as you say 570 is a very good price on the Ultrasones. I feel that at that price they are very hard to ignore. I don't want to spend your money but I lean to the Signature Pros. Hope it all works out for you. Ta like, ppm6.

    • @ppmtv-qh9qk
      @ppmtv-qh9qk  3 роки тому

      Hi Andrew - I really enjoyed them while I had them here (they had to go back to Neumann after the review!) and I would recommend them. The truth in audio is that not everyone likes the same thing and headphones are a special case of this because issues around comfort vary wildly between people. I have heard great audio form some IEM kit but I've never got on with stuff you put 'in' your ears. But that's just me. I notice my pal Martyn and Soundkit is selling them and Martyn's customers are almost entirely professional sound engineers. Has to mean something. Ta like, ppm6.

    How are these for casual listening (watching movies, audiobooks, music) on flights?

    • @ppmtv-qh9qk
      @ppmtv-qh9qk  2 роки тому

      The NDH20's are excellent headphones and are cheaper now than when I made this review video. I suspect some people might prefer something lighter for travel, especially flying. I cannot get on with any sort of in ear solution so I would be willing to put with the faff of the size and weight of the Neumanns. But that might not suit you. Looking round my headphone collection I don't really have anything significantly smaller though to recommend. I might take the AT M50x or M60x with me, they are not as good as the NDH20s but for casual listening they are absolutely fine and I wouldn't cry so much if I broke them in my hand luggage! The other thing is nowadays a lot of people want noise cancelling headphones while travelling and that's a whole new tegedd of pysgod. Ta like, ppm6.

    Hi! Is the bass on Neumann NDH 20 more emphasized than on Ultrasone Signature Pro? What's the best solution for mixing and mastering?

    • @ppmtv-qh9qk
      @ppmtv-qh9qk  5 років тому +3

      That is a good question! I would have said that the bass on the Neumann's was more prominent than on the Signature Pros but I've been mostly working with the NDH20s for the last month or so. So I returned to the Signature Pros. And I didn't find the difference as significant as I expected. In truth either of these cans will be plenty good enough to mix and master great music. They are both very comfortable but I think the Nuemanns win for me in comfort for the long haul. They are both excellent in audio quality and the problem is that small loud differences in loudness easily change our judgment about which is better. And I just don't have the equipment to ensure that the loudness is matched closely enough to make the playing field absolutely fair. Buy either you will not be sorry. Make great music. And let us know how you get on!

    Hi, would you say this Neumann is not for sensitive ears to highs? I mean for example m50x are sibilant to me, maybe m60 too and ndh 20

    • @ppmtv-qh9qk
      @ppmtv-qh9qk  5 років тому +1

      Thanks Ahrahan, I think the highs of the NDH20 are excellent. I agree that the 50x is brighter at the top end - and I would recommend the NDH20 as a big step up. As it should be it costs a lot more money! Let me know if you end up making a purchase - good to get real life feedback.
