The best melodic metal in the world. Fantastic songs. Great vocals and lyrics. Passionate instrumental work. This is what I love! Hail Angel Witch the great band!
One of greatest melodic dark metal albums of mid 80s. So many ppl missed this undiscovered classic. I only have it on tape. Id give 50 bucks 2get it on cd
I remember when i was 19,20 yrs old?!,Now i'm 35 yrs old. A cool Heavy Metal Lady, she is older than me,..back in my hometown,Had this incredible album on LP,She had record player, pick up, etc etc.a very nice sound system for back then. And she burned a cd ,for me, this one, and Exciter-S/T (1988) AKA O.T.T. These 2 albums BLOWS my mind!!! They were sound so same to me at this point of my life ..!! AMAZING albums..Heavy/Dark/Hard...!! Unfortunatelly i don't know where she is now!!! Hope she is doin' alright!! She was SO cool .Cheers Liana, where ever u are..FRONTAL ASSAULT!!!
I have all albums by Angel Witch, the first is a hit on the face, but I think this one, is really a Frontal Assault, suberb album, The metal scene needs hurry a new album like this one, Aaamazing! Angel Witch rules!!
awesome 3rd album from one of the best new wave of british heavy metal bands angel witch. love them so underrated too. can't believe they only had 4 albums. still just 80's metal magic right here. #nwobhmforever
They are one of the best bands ever formed! Really tight and melodic. The vocals are great! They actually remind me of the later Praying Mantis, Wildfire, Demon, I think you know what I mean. Grim Reaper I hear a little of in here too. It's a killer album start to finish.
Jamie Warrior Warlord McCallum Yeah Wildfire I got into by chance. Paul M. Day and I were briefly friends I blew it because he's in Australia when I called him I never knew what time it was there!
Jamie Warrior Warlord McCallum Yes he was you know that! He's a nice guy still pissed about Maiden understandably. He claims Steve Harris really took him for a ride and stole a song he wrote for the first Maiden LP. That was quite awhile ago, though, that we spoke. His wife answered and put him on and Paul was just the sweetest guy in the world. We talked for 2 hours if I remember correctly. also knew SHY- great melodic rock band from Birmingham England. Steve Harris is no longer with us very sadly (not the Iron Maiden Steve Harris the SHY genius writer/guitarist) he died of a brain tumor. I knew Tony Mills and Roy Davies also.
Many thanks TYRANNY for posting this great ANGEL WITCH´s Frontal Assault!...This is my very first time to hear and see this excellent material!...I´ve spent a very entertained 45:15 minutes!...GREAT CONTRIBUTION!...Rock/metal greetings from Santiago, CHILE! PS: Please you continue uploading great rock and metal albums like this one that i will listen/see them attentively here in South America.
Isn't this from 86? Aw's intermediate period, not to be overlooked, just because of the glossy sound and the occasional leanings towards AOR hard driving and power chanting. But one thing is sure - it was all worth the bargain, in order to keeping the group's name under focus, pleasing old fans and gradually gathering more new adepts to the legend and Metal mystique of Angel Witch. But one thing is certain - most of the NWOBHM groups who've made their comebacks kind of intermittent all across the 90s and part of the 2Ks, made quite a few powerful recorded statements recently, and I just have to remember Cloven Hoof, Grim Reaper (SG's, of course...), Traitor's Gate, Blitzkrieg, and even Praying Mantis's ''Gravity'' with its AOR majesty and solar friendliness, to prove my point. More - I've seen 3 of the 5 aforementioned bands between 2016 and 2020, and i was pleasantly reassured in checking age doesn't matter for the true Metal spirit - i know, because I was 16 in 79, and it makes all the sense when people say Metal wouldn't be at all any similar to what it is today, hadn't Nwobhm been the solid intertwining thread that connected the so-called 1st wave of UK Hard and Heavy from 68-69, to the collective future of Heavy Metal. Maybe we need Carl Sagan (and maybe Sleep, too...) to explain us about ever recurring comets.
This is not the Killerwatt Records version buddy. Half of the album belongs to Screamin n'Bleeding and was released by JCI Records in the US, also with a different cover. I can't find The Killerwatt Records version which was here couple of weeks ago.
neruni We were going on Tour with Angel Witch, But I had a life threatening truck Wreak. And these clown's from Finland Ripped Us off when I was sick. Thank's A bunch bro, And one day maybe we can talk MUSIC!!!!! R, Mirabilio"TYRANNY"

***** My first Angel Witch purchase was tripping over a 'Frontal Assault' cassette that was essentially a shorter version of the Screamin' Assault compilation. I wore two copies out and still have one in the collection for reference. Same artwork as this release, which I have on disc- titled Screamin' Assault.
+Bestial Gates Screamin0 Assault worked as a compilation, even thought Frontal Assault and Screamin' and Bleedin' were never released in the US, so Screamin' Assault worked as an album in the US, but you're right, it's a compilation.

+thomfvc No it doesnt, dont get "sounding glam" mixed up with simply "sounding 80s".... It sounds traditional. I dont hear any popy choruses or chants or "one two three four party time" crap. In fact, nothing about this music resembles anything mainstream. This is dark music man, its just old.
Don't bother replying to this dunce. Probably some 12 year old who got told by metal elitist forums that clean vocals mean the band was glam and dressed like drag queens.

This is so freaking underrated.
Holy fuck this is a good album.
This album needs to get the remaster treatment. One of the few that would actually benefit greatly from it.
would love to buy or download this album. just cannot find it anywhere. shame because i've watched this video a lot and I think it is superb
youandwhosearmy? It's very difficult to find. Ebay is your best bet.
I have tried looking too, there is only CD available. This is pretty much a relic now.
+Carmen Ruiz I got my sister a tape of this album for xmas some years ago. The CDs were way expensive lol
A tape is good too but I can't find them either!! Sucks being a youngster haha.

This shit is timeless. I still have my cassette copy.
Fuck, I was just thinking how I wish I had a tape copy. Then, Bam! I see your comment lol cheers
Best format!
I've listened to thousands of metal tracks in my life. And this LP is one of the greatest. Dark, nostalgic and perfect.
Classic mid to late 80's sound! This is so nostalgic!🤘😈🤘🖤🤘❤️🤘
I still have both Screamin' and Bleedin' and Frontal Assault on vinyl. LOVE THESE ALBUMS!
Got copies of both recently. Really loving them too!
i envy you. youtubes the only thing keepin those albums alive for younger fellas to listen to it. if they dont remaster these ill be livid
Definitely an under-rated but essential NWOBHM Album.
Original U.K release has a different track list. If you haven't checked out that one I would!

This is an example of whats was and still is the really heavy metal, this guys should already be on the rock hall (sorry if they're already there)
Later 2 albums of Angel Witch remind me Tytan a lot.Great typical British Hard Rock at its finest in later NWOBHM.
Thank You.. Please Share Robert Mirabilio

Jamie Warrior Warlord McCallum

Benjamin Blake Mitchner fuck unlucky, the first iron maiden singer too.

So melodic and dramatic! Even the Mo Salah ad couldn't take away from my pleasure.

20 Fear The Steel.....
We'll one thing's for sure, that is not Kevin Heybourne singing lead vocals.
Dave Tattum. Kevin was doing guitars and backing vocals at this point in time.
It’s my dad Dave Tattum. He was on the Frontal Assault album and the Screemin’ n Bleedin’ ablum.
Don't care for the singer. Love the group.
It’s me

I agree! This is a medley of of "Screamin'n'bleeding" and "Frontal assault".
Frontal Assault (the real album) doesn't exists on CD.

Half Frontal Assault, half Screamin n bleedin?!?!
please post the original frontal assault album.
I have the Screaming Assault CD Two good records I preferer Frontal Assault.
But Frontal Assault is from 86. Screamin' Assault is from `88, and its complication.

This was "Screamin' Assault" ,not "Frontal Assault" with the wrong cover.
What's better, Angel Witch or Storm Witch?
Mull on that, people.
VOX reminds me of Steve grimmet from grim reaper, and im actualy very very surprised it isnt steve grimmet.
It really sounds nothing like Steve Grimmett*, at all.
this sounds sooo glam.......

No way dude. 'Witch was flying the trad flag when all the glam bands out in L.A. were still learning their instruments.

too wimpy for me.....
+metalmike66 its classic, not wimpy
It's trad, baby. Before 8-string guitars and drum triggers, this was how it was done.
angel witch is more dark and with occult content than 90% of extreme brutal metal today.
The real metal is here. sit down and learn.

What a horrible sound. Even for that time, its still bad
