I heard this song after this guy I fell for led a different life from what he told me. He told me he and his girlfriend have been unhappy for years and that he stayed with her because she went crazy every time he tried to leave her. He lied. He told her I was someone who had a thing for him and wouldn't leave him alone. She reached out to me, and we talked about it and thankfully she forgave me. This song for me brings back memories that could be a country song. In Oct. 2009, I enrolled on Facebook. I got in touch with all my old classmates. One that paid me particular attention was one of my bullies in school. He said he was going through a divorce, and we started texting. I thought everyone grows up, and boy was I wrong. He said that once his divorce was final, he wanted to be with me, and my four kids (2 of which are disabled.) He came down on 9/30/10 to Houston from IN. He said he had ordered my engagement ring. He brought me something he said he had for a long time...a Gene Simmons doll since we were both KISS fans. I invited everyone from my work on 10/3/10 for our engagement BBQ. He received a phone call the next night stating he had to return to IN for a DUI charge. We looked at a house for us, and he left for IN on 10/10/10 which should have been a clue. He returned on 10/17/10. I noticed he was irritable, and different. On 10/26/10 after I arrived home from a college course, I asked what was wrong? He said that he regretted his divorce, he hated having 4 kids around, and he couldn't handle it. I found out later through a friend that while in IN he had screwed his ex and told her he wasn't taking care of my retard son. My son is Asperger's with an IQ of 140. He told his ex he'd be back soon; I was just a vacation. His son called me TEXASS. I had to tell my young kids he was leaving. I thought I'd never get over it. Kellie Pickler's song "Didn't you know how much I loved you," also says it well. 3 yrs. later I tried it again with another classmate. I moved back to IN with my girls and found myself in an abusive relationship. I got my girls out first, then me. He gave me a choice, "Your kids or me, you can't have both." Last year I almost died in the hospital, and I hallucinated a lot about my ex-husband. 3 weeks later he went out exactly as he always said he would, "Suicide by cop." Kelsey Ballerini's song "Peter Pan," describes him. I haven't tried any relationship since 2014.
I'd never in a million years cheat. My ex-wife did, and it was not the best. I know what I have. We've worked hard for each other. 22 years in, and aside from getting older and feeling it, it's just getting better. Great song.

God, I can't believe it's been 6 years since this song came out...Ridiculous how fast time goes. But I think it was around that time I really stopped listening to country music as it really really fell apart around this time. But this is a great song, it's still one of my top 25 most played songs on iTunes
I'm very happy to see that a real country music artist is on the scene to show Taylor and few others what country music really is about. Nashville lost their title of "country music capitol" to Texas a long time ago.
I love this song. I heard it last night on the radio before falling asleep, I'd normally forget a song I hadn't heard before at that time, or any time. But I was crying thinking of the one I love, she is my everything. I don't even like country, I had a headache till this song came on, for country gives me headaches. But this song, I love it. It is just perfect.
Heard this on Bob Harris country in the UK driving home from work. Best country music I've heard in years. From the comments below in the states its not popular. That makes me feel so sad . What do they like there now?I pity them.
I have been trying to find this song for about ten years!!!!!!!! I'm so glad I finally figured out who sang it. It's such a great story and beautiful music. I am not fond of cheaters at all, I think that's a terrible thing to do but this song actually gave me empathy for the 'other woman'. You can actually understand that if the cheating spouse is spinning a bunch of lies then she probably does think he's about to leave his wife. Occasionally they do but more often than not, they don't. I suggest you not date a married person till the divorce is final.
+Anthony St James Amen! Its a classic sound! I love it and Sunny is one of my favorite singers but everytime this one starts I always get it confused with that Vince Gill song Don't Let Our Love Start Slipping Away, lol, and that is not a knock against Sunny.

Came back in 2020 to hear this great song. Started off with "someday soon" & "Aces" Suzy Bogguss, beautiful songs that should be playing on the radio today! Too much junk on the air these days.. Anyone else have some faves ?
Back in the day they used to play music like this . But that was once upon a time . One out of ten songs , is a good song the rest of it "well . Who knows what it is ? So I listen to my playlist on my phone " .
I have never - to my knowledge - been the other woman. I always have asked a man if he was married or if he had a girlfriend if he even starts to try to talk to me. Some have answered - "Well, I am sorta married or yes, I have a girlfriend, kinda..." I will shut them down right then and there. Because how you get a man is how you're going to loose them.

Sunny Sweeney and your band-I am 42 years old and remember in the 80's and 90's when country was in its hayday. I am still alive now when "new country" is nothing but pop with a sound board violin. Between you and Billy Carrington, you *almost* saved country music. I am still stunned that the industry had the sack to produce you. This song is almost late 70's sounding, and is a spot on, tear producing country song. Thank you my darlin' for writing and singing this song. Because of you, I still have hope for a resurgence in true country.
Look up Karen Rochelle. This song was written by her. I think Sunny has a great voice and I agree... this is real county. Check Karen out.... shes fantastic. She is on tour with Garth Brooks at the moment opening for him. She also has a youtube video singing this song at the Blue Bird Cafe.

We need MORE of this on country radio and less hick hop and pop. I could three step to this song all night.
Great music,Real Country
real LIFE
I wish that sunny would come back into country music she was such a great singer !!!
yet your here listening to it.....humm sounds like someone is drowning there tears In as we all know theres no better place to drown your tears then COUNTRY!!
She is better than any other singer in Nashville now
Omg I have searched this song for so long !!! Years!! After hearing it on the radio years ago !! I finally found it !!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I know that feeling! Glad you finally found it!
it's pretty obscure and unknown, I haven't heard it on the radio in years. Definitely great though
I love this song
Smiles, same here dear, how are you doing? 🌺 😊
This song came out in the middle of a 5 yr fling. I played it for her, she never said a word.
The sadness of the song is the time of parting. It's a song that really touches my heart.
My heart just broke listening to this! A few years ago my cousin had invited me for a night out & this song came out on the radio on our way there but she changed the station & told me the song reminded her of a bad relationship... I remembered the song title but didn’t know the singer... she’s amazing!
So beautiful and the song is too.
If you ever read this Sunny ;I was lied and fooled into that scene that my lady partner created. Something tells me you must have made a call that I never knew about.I'm greatly sorry about that time. And because of a injury .I could not keep a memory of anyone.Same situation happened when Missy Higgins came to town. With both of you I found out through your songs.God Help, takecare
A year ago I wrote that you should have been the savior of true country music and it didn't happen. God bless you and your band for trying darlin'...
she's gorgeous AND sings good country? Going to buy a ring NOW!
My God this is a great song and wonderfully sung. Should have been a #1 Hit. Well, it is to me!!!!!!
The guy in this video is also a substitute teacher in a high school. A friend of mine had him as her teacher and he dabbles in acting, while also teaching. Pretty cool, really. :)
This song could not be more country.
BEAUTIFUL TEXAS LADY 🇨🇱❤️💯 and SHE HAS THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
God, I can't believe it's been 6 years since this song came out...Ridiculous how fast time goes. But I think it was around that time I really stopped listening to country music as it really really fell apart around this time. But this is a great song, it's still one of my top 25 most played songs on iTunes
I'm very happy to see that a real country music artist is on the scene to show Taylor and few others what country music really is about. Nashville lost their title of "country music capitol" to Texas a long time ago.
How did I miss this song for so many years?! Damn this woman is amazing!
I can't stop listening to this song
I suggest you not date a married person till the divorce is final.
used to listen this song, I still do but I used to too.
shit
awesome observation Mitch.
Love the old country vibe of this song. This easily sounds like it could be a song out of the 80’s or 90’s.
I'm not a huge country fan but I've always liked this song.
Still listening in 2018!!!
One of the greatest soaring melodies I've ever heard is on the chorus. Fantastic record.
+Anthony St James Amen! Its a classic sound! I love it and Sunny is one of my favorite singers but everytime this one starts I always get it confused with that Vince Gill song Don't Let Our Love Start Slipping Away, lol, and that is not a knock against Sunny.

You know, you're right! Very similar intro.
She is beautiful, and twice as talented as anyone on the radio, never understood why she didn't get more credit
Just heard this 4 the first time. Love her! Finally moving out of my depression, just letting my fans out there know. Yes I'm gonna take it slow this time and be wicked cautious. Cross ur fingers and say allies prayer for me. God knows I need it. Thanks y'all!
Some have answered - "Well, I am sorta married or yes, I have a girlfriend, kinda..."
I will shut them down right then and there. Because how you get a man is how you're going to loose them.
Amen n ditto! 🙌
if the song opens up to a crying of the steel guitar...youre in for a real country song. real singing. real lyrics. real instruments. Real.Country.Music
all the Cowboys in the Great State of Nevada Are Only A Few Tables Away Sunny Sweeny, You Are Jamm Up! Keep On Keep On Keepin On-We ARE Always With You in the Sagebrush State
This girl can sing! I love her twang! True country girl.
Great comment
Look up Karen Rochelle. This song was written by her. I think Sunny has a great voice and I agree... this is real county. Check Karen out.... shes fantastic. She is on tour with Garth Brooks at the moment opening for him. She also has a youtube video singing this song at the Blue Bird Cafe.
Nicole L Thanks for that info I will.
