No I haven't. But I was on the Ranger when she was in Vancouver B.C in the late 70's What a great honour to be given a private tour of her.

We need new carriers, hypersonics, and hypersonic defenses 15. We need to have 3-D technology above and to see 4K feet down. Hard. Bulletproof deck windows.

I love how they say how long they. They're all a thousand feet long and so many feet wide. Maybe different by a few feet. Wooooo.

In 1983, I wanted to join the Navy, but I didn't pass the military physical. The Pacific is where I grew up and where I wanted to serve. I had an Uncle who was in the Navy, stationed in Japan during the Vietnam.

I served on a couple Essex class carriers (the Randolph and the Essex) during the 60s where we would fly our aircraft onboard and have our pilots 'carrier qualified' for anti-submarine warfare. In those days S-2F planes were anti-submarine hunter-killer aircraft. Living aboard a carrier and working on the flight deck during flight operations I will never forget. Those were very old ships at that point and definitely sparse in comfort....Good memories though

I was stationed in Japan in the 80's on a guided missle destroyer. Was part of the fleet for the U.S.S. Midway. She was old and not as big as the modern carriers. But she was historic ship. A museum now in San Diego

You missed the successor to the CV-6 Enterprise the worlds first nuclear powered carrier CVN-65 Enterprise which participated in almost every conflict from Vietnam till her retirement in 2012 as well as many humanitarian aid missions. I served on her during the 1980's.

One of my high school classmates was stationed on board the CVN 65 Enterprise while visiting Subic Bay Philippine Islands I gave my home town friend a tour of my tinny LST 901 the Litchfield County and then we toured his Carrier. I was in total AWAH. The next time my ship the 901 or it could have been the 1096 LST St. Clair County a prior Class A classmate toured each others ship. He was on the Battle Ship New Jersey.

Yes ,actually I lived in navel housing in 1976 in Alameda,Ca.
I had an uncle by marriage,
    that was a Captain
    on the U.S.S. Enterprise.
He took me & my sister on it for a tour.
    I was 6yrs. old & I
    just remember how
    'Insanely Giagantic'
it seemed to us Children .😆
It was like a huge floating city with everything on it, including weapons,
    ammunition & naval soliders...
    And it was the
    🕺Disco💃 Era
    back in 1976 too!😂
    Good times & music
Is what I remember the most from those years in My Life.....💔😞

Great video. You did forget to mention one of the Kitty Hawk class. USS America CV-66. I served on her during the early 90’s. The navy did her wrong. The USS John F. Kennedy CV-67, which was Americas sister ship got a new Ford class carrier. Why not America. Instead they gave her name to LHD-6. We know that Enterprise is getting a new carrier CVN-80. Let’s make thing right. USS AMERICA CVN- 81.

😮 🤔 is that the one that was billions of dollars over budget and had everything from clogged toilets to airplane elevators that did not work ? 🤷 😄😆 if so I hope everything is fixed . If not now both of my pockets are much deeper ! Because Uncle Sam dug so deep that my pockets literally stretched to the point of now being holy . Now they have to be sewn and baptized in the washing machine . 😂😂 .

And just think one rod from orbit could wipe out 13,000,000,000$ not to safe. Just saying.

    • @The-Ford-Guy
      @The-Ford-Guy 4 місяці тому

Just think. If you learned how to form a sentence and use proper punctuation, the readers wouldn't have to waste time trying to figure out what you're trying to say. And by the way. The "rods from orbit" you're referring to are unguided. A 3° hard over turn in any direction with even 15 seconds warning would miss the ship completely. That's why that Satellite (if it's even up there) is designed to hit stationary targets only.
