Just finished the video, I love your point abouy eliminating the bast,ard that is color, I, at some point discovered that color really distracts my vision and limits my composition.
It made me completely switch to B/W at some point.

If you go look at rows of magazines in the shops, can see the light in the eyes of the model, and most of them are one light, big softbox, little bit higher than the face, square centre. Especially for lady models.
Soft light to make ladies faces smooth, harsher light to make men look more rugged. But you right 90% mostly one light. Even for those high paying magazine jobs.

Correct. In raw mode, no matter what you see on the back of the camera screen you can change it later.
