Rarely see the dual wheels ran on the front during re-enactments, like on that front boom truck. The extra weight of the boom probably made the duals necessary. The guy on "Low Buck Garage" put the dual wheels on the front of an old bomb carrier he fixed up and showed how the system worked. Was interesting. The only other time I ever saw it before was with chained tires up on muddy convoys in vintage war footage.
In Belgium you can see it quite often. They seem to really like it there.. (me too 😁). Last october I saw it on a Ben-Hur trailer towed by a M16 Halftrack. Dual tires at front on the GMC where nescessary when the special caterpillar tracksystem was used. I am still waiting to see that one time..

Lots of cool vehicles! The muddy conditions are actually a pretty accurate representation of conditions found on battlefronts everywhere in WW2.
