I think I’m traveling to Vancouver soon for the first time. You should make a video on how a police officer would recommend people stay safe from drug users. I will be traveling with my girlfriend and don’t want anyone to harass us like the homeless and drug users do in the major city we live in within the USA. I am well experienced in these interactions here unfortunately. But Canada is not my home so I can’t have the same sense as you. I do not know the level of danger or amount of people who would be willing to do harm that are armed. Obviously I can’t carry like you can 😂 in Canada so the only self defense is to run and that’s not a possibility if you are any kind of disabled really. so I’m just a little interested in what you would have to say on how to stay safe.
Hmmm. Definitely different since it's in Canada and not carrying is permitted. But if you are to encounter anything where they're demanding your money or wallet with an edged weapon or anything of a make-shift weapon, is to just hand it over... since it might escalate to further injuries. I haven't really had to deal with any 'robbery' type situations with those particular groups of people, and most are generally pretty okay to deal with. And if you do notice someone acting odd but not harming anyone, just keep moving on. I've had some calls where someone speaks their mind or tries to intervene and get injured as a result. Stay aware of your surroundings, travel in a group if you can, avoid sketchy looking laneways, even moving to the opposite sidewalk if you notice a group lingering around... Just some minor safety tips.
Imagine getting arrested and finding out you just listened to them to go to sleep the night before lol
I will give you your charter rights and verbatim from my issued charter card in a soothing tone! 😀
