I just bought one yesterday. I'm so excited to get it on the road! I will be making videos with it soon. Definitely not a high speed machine but the 26-28 hp stock, lightweight, and 6 speed transmission make them super fun to ride and they have great acceleration. I am anxious to get mine along side some stock DR650's, KLX250's, and CRF250L's. For a 30 year old bike they are amazing!!

Hi Harriet, they are the Acerbis Multiconcept Xstrong hand guards. They come with two sizes of guards. Large that does a good job of blocking wind in the winter and a smaller set for summer months that are well vented. You should be able find them a just about any Motorcycle shop or online.

mick zulyevic For Sure, I'm in South Orange County. Fun bike! If you ever need a new seat cover, I got Seat Concepts to make seats for the bike. They are much more comfortable than the stock seat. If you start to log some long miles you will appreciate it. I'm thinking about a run down to Baja!

Howdy there, I saw that you sold your NX250 and was wondering if you had any extra parts or anything else that you had left over, if so I'd like to buy them from you if possible. I have a 1988 NX250 I need parts for or anything for it really.

can these bikes take a revin like that consistently? cause there is an older gentlemen selling one in great condition for 1200 and it has supermoto tires on it

+lexi Lara I'd buy it in a heartbeat. The engine was designed to handle high revs but remember it's almost 30 years old so I wouldn't hold the bike (or any bike)at the red line for more than brief periods of time, unless you are into rebuilding engines. It's very happy cruising at 65 or 70 all day long however. I think the bike was really ahead of it's time in the late '80's. I saw a video someplace of a guy on what looked like a stock bike ripping up a small supermoto track, passing bikes twice it's displacement. But, that probably says more about the rider than the bike.

+Ron West thanks!!! yeah I'm going today to look it over in person. really don't know much about the bike other than i think it suits my needs. I'm just needing a fun bike to ride around town maybe backroad here an there with great gas mileage. thought about buying this guys 08 yamaha r6. but this lil honda looks like a steal for the price.

+lexi Lara Perfect for what you describe. Cheap fun. Mine gets about 70mpg and it fun on and off road and a blast in the twisties. It's not fun on the freeway but but it will do it. Check out the ADVrider forum NX250 thread for tons of info

Is your bike all stock? I have an 89 and it struggles to hold 60 on small inclines or going into the wind. The most ive been able to get it to do on flats was 65mph. Any thoughts? Starts right up, runs well, no bogging.
    I'm 6'2 and 180 pounds.

It was stock. But, I experienced the same thing, any incline or into the wind the bike would struggle to maintain 65. To get it to that speed I had to almost red line each gear. The bike will maintain momentum if you wring it out! I weigh about 150, 5'10. Probably the reason I could get to that fast, plus it was in an excellent state of tune, jetting was spot on and I always ran Premium gas. Oh don't overlook your air filter any little thing that robs the bike of air or fuel will greatly effect that engine.

@@ronwest90277 Thanks for the quick reply. Makes me feel better you were experiencing the same thing. I was starting to think something was wrong because everywhere online claims top speed of 80 to 85. Which made me think it should hold 60 to 65 better than it does.

+Albert Tran It's an amazing little bike for a 1988. It will do just about everything. From single track to the freeway.
